Bill Hader might have been born to play "Increasingly irritated straight man Vincent Price"! I wish there were more of these.
Chris Buchanan got some news for you about the “straight” part...
lifeisthepit
its a character type
Fizz .... way to overreact. Afterbirth.
there really, really do........
proud to be the 666th like
Can't believe Bill Hader was only 27 in this sketch?! So young and so brilliant!
brell 2-1-5 this aired in 2005...?
WAIT WHAT!?
He is an old soul, you can tell by his skill and patience. Kristen wig is also something special!!
It doesn't matter if he was 27 or 34 he was still amazing!!!
@brell 2-1-5 They posted it in 2013, but this is from his first season. I think it's Kristen's first episode, or very early on, so 2005
"Oh, she's on the floor now! Am I the only one seeing this?". Classically funny!!!!
I miss Bill Hader on SNL.
bisquitnspanky Yeah, I mainly enjoyed his impressions and facial expressions.
+Steve Shaha He is not on SNL anymore?
Sadly, he left the show a while back.
Steve Shaha Didn't know that. To bad, he fitted SNL perfectly.
I'll say.
This was one of Kristen's and Bill's early apperances as featured players. You can tell at this point that they were meant to stay and become one of SNL's most talented cast members.
Kristen's 5th, according to Hader in an interview.
This is one of their earlier appearances?
Their performances are so polished.
Two of
@@Evija3000 I've been trying to find the interview everywhere! I saw it once and how he mimicked her written line. Do you know if it was on the Conan special?
@@guaiguai0076 Lol no idea, my comment is 4 years old.
I just lost it at "Take your time buddy anytime". absolutely hilarious.
Me too. Hahaha!😂
I agree and I hit the rewind several times even snorted
Every time 😂😂😂
Almost positive that was just Hader ad-libbing in character
Why do I feel like Vincent Price really had to deal with this
Because the impressions are so impeccable......feels surreal! It's like when you watch Alec Baldwin do a really correct impression of Trump, you feel......did Trump really say that?
because a lot of actors did and still do.
:D
One gets the impression Price was the sanest person amongst these crazies.
I feel like that too
Bill Hader is amazing as always and Eva Longoria playing Lucille Ball is surprisingly very good
I didn't know who that was. That was funny.
I didn't realize it was she who was playing Lucille. She was great!
I love that they defy convention by having Hispanic Eva Longoria playing white Lucille Ball and white Fred Armisen playing Hispanic Desi Arnez
@@shawnuel Fred Armisen is white?
@@murderc27 Oh yeah... I guess not.
And Vincent Price is the sanest person in the room. That's the really horrifying part of his show. :D
Very true!
His speaks what we think 😂
Chris Greer - Actor
@Chris Greer It's not ignorant. It's ironic
...........thats the joke
Lucy: But Ricky...WAAAAAHHHH!!
Vincent: Well, I can't say I didn't see that one coming.
GEORGE! WHY WON'T YOU LOOK AT ME GEORGE!
DON'T YOU REMEMBER PARIS GEORGE?? OH!! OH OH!!
😂😂😂
Love Pantera
OMG, Fred Armison hit the nail on the head with his Desi Arnaz impression. I absolutely adore Bill Hader, he is just perfect as Vincent Price and Kristen is over the top as usual, just comedic genius!
They're both extremely talented.
Fred Armisen can impersonate anyone. It's crazy how good he is at nailing the voices and mannerisms of almost any celebrity. The guy is a chameleon. And thanks to his mixed heritage (Venezuelan mother and Korean-German father), he can convincingly portray celebrities from many different backgrounds.
Wow, Eva did a great Lucy.
Eva who? Wow what a knockout
@@sunofpeter2 Eva Longoria
Lucy as Lucy Ricardo, anyway. Lucille Ball wasn't like that irl.
She's HORRID.
@@jenniferdonlin6627 She captured the grating, irritating, whiny essence.
Anyone else feel that Bill Hader would've fit in perfectly with 20's-50's cinema and entertainment? Everything he does set in that time is so believable.
These skits made it on air 100% because of Bill Hader's talent, and not because they appealed to SNL's mainstream audiences.
I am a big fan of Vincent Price, and Bill Hader does a spot on impersonation of him! Just awesome!
funny yes but not a very good impersonation vocal of Mr. Price. Funny none the less
Modern Savage25 Some comedians are better at mimicry than others.
@@cha5 He does a killer Jabba the Hut though. And lots of Star Wars aliens
I thought Bill Hader's voice characterization of Vincent Price was pretty good.
The voice of Vincent Price was soooooooo right on.
Even Vincent himself couldn't help but be awestruck if he were still alive.
The "hands made of sand" kills me every time I watch this -- so loopy and yet so dead-on. Also, the scratchy celluloid effects are perfect.
Judy was a drug addict wasn't she ?
Oh my gosh Kristen yelling at the portrait. XD
"You're not helping, Gable!" Lol
I always had the feeling these Vincent Price sketches went over everyone's head...But they were brilliant...It's not that much of a stretch to imagine that Mr. Price, a pretty formidable actor, ended up doing some low-grade t.v. special that was way beneath his skill, and kinda pissed him off...
I have a feeling you would looooove Rick and Morty....
He did a game show called Wordplay in 1987 just so they could make him say the word "rackabones". It was a decent game show but you imagine someone that accomplished doing that?
@Charlie Charlie Mid-30s and I mostly just watched a fair bit of Nick at Nite, but still my cultural osmosis has been good enough that I love these skits
Charlie Charlie You had six stations? Lucky! We had three. (Sometimes four, if the weather was just right.)
@@njnjhjh8918 Yeah, I'm 25 and grew up on all of these actors too
Why does Vincent Price keep inviting his wayward friends to his parties when they won't act right😂 lmao 🤣 hilarious...
Kristen Wiig-"Do you ever get the feeling your hands are made out of sand."lolololol
Im so glad price hasnt been forgotten in todays pop culture
How could anyone forget him?
Sean Ashmead i hope youre right
Michael Jackson used the real Price on the beginning o his"Thriller" song @@Tabish29
@@yettaplotz2155 umm.....that was 1983 or 84.
@@Tabish29 I honestly don't think you have to worry about Vincent Price being forgotten any time soon. He had an incredibly distinctive voice (and look), did plenty of screen work which will stick around for a long time (if not forever) and was just generally a significant pop culture icon for around 4 decades up until his death. If people can still remember Peter Lorre nowadays, they'll certainly be able to remember Vincent Price for decades as well.
Plus, 'Thriller' may be almost 40 years old but it's one of the western world's most popular songs and is constantly being played at discos and parties especially around Halloween, which means that most people will hear Price's voice several times a year.
I wish Price was still with us. He would've enjoyed this.
I miss Vincent Price too. He was fun to watch on TV when I was a kid.
Imagine a cameo by the real Price on this show
Especially if he played someone else
Yes, Vincent would have gotten a big kick out of this! He had a great sense of humor, contrary to the the image people had of him. I remember when he made guest appearances on the Dean Martin roasts, specials, comedy shows and several appearances on The Carol Burnett Show....funny stuff! 🤣
Wow that was Kristen's second show! She's really great.
Huong Phung Giang She never wanted to do comedy too! She fell into it by accident and turned out to be a natural!
This is one of Bill's first shows, too. It's amazing how quickly they were both able to hit the ground running on this show.
Side note, I remember the first thing I really took notice of Kristen in was I think on the episode after this one where she played Megan Mullally in a Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting sketch.
Laura Caskey it was a magical time on SNL. They went from a great cast in Hammond, Stanz, Fallon, Fey to an even greater cast in Hader, Wiig, Armisen, Meyers, Thompson, Moynehan and Beyer.
5:45 Desi (Fred) says "Conchale vale, cantando asi como un perrito!" Which means "Oh my god (or anything like that: "for god's sake", "crying out loud",etc), singing just like a little dog!"
Thank you for the translation!

kristen wiigs judy garland is sadly pretty accurate.
Very sad
She went a bit to far over the rainbow I guess.
@@cpt_nordbart Oh yeah. She was way up high.
The one that really impressed me was Ariana Grande. Her Garland was so good, and she even sang and danced like her. Blew my mind
ruclips.net/video/7E5QXkkF5-U/видео.html
Sure, the lines are hilarious, but can we please give more credit to Kristen/Judy’s mannerisms?? Her facial expression and fluffing her hair after the “hands are made of sand” line is the funniest shit I’ve ever seen on SNL 😂
What are you even talking about? Give more credit? This isnt a contest to see who did best....geez. Its an entire ensemble of people that make this skit...not just her.
@@avidadolares ok let me translate for the recreational outraged..
Not only are the impressions spot on, but I also think Kristen Wiig’s mannerisms are. impressive. too.
Ya don’t have to take the world so literally. Jesus.
I bet life is miserable for people who get offended by the smallest shit. 🤦🏻♀️
The Judy Garland impression was hilarious!
do you ever get the feeling your hands are made up of sand? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bill said that's the line she improvised when he asked her if she could do Judy.
"in my dreams my fingers are made of butter" - Kristen Wiigs Bjork
Made up?
Is that part of the play or are you asking me?
Renee Zellweger's got nothin on Kristen Wiig's Judy. LOL!
I love that Chesterfield dancing Cigarette pack with the white gloves.
I love how Vincent Price is always the only normal one in these!
"Most Doctors recommend Chesterfields cigarettes" lol
😄.
What's funny is that in the 50s, cigarette brands did carry supposed endorsements from doctors
@@gpippind I used to see nurses & other medical staff smoking alongside patients outside hospitals & clinics. Now no 1 can smoke within 25ft or so of said facilities.
I just love the slight lisp on ‘Cheshterfield Shigaretteshhhhh’ and the squeaky shoes as she sidles off!
Wow, Bill nailed the voice as well as anyone could
ok but Fred saying "conchale vale" makes my venezuelan heart melt, te amo venezuela
I love this. Everybody was so pilled out/wasted back then..... Realm of possibility lol
This and the Halloween special are, ahem, priceless. It was always nice to see, that even in a gentle, comical way, Vincent Price was not lost to history. Before Mr. Price began almost a second career in horror films (a number of which are considered to be classics), he was a top notch dramatic actor with many movie credits to his name. I suspect if he would have still been with us when these SNL sketches were done, he would have enjoyed them.
"take your time buddy, anytime, you know, no rush"
That part had my dying lol
Kristen wiig's impersonation of judy is so funny! Best thanksgiving play ever! Haha

Darrell Hammond did great Clark Gable there, as usual
My favorite Bill Hader role hands down! And that eyebrow is very talented and Eva did a great job
My god, Amy Poehler's 12 seconds were incredible 3:47
Bill Hader always brings a smile to my face!
Bill Hader as Price is the gift that keeps on giving! You can imagine this as the after-after party from Blackout Wednesday in Tinseltown on KTLA back in the day.
The Bill Hader Vincent Price holiday specials are awesome!
Woah wait that Clark Gable voice was perfect
+Ukuleledeparis Travel Yeah. But, "The Misfits" didn't go into production until 1960.
Guess in the SNL Universe that "The Misfits" went into production much earlier.
That's Darrell Hammond for ya
The misfits was actually made in February 1961 lol....guess it helped with the script to fudge it
I thought it was Sean Connery
who makes 12 second cigeratte commercials chesterfield.

My mother has a Vincent Price cookbook. He and his wife were big travelers and fans of cuisine and cooking.
These Vincent Price sketches are precious 😂
Love these Vincent Price specials (from 15 years ago already). Wish Hader would come back and do more.
Kristen cracks me up, even though she is supposed to be playing different known actresses of the time, they seem to share the same types of quirks that Kristen loves to exploit. God she's funny.

its funny that vincent price came out the most normal compared to his guests.
“Conchale vale cantando así como un perrito”. Grande Fred Armisen, de familia venezolana, un campeón
“I love this, Bill… but, why now??” - Lorne Michaels 😂😂
Bill Hader does some marvelous impressions! The entire Vincent Price Specials are excellent! Leave to SNL to make you smile and laugh!
It's sad that pretty much anyone under the age of 40 has no idea how incredible these impressions were.
I'm 35 and I understand the impressions entirely. Kristin's Judy Garland impression was amazing. and I loved Eva's Lucy Ball. when I was little I watched I Love Lucy all the time. she was the reason I wanted to get into acting, comedy mostly. I'd memorize the lines and perform skits at school. I loved it.
i'm 38 and recently rediscovered vincent price's Mystery! hosting gig from the 80's, but... yeah i guess your point still pretty much stands.
nah man, I'm 18 and I grew up watching the shows they're referencing. perks of not having cable as a kid I guess 😅
Huh, these are characters from the 50's. You'd need to be like 80 for them to be memoires from their time. Everyone knows these because when you record things, they can be watched for years after.
I hear you.
I'm 33, but a teacher of great culture showed us The Masque of the Red Death when we were in freshman year high school.
I saw more of his movies and was delighted to find out that Vincent Price's movies were based on Edgar Allan Poe's writings ( I'd been a Poe reader since 7th grade! ). Price will never truly be dead as long as we pass down his legacy to our young to show them what real actors were like.
Big fan of Bill Hader.
The impressions are fantastic!
Kirsten wigg almost killed me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💯💯💯💯
Kristen Wiig is an unbelievably talented impressionist!
This is my favorite Vincent Price Special Skit. Kristen Wiig as Judy Garland has me in need of a respirator!!! 🤣😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣⚰️
OMG, I've been looking for this for awhile now! Bill Hader is a natural Vincent Price.
He gets increasingly frustrated with each guest and it gets funnier every time I watch it.
We are back!? Whl makes 2 second commercials.
I love how he is trying to be scary but he is just pissed lol 😂
Eva as Lucille is surprisingly pretty good!
The rest as usual we’re just killing it!!!
Who was the guy who played Gable?
Darrel Hammond
Bill Hader-"Take your time buddy anytime."lol
Kristin never ever disappoints , nor does bill 😂 Hitchcock being her babysitter is just brilliant 😂
Just now came across this for the first time. This is real talent on display, kids. And Longoria was a real surprise as--Lucy??!!! Wow!
Bill Hader is brilliant as always. Watching this sketch again, I can't believe how much Bill looks like a young Omar Sharif.
The Desi impersonation was pretty good.
