Looked like good journalism! I liked how you asked the question about job creation. It is important to tackle these issues from every angle and to include what the defense of the business is. THEN, question if that defense is legitimate. You did that here. Please keep up honest and thorough journalism like this. I’m subscribing because of it. I would also have offered Bayer the opportunity to have a town meeting where the community could ask questions to show how they have clear and open communication with the public. And their response would have been great journalism. Either they turn out to do it and you show up with the members of the community you talked with and they have a conversation or they decline. Either way you offered everyone the chance to defend their stance and communicate with each other that would have made for an incredible interaction. That is key here. Again thank you so much for the dedication to rounded and thorough journalism!

Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, so naturally MONSANTO will want to totally control and take over their agriculture industry, too. After years of trying, they finally forced all of the farmers in India to buy their GMO seeds and toxic pesticides, which will put all of their family farmers permanently out of business. Anyone who refuses to buy MONSANTO GMOS will either be threatened, bought out, or simply sued in court until they go broke and have to declare bankruptcy. This is how the US does business.
Now we want to take over Venezuela. MONSANTO will never stop until they own the food production of the entire world, just like Jeff Bezos of Amazon won't stop until he OWNS the world. Welcome to the New World Order.

Now Dow-Dupont is the US owned rival to Bayer/Monsanto in the GMO ..( except a chinese giant) . and.. FDA is the regulation maker ... they were in realtion with Monsanto when first GMO s were created ... Regulations have to change... this is the only way to stop GMO 's or harmful chemicals... as long as FDA OK's chemicals as harmless ... somebody will produce them.. If not Monsanto/Bayer ... then Dow-Dupont ... This is Just like asbestos issue.. FDA has to change the regulation to regulate Monsanto/Bayer and Dow/Dupont... Another note : Dow Dupont will be GMO Monopoly if Bayer/Monsanto goes away... so FDA regulation change is the key...

I think this is a classic example of big corporations and industries exploiting local communities and the environment for their own self interest. This is extremely concerning as each day passes, these corporations get richer and the environment is destroyed even more. I believe the first step in the right direction is for local communities to organize and engage in civic activities to promote the welfare of their communities. We need to get the youth heavily involved as they are the ones who will be most impacted. Lastly, we need to exercise our consumer rights by protesting and boycotting harmful products and corporations that exploit their workers and propose shifts in policy and proper regulation.

They have been and are corrupt democrats. Money, not the people drive them. Until the island is cleansed of this scourge, things will remain the same.

Most people in Puerto Rico know nothing about Monsanto and their operations in Puerto Rico, most don;t even know there is a Monsanto in the island. Problem is that they are protected by the local government and the media, which in turn, are controlled by the Cuban exile, Puerto Rico's worst enemy. 121 years of colonial rule are the main cause of the current state of affairs.
