That's good advice. I have disc degeneration and that inversion table is a lifesaver. Grab the top of it and pull for a better stretch once you're upside down

Any kind of traction should be sufficient, as long as you are doing it regularly, but make sure you are strengthening the muscles that are responsible for the structural integrity of the segment of your spine that is having trouble. You'll thank me later.

Very very few do this. You can look up "Y" strap chiropractic and their website lists all chiropractors on Google maps that have purchased their product . It does the same as the towels round neck. Saying that I have had no luck locating a clinic that does it anywhere within 2hrs of me and if I did most won't have that table that locks in the hips which is crucial.

Using an inversion table for a couple of minutes a day would be far more effective if you could work out what angle is optimal for your specific issue.
I'm sure this feels good, though. It's just that I would be extremely weary of having my already fucked up spine violently deconpressed all at once.
If this doesn't make your condition worse, which it very well could (or give you new problems) the best course of action would be to not immediately stand up and let your spine compress again over the course of a few hours.
You need to allow time for fluid to get into the problem areas and allow for proper healing.
But, chiropractic medicine preys on the uneducated so... nothing anyone can do about that.
