That'd be awesome! Naval combat is by far one of the most epic AC activities, and water battles with... ya know... arrows and bolt-like projectiles instead of canons would make it so freakin awesome. Stealth Greek Gamer But why did you love Unity? The game had nothing to with modern day story and first civilization anymore.. even the lovestory between Arno and Elise was cheesy and the bad end was terrible... Rogue was better.
As someone who didn't like Unity AT ALL, this actually looks super fun. I love the setting, and they seem to have reworked two of the franchise's biggest problems: combat and traversal.
I've been burned before by this franchise, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

Combat looks kind of choppy honestly. I like the idea of faster combat, but this doesn't look smooth or fluid.

Unity and Syndicate had its problems but I would love to see AC series return to this old-school type of gameplay. This is all I want! I want densely populated historic locations, cinematic animation-based combat with cool finishers, a lot of assassin tools, fully realized stealth system, smooth parkour and a tight story that is focused and interesting. Ubi, please... Just make something like Black Flag, Unity or Syndicate but polish it so it's actually impressive.
Mirage is going to deliver at least some of this.

The ships in AC4, while great, were better suited for naval combat and lacked these finer features. That's clearly what they meant by systematic; dude's just being pedantic.

They raised our hopes up, but it would've been a bad marketing strategy because the hype would die out before the game came out. Ashraf even clarified it wasn't a gameplay demo but a gameplay trailer.

The colours look so bright and vibrant in this video whereas the original game was dull and not so colourful. Good job Ubisoft.

YBN Samoa Unity’s story mode is way more emotional and appealing ,a man who lost everything trying to protect the girl he loves aka the last person important to him and revenge for his dead father is more appealing than twins freeing London from dictators ,Unity also has better playground ,u can actually utilise your parkour mechanics to play it ,not like Syndicate where u just grapple everywhere
I’ll never get over that you can’t just use the cane, that he always puts it away once combat ends. It would be cool if you could have it drawn like a weapon, and walking would cause you to use it in your walking animation.

n00bie it should be fast, you play as an assassin who is trained to quickly dispose of any enemies obstructing the path to his kill target. Longer combat is something for RPGs. For instance in Unity, especially in the beginning when Arno had a low skill level, combat took way too long.
It's always been super glitchy.
Jorbus JEAN Unity was a bad AC but it had a great combat system, really smooth and fluid.

Everyone i complaining about how little time we got we Altair, but hey, reveloutions gave us alot of missions with Altair? I think the games are perfect, the story is well done and the freedom you get is awesome. What other games can you run around in ancient, old towns and explore? They nail the structures

This game is really underrated! The only thing I didn't like about Syndicate is that there weren't enough character models so you killed that bald boi at least 1k times.

Honestly I quite like this game. Some people complaint that hijacking carriage is like GTA, but what did you expected from Victorian London, it makes you immerse to the world and I like that. The only criticism I had is the downgrade parkour system. I don’t mind the rope launcher, too much gap between building so that understandable, but there was no freedom of movement in parkour like Unity. I can’t command Evie or Jacob to jump off any building unless the buildings were closed to each other, and London building in that period is bad for parkour in general
cant believe half the people in here, this is the first assassins creed game since assassins creed 2 with no multilayer, this game is pure single player witch can only mean a better main game, this is by far the best looking Victorian london i have seen in any game the detail in the architecture is exquisite. despite its problems i enjoyed unity a lot and i glad they have seen their mistakes and moved on.
this game is made by the same team who made black flag not unity and black flag was awesome i love games with detail and this has heaps of it i am looking forward to exploring this game and messing around on the trains.
I hope that during the final Assassin's Creed game we get to personally meet and thank the guy in the game who went around and conveniently placed all those carts of hay stacks everywhere. The ones that always look the same, can fit perfectly a human body in, and can support the weight of a human falling from giant castles. Would be the best ending ever.

There is a lot of hate in the comments section because for every other game besides Syndicate, they showed promising Demo's and there was always some new feature in the games that got people excited for it.
But AC Syndicate is the first one that actually looks like shit. The demo's show nothing that makes the game look promising, and to be honest it looks extremely bland and you can tell it is lacking innovation. I mean AC Unity wasn't that good of a game, but atleast the trailers and demos made the game look amazing and fun. But this is like....

I'm really happy we're keeping the hand to hand combat that was one thing I was a little afraid of for this game. When they announced Victorian London as a setting I knew they had revolvers and other guns and I was a little skeptical as to how they were going to keep the Assassin's Creed signature alive. I was afraid this would turn into Assassin's Creed meets Call Of Duty. I am loving the cane sword and brass knuckles. I'm still worried about this game and I'm not getting my hopes too high but I'm pretty excited.
Hateful gamers that jump on any game that isn't perfect are unfortunately becoming the norm. To judge a game with unattainable standards while having literally zero knowledge of how to program, design, or develop one is more child like than "serious gamer" (for lack of a better turn). In assassins creed 4 there is an email between abstergo execs that suggests a civil war game or a feudal Japan setting. There was also the French Revolution, American New England in the 1920s and Midwest. As well as Egypt, (believed to be the next game) and the Victorian era. This is probably ubisofts way of telling us the settings they plan on using in the future. Seeing as two of them have already come out (French Revolution and Victorian London)

I honestly love the setting, gameplay, story, and characters of Syndicate... the only that ruins it for me, is the damn Batman grapple gun. It takes out the fun of traversing and finding ways to scale the rooftops of the cities. I almost never used it.
