I thought about a lot of what this guys saying. Especially the fact that in Acts the focus shifts from Peter to Paul, Paul wrote much of the new testament and the rock on which the Christian faith is founded on is Jesus the christ(hence, believers are called Christian's not peterians) just as the new testament clearly states but Catholics call Peter the rock.
Pastor Mike, you have presented some clear and valid points in your sermon, to show that Peter was not alone in his recognizing Our Lord Jesus as the Son of the living God, but I was waiting to hear you mention John the Baptist who very early on, even before Christ appointed the 12 as his disciples, He called Jesus the Son of God! Here it is recorded in, John 1:34 "And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God." Maybe right there on the spot Jesus could have appointed John the Baptist as the first Pope even before all the others?
Peter, Πέτρος (Petros) Noun - Nominative Masculine Singular Strong's Greek 4074: Peter, a Greek name meaning rock. Apparently a primary word; a rock; as a name, Petrus, an apostle.
@@CastleOfThoughts I thought that the translation was a stone. I know that they are similar things, but one verse that is highly debatable is all Roman Catholicism has to back up their claim? All of these questions that brother Mike scribe asked are very valid. And in my opinion they deconstruct the argument that Peter is the first pope.
PETRA = BEDROCK or Massive Rock - not an individual stone ! PETROS = PETER = A piece of Rock or small Stone ! As a one time Catholic, your thank you Mike for your thorough explanation.
@@gtabraham3454 My own belief is that is was Simon The Sorcerer rather than Simon Peter, who wound up in Rome as the first Pope. It is important to remember that this Simon DID NOT REPENT of his error. There is not the slightest hint that he gave up believing that he had divine right to be an Apostle.
dino eldin jr. d. delantar I believe they are saved. They are in love with Jesus. No matter what. There was no RUclips and nobody knew any better back in the day. In my opinion they love GodJesus so they are saved. My whole family were catholic. I am no but they loved Jesus and as far as rev Kim says faith in Jesus is all you need.
mountainfolk2511 But the thing is Catholic believe you have to do works to be saved. It’s not just faith alone. Therefore most Catholics are lost. I have talked to some Catholics who sound like they believe grace through faith alone for salvation but that’s probably only because they don’t know what there Church teaches.
Most are probably not saved..they believe in a different Jesus. not the biblical Jesus...most don't read the bible, most pray to idols, most do not trust Jesus but themselves ..most do not know what born again is. Most continue in their sin etc etc etc
@@jackh.6217 You may theologically disagree with Pope Francis, at least show some respect. I was not talking about Latin, Jacobean English has holdovers from Anglo Saxon and Middle English. Why use syntax and verb forms that are no longer in use? After all, God created English and is not stuck in 1611. Some who promote the Authorised Version border on idolatry. Ask Francis why Latin is still used.
Aaaaaaaaaamen, Aaaamen, Amen!!! Praise the Lord Jesus Christ! Thank you Pastor Mike.

Excellent deconstruction of Catholic Reasoning! Keep it up!

Because it was changed by the Catholic Church. replace "rock" with "truth" and you get the truth.
Catholic church got taken over by. Satan when the pope said abortions are ok

Stuck in 1611? We no longer use Jacobean English.
PJBearstein Latin is a dead language. Why does the poop use it for mass?

PJBearstein we can sit here and argue semantics all day. the real question is, are you saved? What are you trusting in to get to heaven?
