The way Bobby as the "creature" jumps into the pose everytime is just so funny...
This made the whole sketch for me. It was funny the first time, but then each time it was repeated, it just accentuated the sillyness, building it up like a Jenga joke!
@MissX W So what are we supposed to do then? It's not disrespectful or wrong, it's a normal practice. I'm not gonna say mr Moynihan.
Pardon me, Miss. But I strongly doubt any SNL performers, past or present, reads these comments, so I doubt they're offended.
Besides that, I could be wrong but, Bobby Moynihan doesn't seem like the type to get all huffy and say: "That's MISTER Moynihan to you!"
Classic John Belushi pose. Almost every heavy guy on SNL since Belushi emulates him in some way or another, even Jim Belushi.
Pearl Jam joining in was the icing on the cake
All joking aside, in 1962 this was an incredibly frightening episode of Twilight Zone, when special effects weren't as sophisticated as now. I was a kid at the time, and it scared the crap out of me, more than any other single episode of the show.
I was born in 95 and as a little kid it was really creepy, even the simpsons parody was a bit. Twilight Zone was probably my favorite show growing up.
I was born in 80 and it scared me too, then the Simpsons episode did lol. I think it's continued to scare kids for decades
I saw it in 2019, fuck the so called “not ad sophisticated” effects, this episode is damn scary for how nerve wrecking it was. Its an amazing episode that had me to the edge of the seat. Thats how you do a good thriller.
I first saw this at age 10 the night before a longhaul flight overseas. I was terrified as I went to bed and the next day. That night it was the same weather as in this skit. I flew with my mom. I never told her or my dad that I was scared or why. I just spent the entire 9 hour flight too scared to look out the window
This one scared me. The one where they went back into time and saw dinosaurs fascinated me.
Bill Hader never ceases to amaze me with his talent - his voice box is insane. It seems like whenever SNL needs a voice no one can do they just give it to Bill.
No such thing as a "voice box".
@@Cukito4Well of course there’s no such thing as a voice box besides in toys but what are supposed to call it the larynx? Nobody wants to call it by it’s scientific name what’s the fun in a larynx if you can call it a voice box and choose not to voice box is a common dialect people call the larynx obviously there’s no such thing
He is my celebrity crush
I could do that voice or something just as good. Certainly didn't resemble Rod Serling.
Jude Law's facial expressions and arm gestures every time he looks out the window is hysterical. It's priceless when Pearl Jam gets in on the act.
The way the gremlin takes a scary position kills me😁😁
That is funny, especially the one with Pearl Jam😊
@Jesper Jacobsen lame
You can tell he's a trained killer.
And he didn't drop the ash tray.
Watch the Twilight Zone episode this is riffing. The actual episode is even more hilarious because the monster looks even worse and William Shatner is chewing up all of the scenery as only he could.
Something about this just doesn't seem realistic. I mean look how much leg room everyone has.
Fun fact
That had to do with the heavy regulation that the FAA put on airlines that kept ticket prices and profits high, meaning airlines could afford to fly with few passengers.
An airline called PSA avoided those heavy federal regulations by operating flights entirely within California, soon they had imitators like South West Airlines in Texas.
This gave people an appetite for low cost flying, buses in the sky.
The government started the process of deregulation in the late 70s.
The benefit: more flights to more locations at a lower price that could move more people
The trade off: leg room
_There are no solutions, only trade offs_

@@kendomyers I was on a 2 level plane, 8 seats across, in 1960. It's not like we all waltz on a biplane back in the day son. Plenty of open space for the attendants to get through distractions or stopping forces. And leg room, we commonly fit suitcases in front of us, and we had a panel table that came down from the wall, like a Murphy bed. Elegant.
Thunder'sDad, 😄😄
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar
Ah the biplane, the days of gentlemen's aviation
Hader's Rod Serling impression is fantastic lmao
Jude Law's American voice is very similar to Christoher Lloyd
*GREAT SCOTT!!! You're right!*
Genius
I think that he was trying to do a Shatner impression
I can’t unhear it now
Originally, Shatner played the role in the Twilight Zone episode.
Pearl Jam's appearance is so random and hilarious hahaha
is there some reference behind that joke or is it just like that :D
im sure they were musical guests
@@OtherGameVideo they were musical guests ahha
@@OtherGameVideo Maybe the Anthrax video?
So that's who those group of people were with Bobby moniyhan on the wing, cool🙂
I feel like they missed an opportunity at the end; I really wanted the gremlin-guy to look out his window and also see something! If only they got William Shatner on the show! How epic if the gremlin saw Shatner out on the wing!
I was thinking the same. He'd look out the window and see something!
We were thinking the same thing , lol.
The Shatner twist, especially, would have been great ~ particularly if he were wearing that same silly costume! 🙂
I would have found it funny if William Dafoe was on the wing in his non masked green goblin persona that his character sees in the mirror.
I was definitely thinking he was going to see something else out the window lol
This is actually pretty intense, they nailed The Twilight Zone perfectly.
right! where's john lithgow?
@@heatherstarling1653 i was going for the first remake in the movie

lmao those fucking face expressions when he looks out the window. too good.
Lmao yes. 1:11 made me lol
They're called "facial" expressions.

Jude Law nails that 1950s over-the-top expressions actors used to employ.
he totally killed it yea lol
He did his best Shatner ;)
He's enormous!!!!!!
The man can is an incredible backtor, this was a piece of cake for him.
No, he is just doing William Shatner. Canadian ham on a plane.

"I think it likes fish!" XD
"It's exercising! It's toning up! It's healthy and... dangerous!" OMG XDD

@@Moose__-xk8zz It was beautifully done. Spine-tingling special effects makeup.
Doesn’t anybody else ever wonder how these types of skits look to a live audience?
The same. This is a pre recorded video.
No this was all done live. They have sets around the stage. I've been there 6 times it's awesome.
@@Knulppage yeah so how does it work...
@@Knulppage they do have pre recorded they have mentioned it quite a few times
@@canadianmoth Yes they do prerecorded stuff, but when they do it's obvious. You can clearly see with the timing that this is live. You can also see that these are sets. You have the view from the front. You have a camera outside that set looking into his window. And somewhere separate but likely nearby, you have the set with the wing. Prerecorded stuff you can see they are in a room somewhere else, or outside, or it's heavily edited in a way that cannot be live. Just look...you can tell.
I was kinda expecting the monster thing to look out the window and see something as well as if the cycle will continue
Me too...that passenger (Jude Law)...lol...would have been a perfect Twilight Zone twist! ;D
Yep would’ve been neat if the monster looked out and saw William Shatner in the monster role from the original episode. Lol 😂
I thought that as well....
honestly, nightmare at 20,000 feet terrified me as a kid. Jude Law kills it in this homage lol
This is one of the best sketches I've seen and I only just discovered it in 2020.
I didn't know Jude Law hosted SNL.
I only discovered it in 2021.
@@afgaming6375 Me too. It's hard to mine Old SNLs
I'm just seeing this in 2021
You REALLY have to subscribe to SNL & get caught up...no REALLY.
Tough room ... I mean this is one of the rare instances where Jude Law is actually funny on SNL; his expressions are priceless, and no one of the audience seems to be laughing at that or at his comments on what the creature is doing, they only laugh at Bobby Moynihan's character, don't get me wrong I love Bobby but Jude Law was equally funny
ruclips.net/video/i1PikITKKYY/видео.html
"actually"
Sometimes they shoot these sketches wo an audience, if it's too technical to do live. This also could've been from the "dress rehearsal" . It's pretty well made..
1:49
I love that lunatic smile he gets when he looks out the window
Jude Law was sooooo good, Bobby as the gremlin was sooooo good, *AND* Pearl Jam on the wing had me literally crying I was laughing so hard!! 🤣🤣🤣 *Why don't I remember such a funny skit??*
Because you.... are in THE TWILIGHT ZONE.
fue genial el ultimo salto en grupo XD
Jude Law's Shatner impression is almost TOO good, he's hilarious!
It really wasn't a Shatner impression, he was just playing the same part in his own way.
My dad was a Twilight Zone fan and he loved this episode. So did I. I noticed that Rod Serling always had a cigarette in his hand when he was narrated.
Of course he did. The smooth cool taste of a Lucky Strike cigarette comes as the only cigarette thats toasted. Serling preferred them, so should you! Lucky Strike.
Loved jude's reaction when he looks out the window. And every time Bobby went into attack position I lost it more and more 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I half expected that Bobby would start seeing something on the wing
LMAO ...I would lose it every time the 'creature' would pose

Jude's definitely channelling Shatner in this.
Totally, I would love Shatner remake also... 😊
@Woody Last Name Only by a loud mouthed online minority band wagon group
As someone who lives in SC, I agree about Myrtle Beach!
Joking aside, the costume we see here is pretty much on a par with the costume they used in the original episode.
So true. George Miller's version was so much better - all because of the costume effects.
The gesture the creature does have me laughing every time.
The 60s were pretty rough on non smokers (:
Even the 90s were still pretty bad (in some places).
Nah, noone was a cunt about it like today
Know what's so stupid is nowadays they don't promote smoking ads in our country but they boost drinking ads. So if u smoke and drive u will get home safe and not beat your wife, but if you drink and drive and are prone to alcohol aggression that's OK. Double standards, so much spent on non smoking campaigns when we have real issues.
@@peterbach1126 No one was a cunt about what?
Well 2019 is pretty rough for SMOKERS...
The gremlin from the twilight zone is an esoteric impression, but Bobby nailed it.
I saw the original version on tv when I was little. It was the most terrifying thing I've ever saw! For many years and up to my adult life, I was afraid to open the curtains in night time!!
Credit to Jude Law on the awesome Shatner impression
OMG this is my all time favourite version weirdly enough I thought it was the scariest one. And hilarious too especially the part with Pearl Jam.
Really? George Miller's gremlin looked awesome, I thought. As good as 1982's Creepshow's monster in "The Crate".
Jeffrey M. You should read Disney’s Gremlins.
His acting was spot-on with actors of this decade, specifically in his delivery.
Jude is a very talented actor. He did a great job this episode.
The guy in the back seat at the end was checking out Nassim wayyyy too much.
He can't stop looking haha
She looked especially scrumptious in this sketch. Can't blame the guy.
It does appear as if he's peeping cakes, but he continues to do the same looks in that direction after she goes in the back.
No I wasn't.
she has a nice shape.
BTW, for you youngsters out there, the creature guy was doing
a wonderful jump-and-pose tribute to the late great John Belushi.
Animal House
Richard Donner did such a great job directing the actual episode, he will be missed.
He did that? 😭 How great.
He is missed already.
'' It's healthy and... dangerous"!!
That gets me, like eνerytime..
Jude's expressions are like a chef's kiss
This is actually brilliant. Captures the essence of the original TZ episode with some fantastic comedy beats undercutting the weird dark drama.
Jude sold that fear... very well.
Didn't crack once despite the shenanigans.
AWW JUDE ..WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS SOOOO SMOKIN HAWTTT!!!
They missed the chance to have a great ending: they should have had the gremlin look out the window and see William Shatner on the wing, dressed in a tuxedo and singing "Rocket Man".
When he sees the gremlin, he strikes a scary pose. I think Shatner would have agreed to do that....
The drawback is that 'The Shatner Ego' would never allow it...he simply can't stand to be 'spoofed' or made to look ridiculous for any reason.
(the 'Rocket Man' thing would be great...or maybe 'McArthur Park' or 'Age of Aquarius' )
"grilled cedar plank salmon"
😂🤣😂🤣😂
Jude Law should play Cary Grant in a biopic
It would definitely help that they’re both from England!
“it’s toning up! It’s seems healthy and dangerous!”
Hader got swag
Watch out it’s a bird it’s a plane, no wait it’s Eddie Vedder.
When Pearl Jam showed up it felt/looked like something out of Twin Peaks lol
Yo this shits hilarious. I love how the monster jumps into that crouch position after being spotted every time.
I lost it when Pearl Jam jumped into the crouch position too lmao
"It's toning up, it seems healthy and dangerous." Lmao
I never thought that I would find another great Hader skit.
I must expand my collection!
The great part about the sketch is that the Gremlin was kinda rude to him when he came on the plane but he was still willing to give up his seat to Mr and Mrs Gremlin. That's just nice
Jude Law’s facial reactions to Bobby’s weirdness crack me up every time 😂😂😂
The Pearl Jam bit was priceless
And at the end when Hader said a man was killed by falling members of Pearl Jam was hilarious lmao
freaking Pearl Jam... lmao i can’t
The "Kiss me, I'm real!" apron! 😂😂😂
They nailed this crap perfectly! The ending was something I never expected. Plus, the Rod Serling impression was spot on! Great job, SNL!
Jude Law such a gorgeous man
PEARL JAM LMAOOOOO 3:34
NGL I thought Bobby would look out the window and see Jude on the wing 😭
This sketch is too underrated 😂
1:12 that bit was unexpectedly hilarious
Jude Law really did a good job imitating Shatner here.
I kind of wish that they had gotten Shatner for the creature
So glad I finally found this after watching this when it aired over 10 years ago
There was a great homage to this Twilight Zone episode in "Third Rock From The Sun". "The Big Giant Head", the alien's leader, comes to Earth, played by, of course, William Shatner. He comments that he was terrorized during his flight when he saw a creature on the wing. John Lithgow says, startled, "The same thing happened to me!" I remember watching the original. Yes, it was scary.
Hader would have played the monster, he did not even need the costume nor the makeup! Oh the final moments LOVED IT LOVED IT...
🤣Jude Law is AMAZING! Simply Brilliant!!!👌👌
When the think is till on the wing he looks and moves very much like John Belushi.
I love how the live audience is already laughing before we all can see what scenario Bobby is in next. He is just too funny. Brilliant performance 😅😂🤣
Her pearls at the first thirty seconds of the video drove me insane...."fix your pearls" I screamed.....
I watched all the highest rated Twilight Zone Episodes a few years ago and remember young Shatner doing the original. Jude Law's over-the-top hammy acting is a good impression.
Law has the shatner over acting down really well..
I was really hoping the gremlin was gonna see somthing in the window too
Bill did a good Sterling, and pretty well straight faced no less.
I love Myrtle Beach SC. It's a wonderful beach vacation spot with plenty to do for all ages. Be on the beach at sunset on the 4th of July and you will witness the worlds "longest" fireworks show! Looking North and looking South to the horizons, you will see fireworks. Its beautiful, everybody brings fireworks to the beach and the party starts just after sunset. Watch the fireworks with your sweetheart/family, a ice cold drinking in hand, feet in the sand and beach music on the radio. 94.9 the Surf. Welcome to the beach.
Sounds like heaven.
Who else noticed the handsome man in the back?
I certainly did haha
Ania Suchodolska Oh, yes!
That guy glanced at flight attendant's butt while she was passing by :D

The backyard grilling almost had me spew out my beverage.😅
Law goes hard even on a live comedy sketch.
Nasim is smokin on the plane.
Omg this is hysterical! Jude Law is channeling his inner Shatner!
Or possibly his inner Lithgow since John Lithgow played that part in the remake version. He was very good as well.
That was actually one of the most memorable episodes of Twilight Zone for me. This was hilarious 😂
Belushi would have made a perfect Gremlin.
0:50 Even the Actuation is precise!
Looking go the script!
Like in the real TZ! 🤣
Jude law is so damn good in this
It’s funny when you realize that Rod Serling (Bill Hader) never actually mentions what happened to the grill but you can still see the tables and cake when Pearl Jam appears so it’s very likely that THOSE ITEMS ACTUALLY ARRIVED to South Carolina still on the wing.
The power stance is incredible
Rewatch Shatner's version, it's soooooo goooood.
best snl sketch ever
They should have ended it with the gremlin looking out the window and seeing William Shatner standing on the wing.
I wonder how many people went to look for that episode of the Twilight Zone. I remember watching it 50 years ago and William Shatner was the actor with what everyone else thought was having hallucinations.
I know that's Bobby Moynihan, but those jump-poses he does are so Belushi.
A PERFECT spoof of the famous Twilight Zone episode.
Jude’s amazing in this. Perfectly authentic
Dude in the back totally checking out the flight attendant every time she comes in 😄
Damn, Nasim!! I won't stop until I say this in every video that she's in.
They shouldve made the gremlin see the Jude Law on the wing after he sat in his chair. Would have been a perfect TZ-ish twist ending.
