Thank You Big Ron you gave a tiny, skinny 12 year old from South Birmingham the greatest day of my life as Kevin Richardson lifted the first major honour in my lifetime. Then Townsend lifted it two years later with Brian “Walks on Water” Little as boss. Best few years of my life 94-2000. RIP Dalian Atkinson you single handily won that trophy for Aston Villa with vital, vital goals in both Semi-Finals, Final, 3rd Round, 4th Round.
Was at both semi final legs v tranmere - the second leg was the biggest Villa rollercoaster I’ve been on - tranmere were a spot kick away from Wembley but bozzy came up with the goods- every goal we scored I’d end up 20 yards forward in the Holte end and then miraculously return back to my original spot. Was very hard to smoke a ciggy due to no room for arm movement!!!! Wembley was brilliant- great memories
I was devastated when deadly sacked Big Ron , I remember switching on the news and they're interviewing Ron , he comes out with this morning I was shopping for Collymore this afternoon im shopping for cauliflower 😂😂😂.(that clip must be somewhere!!??) Took everything in his stride , thanks for the Memory's Ron loved your tenure ❤❤
That team of Big Ron's is the best team I have ever watched at VP. I was at the semi final and final, what a time to be a Villa fan. It was a travesty when he got sacked. I remember being completely devastated when the news broke. Thanks Ron and all the members of the team at that time.
Was an amazing time to be a Villa fan then. So many heroes. Bosnich, perhaps the most important. So many magical moments. That cup run was incredible, had to face some decent teams on the way and a roller-coaster semi-final. Big Ron and his team were a delight. Can't believe it's 30 years ago. How time flies. Thanks Big Ron. You created memories that were so important to so many Villa fans.
That early round against Sunderland inspired me to be a goalkeeper as a kid, I was obsessed with bosnich because of this cup run, but particularly Sunderland and tranmere. I would love to see a modern remake of that bosnich shirt, I still have mine
Great video. The Tranmere 2nd leg semi is stil my favourite Villa game. But what is going on with the chapter titles at the bottom of the video?! 'How good was Paul McGeady', 'What kind of player was Dennis Bergkamp', 'Graham Dorrans', 'John King' etc???? I think you mean Paul McGrath, Dalian Atkinson, Graham Fenton. Such strange errors!
The 2 minutes of added on time turning into "as long as Man Utd need in order to win" is not talked about enough. Pretty much match fixing that went completely under the radar. Wouldn't get away with it today. To think how things could have turned out if Villa had won that first PL title.
I hope the 1994 cup winners will be honoured at a home game this season. Great times to be a Villan back then.
You can see the pride oozing out of him, absolutely brilliant 👏👏👏
Great to see Big Ron back at the villa
Tranmere semifinal still sends a tingle down my spine 😊 Remember having a sore throat for three days after the final. Great memories 😊
Remake the 94 home and away shirts with adidas this summer it’ll be a belter. Love this Villa shirt.
