I'm glad you liked it! I know I still love the Big O, regardless of its age, and I hope to spread the love of obscure anime to people who either remember them faintly or may be discovering them today.
I quite enjoyed this video. I liked the little nod that Roger the negotiator, negotiated with the director to reboot the show. I think the ending is really good. This video helped me feel much more confident in my liking of this shows ending.
Thank you, whenever I would look this show up on RUclips, a lot of people would say the ending was nonsensical or bad and I wanted to prove otherwise. I'm glad I'm helping people like the ending as much as I do
I love big O the best anime show I ever watch. This is my number one favorite anime show. I wish they make a season three to put the war version to explain the 40 years ago and see how the war was. Thank you for explaining this I was kind of confusing about the ending and realize it that their universe was not real. I hope I see Roger Smith again. James Bond + Batman = Roger Smith Once again, thank you 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Very good job with this video. Good edits, and I love the way you made the essay sync in length with the scoring. My only criticism is that I would have loved more explanation of how exactly angel is the director of this world.
I appreciate the support and understand that Angel's place in the Big O is a bit odd. And it took me a while to try and cover it in her character analysis( ruclips.net/video/D_IOYRR-CHQ/видео.html ), but basically in episode 25 or 26 (I don't remember off the top of my head) Gordon Rosewater straight up tells angel that "She is a memory" and that "Roger is to negotiate with the one in control of the world [I think he then points to Angel]". A later scene then shows Angel in a Television screening room overlooking various previous scenes in the series showing her to be a producer or director of some kind. It is odd, not given the most details, and kind of quick, but I love just how weird it is.
I still have my old DVD set of this series. Just rewatched the whole thing again. Still as great as I remember it. Thanks for your comments on the ending. I agree with you. Especially now that I’m older, there is so much deep meaning in this series. I see it better now.
The Big O is a true classic and I'm glad you love it too! I know the ending is a bit divisive, but, I myself love it as it ties into the themes and messages of the series so well.
Surprised to see someone is still talking about the Big O. It's one of my favourite anime and the only one that I really enjoy with English dub. I watched it again recently (first time in 5-6 years) and decided to check out review and retrospective videos on YT. Is the fact that I decided to watch it again and you decided to talk about it on YT at the same time just mere coincidence? Or does it mean that some old memories hidden within us reemerged in us from somewhere? Are we tomatoes?
I too rewatched the Big O on a whim and am happy people still remember this series as I thought it almost completely forgotten in the current day. In fact that's why I started this series as the Big O always stuck out to me and I love it. It would seem memories of it just never faded away....
Hey brotha this is a awesome video!! I really liked your commentary and explanation of the ending I really enjoyed this show and I liked it’s ending definitely different and keeps you thinking about it long after it’s done . Thank you for the video
As someone who completed Big O, I found it to be a really interesting story and that ending is certainly one of a kind and personally, I also thought it was also pretty clever of the writers to give a very subtle hint whenever Big O is called onto the screen. Kinda want a sort of spin-off or something but with a story that shows it’s end, it’s definitely difficult to write out another story in the same continuity. I’ll definitely miss that feeling of watching Big O for the 1st time.
Currently watching Big O with a friend and we just made it to episode 14. Only watched a tiny bit of this vid to avoid spoilers but I will be back to binge once I'm done the show!
The music was louder than the commentary. Had to go back a couple times to hear what you said Only leaving this in hopes it inspires better future content
Sorry about the audio issues, my editing skills have gotten a lot better, and I have made a version with fixed audio here, ruclips.net/video/VdJYY6Ss48Y/видео.html
I hope you enjoy it! Also the editing in this old version isn't the best so here is the link to the improved version. ruclips.net/video/VdJYY6Ss48Y/видео.html
So wait . . . It's NOT about Anime Bruce Wayne using giant robots to solve mysteries ? It's actually about an elaborately imaginative coping mechanism which succeeded in the end ? Why didn't anyone TELL me the studio had one of those . . . things?! XD
That's the charm of the series right there! In all fairness while the Big O is not the most coherent story ever, its cohesive enough to enthrall me and I love a good old "what just happened?" moment. I just Love how unconventional the series is!
Unfortunately due to the age and relative obscurity of the show, a lot of streaming services do not have The Big O in the US, though it is on HiDive last I checked. There is always the option of purchasing a physical copy online of course.
I thought it was funny because when it happens in the actual episode it holds on a decent look for like a frame and then hard jumps into bootleg Roger and holds on it for too long. It always stuck out to me
To me it feels rushed and incomplete. The series was supposed to have another season but got canceled for whatever reason. Love it though, just wish it didn't end there.
From a production standpoint, the Big O is definitely not perfect, whether it be the many faces of Alex Rosewater or the fact that it basically got canceled twice but I still love it. I do sometimes wonder how a third season would have played out, but I'm still happy we got 26 episodes worth!
Thanks for the view, I know the audio has some issues, I was so excited to start that I haven't quite mastered Shotcut yet and am recording of a 5-year-old S8. I'm still learning the platform, but I have learned some of the audio component, and (think) its getting better. Hope you enjoy any of my other videos.

The fact that this was made one month ago and ppl watch makes me happy. Ppl still love this show

Hey brotha this is a awesome video!! I really liked your commentary and explanation of the ending I really enjoyed this show and I liked it’s ending definitely different and keeps you thinking about it long after it’s done . Thank you for the video
I'm glad that you also liked the ending!!! I think its the thing that stood out to me the most and I'm glad others are still interested in this series
Thank you for the video, just finished the anime and your video helped me out understanding the ending, very good and the OST is very epic.
Glad I could help you out, I always felt the ending was really weird, but I guess that''s why I liked it

I too fondly remember the great impact the ending had on me the first time I saw it.
This is one of the Japanese hauntolgical SF I've been loving until today. Thank you for telling me.
I'm Glad you enjoyed it and I'm glad I could tell of it!
Algorithm comment, love Big-O. Cheers and may you always Stand a Chance.
I thank you for the good will and comment, I'm glad you enjoyed my little look at the series
Currently watching Big O with a friend and we just made it to episode 14. Only watched a tiny bit of this vid to avoid spoilers but I will be back to binge once I'm done the show!
I love the feeling at the end of the series when you just go "They really did that"
Missed opportunity to put we have come to terms at the end of the video
That's a great idea for the Final video of this series!
I remember watching this show a bit ago, I'm gonna rewatch because I like it, it's definitely one of my favorites.
I feel that; even though I know how it ends I feel I could re watch it several times over
The music was louder than the commentary. Had to go back a couple times to hear what you said

I hope you enjoy it! Also the editing in this old version isn't the best so here is the link to the improved version. ruclips.net/video/VdJYY6Ss48Y/видео.html
Love the Big O unfortunately sunrise company went out of business so they couldn't make a season 3.
At least it lives on in our memories

thanks dude.
Thanks for Watching!
Good stuff.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, hopefully it continues to get better.
Music is too loud. Can barely hear what you are saying 😭
No worries, I have since learned how to balance audio on shotcut and have gotten around to re-releasing this with competent audio.
@@obscureanimememories6697 is the new audio version out yet

which episode is it?
It occurs in episode 2 right after Roger rescues Dorothy

Great analysis. Terrible use of the music. Please learn from this and turn down your background music or turn up your mic volume.

Fix your Audio brah
I wanna watch your content but audio does need a boost.
