    Sending my ECM today. Hopefully this does the trick. For years I’ve seen folks in blogs post that they developed misfires and then a large plume of smoke out the exhaust. I always assumed it was a head gasket leak or turbo failure. This makes a lot of sense. Probably the easiest part I’ve ever removed from this saab.

    In order for this repair to last (you might get lucky without doing it though), the mofsets for the injectors and the ignition coils need to be replaced too. Being these have a thin film PCB and live on aluminum, replacing those are a bit more difficult. Also, you should make sure when doing these the customer replaces the plugs and coils and perfoms the ecm relocation procedure. Good luck.

    Hi Nick. My daughter's 2006 Saab 93 has a mid-throttle misfire. Driving down the highway...it runs fine. Give it partial throttle, it stumbles and shakes. Floor it and it goes fine. We installed new Bosch plugs and new coil packs. While the CEL is out now, in the past, she had the P0201 code. Does it sound like the ECU could be the cause of the problem? If so, what is your turnaround time?

    • @NicksTVRepair
      @NicksTVRepair  11 месяцев назад

      I am sorry this one seems like there may be more at play and would have to recommend you find a local shop that can take a look at it. Unless it's currently and actively throwing P0201, P0202, P0203, P0204, P0245, or P0300 then I won't work on it.
      3-5 business days is the typical turn around time.

      Hi Nick, a lot of people in the Saab forums are saying a code P1682 is a bad ECU also (stalls at when idle and/or won't crank intermittently). What's your experience with that code?

    • @Wildwwill
      @Wildwwill 8 месяцев назад +1

      That sounds like something wrong with injector #1. Bad wiring/connection or perhaps a dirty or bad injector.

      @@WildwwillJust seeing this! I'll check that out. It really does sound specific. Also, heaven forbid I fill the tank up... it'll choke right away and stall out. I replaced the purge valve (found out the old one was fine -- I could not blow through it) and I replaced the gas tank).

      The car is a 2003 Saab 9-3 I was getting the full enchilada of codes being thrown p2135, p1681 and all of the above codes for the injectors and and stuff. I believe I’ve resolved the 2135/1681 from the info I gathered they are both related to the tps sensor on the throttle body and/or the accelerator pedal itself, so I replaced both and they haven’t come back but the rest of the codes are still very much there. I’m interested in sending the ecu to be repaired if you are available.

If I have issues with removal I will add leaded solder to all of the joints first to help and also you can use both solering iron and hot air at the same time if only hot air doesn't do the trick. In this video the chip had been replaced prior so it was a lot easier since all of the solder was leaded.

    • @NicksTVRepair

      Those are codes we have not yet been able to service. My understanding is that those codes are due to either damaged wiring, a bad ground connection, or a faulty ECM/PCM. If the ECM is defective it can be due to bad connection of the processor to the PCB. If that is the case, it would be a very advanced and difficult repair.
      I would first recommend confirming the issue is definitely with the ECM and once you can confirm that, fill out the contact form on our website or contact us directly to our support email. The info for our contact info is in the video description. We can go over option with you from there.
