Come to Toronto David!
ya!
Great video! We're from London and recently spent 7 weeks in India, we're adding Southall to the list!!! India has some of THE BEST food!!! 🤩👏
I bet Southall will only feel like 5% of Indian food.
It is frozen food like UK.
Indian street food is always fresh.
You’re legit promoting the street food vendors of Southall! So lovely and beautiful ❤️🙌🏻 loads of love from India Dave!
India zindabaad I love our country🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳💪🏼💪🏼
This was definitely the best Indian food tour, but I didn't expect it to be in Southall, London!
Food from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and ... Southeast Asia will definitely make people salivate!
I don’t know why there are no subtitles for this episode, but I still tried my best to watch it!
You did a really great job again, thanks a lot for sharing! 👍🤩👏
P. S. Subtitles came out more than two hours later!
@@giannishen how cruel
I understand. A food channel had me learn Japanese just because I wanted to follow what they were saying. I love their food
Why not Southall which has a large Asian community just like Birmingham
Southhall India. Birmingham Pakistan. Leicester Arabs.
Oh Wow!! I lived in Southall in the 90s. Great place!! That Dahi Puri Guy is the Man!! Thanks for the Great Vibes @ David.
Awesome! I can only imagine how much its changed over the past 30 years but it was a magical place for sure. Always glad to share and thank you for the comment imaneedoo!
@@Davidsbeenhere you are most welcome.🙂👍
Southall a great place? 🤣. I was born to Indian immigrant parents 50 years ago and grew up in Southall since birth; it has been a undesirable area to live in for at least 60 years and has only got worse. Besides it is way too far from inner London. I moved out in 1996.
I lived in Greenford next door to Southall in the early 60's. There was only one Indian family in my whole street. I remember they gave me some tea in a metal mug. It was so sweet I remember it to this day.
@@stevenhull5025 I believe you. My ethnicity is Indian, I was born in Southall 50 years ago. The reason why natives of India and immigrants from India drink very sweet tea is because of the climate of India, it's a very hot country, and back in the old days vast majority of Indians did physically demanding work outside, thus needed that extra sugar, it became a habit which they couldn't shake off even when they migrated to the U.K.; as I was born in the U.K. I don't drink very sweet tea or coffee.
David I have watched your travel and food videos for a few years and what I love about you and what makes me come back is your Multi-cultural and you absorb local languages and cultures...well done mate. Steve
Thank you so much for saying that Steve. I really appreciate it. And also thank you for the longtime support as well. I'm super grateful, and I'm wishing you a great weekend as well.
Loved how you interact with the locals and you've perfect pronunciation of all Indian dishes too ...
Thanks a lot 😊
Great video David, reminiscent of the good old times in India 🇮🇳
totally agreed this reminded me of the old times, definitely seems to have found his voice again. I actually hadn't watched in a few years and then checked out the recent content and was blown away by this new vibe that also reminds me of the old vibe.
Agreed. Seems to be in his element here.@@tastasigora4875
One thing that i like about David is that he knows about the thing that he is doing. He has the proper knowledge of everything. Not like any other tourist who just blindly goes to a place and starts exploring without having the proper knowledge and history of the place unlike David here. Apart from the knowledge he acquires~ it's David's nature, his behaviour towards the people he meets, his simple & sober attitude, honest & genuine friendliness and last but not the least - his positive vibes that attracts us to see his content. Keep it up dude😊 lots of love from Guwahati, Assam and India 🇮🇳☮️
I visited London way back in 2006 but didn't get to visit the Indian neighborhoods. I made a brief stop again in 2022 on my way to Rome, but I still missed it. I'll definitely visit one day soon.
hope you get a chance to visit!
Glad you experienced Goan food in Southall!
Yes! Its so underrepresented in my opinion, I'd love to see more videos on Goan food on the channel too!
South goan food is way better. It was not represented. Only hatred was shown
I live about 35 miles south of London and often go to Southall to top up my Indian ingredients and try different things and the people as you've said are just so friendly and helpful 😊
Sounds great Sean. I can only imagine the delicious flavors you are cooking up at home. Totally agreed everybody here are just beyond kind.
It is our Indian culture and values we respect our guests 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳❤️❤️❤️
@@Ok-up7ty thank you my friend 🙏🙏
I love indian food and indian people😊 im going soon to Londen, i will visit these for sure.
Really love from india. Iam like eminem real slim shady in the world.
EMINEM TAKE A NAME. Gandhi and INDIA COUNTRY.
London is such an incredible and diverse city. Despite some of the comments I see, diversity is what makes London a truly world class city. The Indian Food in London is unmatched outside of India. Really enjoying hearing the stories and perspectives of people on the ground, really great change of pace with this new style.
thank you 🙏 we really want to tell stories of the people from every culture ❤
crimes the highest its ever been, but hey ''good food''.

Why did you not say you are coming to Southall in your last video? I would’ve met you there and shown you proper places to eat, people always go on the wrong side of Southall 😮
I'll be back! Next time? Also we did go to a bunch of other places but had difficulty getting film access so some spots didn't get in the video. Thank you for the kind offer too though look forward to coming back again soon.
Most people come by train and if you start from Bavan on the left and follow the road there, most people don't know that it goes further
@@baronsamedi5652 I totally agree. I remember seeing another RUclipsr who went in the other direction towards Old Southall! 😫🤭
@@Davidsbeenhere Aww 🥰 thanks for replying David. It would’ve been so great to see you! By the way, did you go for your favourite head shave with massage this time in Southall? 😆
Bro you making me
Salivate with that delicious food
Glad you found a Goan place in South Hall! Its amazing to find
Although I'm african by decent, i was born and bred in southall. It honestly shapes you in different ways....
Your knowledge of Indian food and your passion for the culture is just astonishing. You must’ve been Indian in another life.😊
I tasted my first authentic indian food in Southall too. Your absolute delight is just completely understood.
yes! me too!
The place basically looks like a clean and managed "India " so vibrant and so much happening , lots of street vendors and colorful shops . its a wow place to visit and explore .
Average Canadian.
that sewing lady was humble and sweet..... some english.... some english? sounded pretty fluent to me bless her :)
Hey dude, just wanted to say your UK trip uploads are just awesome..you have so many UK subscribers. Stay safe brother 👍🏼
great vibe all over the place
Can’t believe you came, and went to the places you went. So many better places for food.
Yeah totally useless video. Gave more importance to goan dog than food itself which is channels specialty
Next time you go:
1) Shahensha (North Road) - Very popular for Samosas, try the paneer as well as veg. Their Chutney is like gold!
2) ShahiNan Kebab -opposite the regent college and next to Lidl (there are multiple, the best one that remains IMO) - Get a seekh kebab - their Chilli Sauce is where its at!!
3) If you want to try a more high end experience, give Madhu's or The Brilliant Restaurant (Old Southall, Gordon Ramsay endorsed) a go.
Look forward to you next video! 🙏🏼
The Goan food is in the old Liberty Market which was originally a cinema.
I grew up in old Southall.Great place to live. I used to meet my friend in West End road and we'd walk down Southall Broadway and buy a samosa every Saturday morning before we went swimming at Dormers Well's. Nearly opposite the Glassy Junction on South road is Hamborough School which has a nuclear war bunker under the School playground. You can see the ventilation shafts!
London has so much to offer.
Peace,Love and Unity 🙏
Damn I must have bumped into you, I was also born and raised in Southall!
You need to go Prince of Wales or The Scotsman pub next time for a Mixed Grill!
Respect to the lad who represents Goa…Hats off to u sir
Try Whitechapel & Brick Lane for Bengali Cuisine .... Nanna Biriyani, Kolapata, Grand Rasoi, Tara Taree, Graam Bangla, MOMLETTE
As a Londoner, i will admit the majority of people tend to be too busy and used to giving the cold shoulder, so it's extremely refreshing to see you being polite and make them come out of their shell! Amazing video
I love your Albania tour and your black food tours lol. I’m glad you enjoyed it here In the uk 🇬🇧 hope you visit again soon x 👋🏾💋🫶🏾
Next time I visit London I will definitely go to Southall 😍🇮🇳
Thanks David!!: Love you vibe lovely video so entertaining.
Nice. Thanks for a great video.
Lived in Southampton 53 years, this is all new tome, thanks for your videos.
Thank you so much Nayana! I really appreciate that and I can only imagine the amazing changes you've seen over the years in Southampton!
You need to go to Alperton Ealing road. I think u might enjoy that
Very nice!! 👍🏼🙌🏻
Southall is playing catchup to the OG Belgrave road in Leicester. Still number 1 in my eyes and taste spuds and wallet too!
love the videos, but I have always wondered why you wear 2 watches :D
i am italian 😶🌫️
I used to live nearby (until about thirty years ago) and there were a variety of restaurants ranging from basic cafes to top end establishments. The food was always excellent. Doubtless it's only got better.
I’ve lived in Southall since I came here in 1971. You walked straight past my road before entering that Liberty Shopping Mall where you tried the Goan food. Back then there were only a couple of Indian shops. Now there are so many restaurants and clothing shops further along the Broadway and we’ve been to them all. Let me know when you will be coming back next, I will be your or anyone else’s tour guide 😜
Surprised you didnt hit up the corner pubs. Their street food is pretty meh. Corner pubs and restaurants are where it's at
you are back david .
Love your videos & for the first time American accent doesn’t even bother me😂 lolll glad you enjoyed London, do come again!
Do check out Ealing Road Wembley. And also come to Birmingham. But for the best "SPICY DIPPED CHICKEN BURGER", travel to Manchester!!! A must
First comment! Love you man!
love you too bro!
Hey from Goa ❤ happy u tried Goan food..😊
Indian food is the King of Vegetarian Foods😍😍
You came all the way to Southall and missed all the old school hidden gems and just went to random places that pop up and disappear again , Southall has some real old school places which only the true locals know about ! Places serving a humble veg samosa for over 40 years, places serving you a nan with kebab for over 70 years !
All what you showed is for the tourist trade, bit like a hotdog stand in ny
We did have plans for the restaurants you are suggesting. But,we were actually unable to gain access to those places because we had last minute cancellations and ghosting when visiting. We had to do our best, and just explore Southall with a more street food/people focused perspective. Respectfully, and regrettably, I can't control if a restaurant is going to ghost me last minute while I'm there, or simply has decided to change their mind about being filmed. It is a difficulty while making content, but that all said, I think the people are the most important part of this story anyway. Hopefully, for our next visit to London (very soon), we will able to see more of these hidden gems, and of course also Birmingham/some other UK cities. Thanks for the comment as well shsh-he5qg, I do appreciate the constructive feedback.
Totally agree with you. But understand as David said that some restaurants probably didn’t give access. This needs to be planned and with a good local guide.
@shsh-he5qg could you please name a couple of the places you are talking about? I live in East London and decided I'm heading to Southall after seeing this vid
@@christophershooter9674
definitely try savana bavan in the video for the dosa.
Chailwala has a good aloo tikki burger and karak chaa, delhi wala
In the opposite direction going to old Southall Dehliwala has a range of great veg food, samosas chaats etc
Scotsman pub / prince of wales/ the plough offer mixed grills, curries etc. Someone also named the below in another comment which i agree with
1) Shahensha (North Road) - Very popular for Samosas, try the paneer as well as veg. Their Chutney is like gold!
2) ShahiNan Kebab -opposite the regent college and next to Lidl (there are multiple, the best one that remains IMO) - Get a seekh kebab - their Chilli Sauce is where its at!!

Soo happy you enjoyed Goan food! If you come to Goa, I’d love to meet ya and show around the food!
I love Southall.
The sweets especially jalebi is good .
Also visit Leicester -with a large /Asian population and great cafes .
It’s only one part of west London which is mini India 🇮🇳. You have other few. I travel over 1 hour sometimes to have food in Southall.
You should have gone for a Punjabi mix grill at Prince of Wales pub!!
Haha live round the corner love it!
Hey David UK Indian Cuisine is declining rapidly since COVID, if you are still in London go and try Spicy Grill in Bethnal Green for a £6 you can get a Bengali Lamb Biryani with Dall and a drink and man it's beyond flavourful the real home style try it!!!!
Jalebi from Jalebi Junction on Southall Broadway is the best
David your stomach like steel ..enjoy..from Trinidad
Thanks for trying some goan food as well. Hardly mentioned in Indian travel food vlogs or barely if any. And besides that’s a fascinating indian street food scene in London. Would definitely visit one day! Goan here in Nashville TN!😊

I always not only eat, I stay in Southhall.I’ve been coming there for years.Buying spices and go for my food rampage .Next time you there though David don’t ignore those sweet corn vendors, they also got pink cashmere chai with crunchy pistachios flooding on top. That’s exactly what you need after long flight. And yes bus number 105 runs 24/7 from Heathrow terminal 3,it’s full of people looking like from Indian subcontinent,it’s legendary!
Awesome video
I have travelled to over 35 countries myself and I am British born and bred of Pakistani Punjabi heritage, and I lived and worked in London for 10 years and regularly went to Southall but there are other areas in London that has great Indian/Pakistani food like Ilford, Hounslow, Wembley, Forest Gate and East Ham. Other cities with great Asian food scene are Leicester (not far from my house - The Golden Mile), Birmingham (The Balti Triangle) and Bradford - some areas in Manchester too. Southall has a big mix of Pakistanis and Indians.
Pai India or Pakistan da khoraq ik nai si Wa wa farq hegha
@@arhumshamim7753 Well, food in South India are quite different to Gujarat in India. Punjab regions on both sides have similar diet, The Peshawar side is hugely influenced by Afghan cuisines
@@brothersman524 Yeah the vegetarian dishes of both Punjabs are similar like Saag, Chole and the breads are similar but the meat dishes are different. Indian Punjabis don’t eat Karahi, Pulao and the way they cook most Salaan is different as well. Also Afghan food isn’t only similar to Peshawar even the average Punjabi diet is very similar to the Pashtuns the only thing they don’t really eat is saag.
Pakisthani food is not at same as indian.. indian food is totally different and indian food always adapts to the places they sit with original flavour still intact unlike pakisthan arab food
@@navathatula I didn't say it is the same - it is similar with some differences. I eat Gujurati, South Indian and Pakistani food so I do know - even food in Bengal is quite different too. I've visited both countries myself.
Southall seems to be a very interesting place to visit in London.Hope we also see some English food and landmarks as well.
Yes! Tons of traditional English Foods and UK Landmarks coming up, its the majority of the series actually. In fact the best video of this series is an exclusive behind the scenes of possibly the most quintessential London place dating back 1000 years. Stay tuned!
Glad you came to my home town
I love watching you eating indian food than other countries food you look like indian when you eat with your hand lots of love from meghalaya
Do they have the Japoinase cake there made with cashew nut and egg whites?
Great video, you should visit next time the New Asian Tandoori restaurant near the Dominion library famous for its delicious tandoori chicken.

After watching this, I need Indian Food asap, like right now! 🤣❤🙏
Next time you come back please get in Touch id be glad to show you around .
It's great to see that people from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh also call it mini India. That's what the common historic identity is! Outsiders will say South Asia/ Indian subcontinent but they are happy with a simpler and common identity... India ❤
You need to try the Chai shops in Bradford then you can tell me who’s the best👍🏽
Yes, the Kabuli Palau is the best and my favorite. Do you have plans to go to Kabul?

As you love India so much and been there several times - you will love Southall, hope you enjoy it bro 👍🏼
I live a few miles away, there are some very good restaurants , some have been established for years. Southall is worth a visit but its not London, closer to Heathrow Airport. The bulk of new arrivals was not in 1947, but from Idi Amin`s Uganda. He expelled 50,000 Asians who were British passport holders , who then came to the UK, early 1970`s most did settled in Southall and much later other Indians from India.
ohh manas soon as biryani came it reminded me of volpe carloz
