This Goodwill never disappoints! Amazing prices and great finds are perfect for home and gifting. See the huge collection of Avon's 1875 Cape Cod pattern glass dinnerware, made from 1975 to 1993. It's one of the most beautiful deep ruby patterns that is perfect for all seasons. In a thrifting frame of mind with $270 worth of Natalini Italian handcrafted frames. What did I pay for all? Got it for the bargain price of $9.95. Japonaise and Chinoiserie are well represented in "Treasure Island". Black lacquer boxes are Mid-Century made in Occupied Japan. These all purpose storage vessels are ideal for hiding a tv remote, storing jewelry, and a decorative element. Catch of the day is a Gurglepot, new with tags. It was the Avon Cape Cod collection that got me into collecting many years ago. One day I decided I would check out a local antique store and the set of Cape Cod caught my eyes. Once I was told it was by Avon, I had to have every piece I could find. My mom was big on Avon many years ago and anything by Avon reminded me of her. I now have a very large collection of Cape Cod and it brings me beautiful memories of my mom.

Was expecting my friend would want the crystal decanter. He declined, so I left it for someone else to discover.
So far I’ve found 3 decanters and 2 ice buckets. I cried my eyes out when the ice bucket slipped from my hand as I was washing it. (it had the handle!) 3 large pieces on my granite countertop. Last night I broke a wine glass, last week a MCM or antique, etched beer stein (both very thin), same granite……I’m going back to laminate! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lady MaryBeth can you make a video that will give me some ideas on how to decorate a long table that is only used on holidays and special occasions. We have a dining room table that can be expanded to fit 8 then we pull up a table that can add 5 more place settings. Because I am using two separate tables I need decorations down the center to make the table more cohesive yet not block the view of guests during conversations. Thank you in advance.

I really enjoy your videos. I have the exact same Japanese jewelry box you showed first. It’s actually from the early 1940’s. My father was in WWII and sent it home from the South Pacific to his little sister who left it to me. I think it was a popular souvenir item back then.

I have two of the Japanese jewellery boxes; one belonged to my mother, one to my mother in law. They were brought back as souvenirs by men serving in the forces in the early 1950s.
Good to know the history of these boxes and how they got to the U.S.
Hi Mary Beth! I purchased 12 of the Cape Cod Ruby Red dinner plates years ago in a thrift store in great condition! Their absolutely beautiful! I use them year round. My Christmas table looks extra special when they are used. Stay well!

I just love your videos! They’ve inspired me to shop my local thrift and Good Will stores. Your Texas stores look more like gift shops while here in Southern New England ours often resemble garage sales. But I still love the hunt! I would love to find a Fostoria American ice bucket!

I have the cape code vinegar bottle and salt and pepper my mom had. My daughter in law has the 6 small goblets. I did sell to large goblets for 20 to a couple who were going to use them at their wedding table a couple years ago.
I wish I lived closer so I could visit that Goodwill! Ours always has just junk😊

I am so jealous of the Goodwills that i see other people shopping at. Ours seem like nasty trashy junk shops. No jewelry, either. I was told Goodwill stores do not carry jewelry. It is all online.

I have several Gail Pittman pieces. Now that they are no longer made, does this increase the value? Also, last week I found a small, ceramic, deviled egg plate (6 slots) with a thistle hand painted in the center, Scottish perhaps?. No back stamp, Any ideas?

Goodwill online at www.shopgoodwill.com is another option, and doesn’t require Clorox. 😉
I love the Delft tulip vase you show in the promo. I have been looking for one while thrifting. I also look for the Gouda ware as it is my all time favorite. I have some pieces from my Oma.
I sometimes find tulipieres at thrift stores. Bet you can find some locally. Love Delft, too.
Waterford Cake Plate for 10.00, listed for 199.99 retail was my major find this weekend and a pair of Waterford Salt and Pepper shakers for 25.00 retailing at 175.00.

I love the delft shoes. in Dutch German.. I do have some Dublin in me and English. I guess I’m a Heinz 57. I did the 23 and me and found that my ancestors pretty much come from these areas. There’s a tiny bit of Scandinavia 6% and Italian which I found funny. My grandfather was full-blooded German, and on my dad’s side I don’t really know. My brother always told me we were Dutch and I always thought How would you know? But he was right
My local good will is huge but has very little hard goods mostly clothing. My only scores are crafting supplies or toys for my classroom.
Have you shopped Goodwill online? There are some deals there.
I found the Haviland Limoges poppy pattern, 6 dinner plates and 6 bread plates, for $12 at a thrift store. I mix it with a green and white floral suisse langenthal pattern I haven't been able to identify. They look great together.
Mixing china is the best way to set a table. Love hearing about your thrifted Haviland.

I was honoured to be invited to a Chinese tea ceremony in Singapore. The tea pot and cups were all very small. I don’t know if the ones you found were for the tea ceremony or just for the tourist market. Loved that large Japanese box x

Your stores look clean and organized with good prices. I've given up on the thrift store in my MN city. They are expensive, have Target junk and are really dirty. Clothing and shoes are in rough shape, Dishes are chipped or cracked and they still want $5. Appliances don't work, art is faded etc..

@@suzannekosic4088 Much like Waterford and other high end brands, jewelry items are donated by estates and those cleaning out their homes. Might be in handbags or boxes and overlooked. Some are unaware of the value if it did not belong to them.
