Thank you very much for the video, I though I will never see a in detail disassembling for the 2wd for some reason to me it looks like the 4wd gets more attention. keep up the good work
This video is a life saver. It's hard to believe it came along right when I was planning my front end suspension rebuild. It's underway now and going well. Decided to replace the old I-bolts for the control arms with grade 8 from lowes. Hopefully this is a good idea. The old ones were rusty af
If you need a zerk on the sway bar link, you have to put it on first as it is a 45 degree offset and will not screw on if you put the link on first. good vid!
02:12 I noticed that the brake lines and the brackets are renewed. The bracket seems to help prevent abrasion. Could you please provide the link where I can purchase the bracket from?
Was wondering if you know if a 2003 dodge dakota 2wd, steering knuckle with 2piston caliper, will be interchangeable with a 2004 dodge dakota 2wd Steering Knuckle with 1 piston caliper. My truck is the 03 dakota 2wd, I have a parts truck 04 dakota 2wd. Are the knuckles interchangeable?
Hello, there is a same video of this young lady changing a control arm in the same type vehicle but it was the UPPER control arm. If anyone could please help me find that video I would appreciate it. Thank you 🙏
Hello I changed my upper and lower control arm bushing to polyurethane and now that I put it all back together the front of the truck came down nearly all the way to the ground the jack kept it from slamming down I already loosened and tightened the torsion bar bolts and it didn't do anything can you help me figure out what I did wrong if I take it off the jacks with the wheels on the entire front comes down completely 97 Dakota 4wd 5.2
Can I just remove the bolt holding the rack and pinion up on the side that I'm working on and loosen the other side so the rack and pinion will lower down enough to remove that bolt? I really don't want to mess with removing the rack and pinion boot and taking it apart to get that bolt out
Hello ! I have a Dodge Dakota 1998, 2.5 L. Could you be so kind to tell me what is the name of the part that is totally broken (yellow Color ). The one that as if had bitten by a mouse ? Looks like dirty cheese. I have the exact same problem and I would like to change it . Gracias.
Got lucky on the control arm bolts, mine were seized on to the steel insert in the bushing and no amount of anything could unseize it. Had to cut it off with a grinder.
It didn't look like she preloaded the control arm bushings? I couldn't tell. The editing made it look like she did not. My understanding is that you always preload control arm bushings.
Strange.... Mine's a 2003 and doesnt have a spring for front suspension, also, the lower control arm is connected to a rod that goes under the middle transversal bar that's holding the truck's middle frame and i'm really worried about how i'm going to do with all that in the way...
she never mentioned how difficult it could end up being to remove the control arm bolts.. right arm came off but ive been trying to get the left one off for a week now
Only difference on my 99 dakota 5.2l v8 2wd is I have a wire coming from the knuckle that is attached to my wiring harness..problem is I ripped it out on accident right now and don't know what the wire is or could have been for? Anyone else have a wire coming from the back of their knuckle?
came here to watch a woman who is less scared of springs then i am LOL but anyhow really bothered me that you tightened those lower control arm bolts off the ground. pre-loading the bushings for early failure.
A very refreshing video from an Automotive Technician who knows what she is doing! Great video!

Do you have to get the Durango 2wd aligned when replacing the lower control arms? Great video.
how about the 4 wheel drive version?
I think I'm in love
02:12 I noticed that the brake lines and the brackets are renewed. The bracket seems to help prevent abrasion. Could you please provide the link where I can purchase the bracket from?
Have a 2002 dakota 4.7 l sport and it's totally different
Is there any videos for dodge Durango 2003 4x4 5.9 magnum ?

Where should I go about getting replacement control arm bolts ? Everywhere I've looked doesn't carry them. Mine are pretty well gone
I have a 2002 Durango, I’m pretty sure that mine has torsion bars, so would it be a lot different to do?

That's a bump stop. It's there for when you bottom out your suspension

Putting about 10 lbs of torque extra on everything you doing with that wrench
Where did you find the torque specs at?
What did it for me was that they didn't grease up the bolts... Thanks for the help though....
SAVAGE!!
Only complaint is. Just turn the wheel so the giant part of the inner tie rod is not in the way
97-2004 huh..are ya suuuuuure? I have a 2001 Dodge dakota 4.7 4x4 and i have a different set up!🤔
4x4 is a different setup than the two-wheel drive rear wheel abs
damn need the video for 4x4 lol
did you end up doing your 4x4 ? I'm doing mine tomorrow
Bro this vid is clearly a RWD setup. 4WD is always different.
No torsion bar. Lucky. I can't get mine out the lower arm
i bet if you unbolted the rack and pinion, you could have gotten enough space to remove that bolt.
It didn't look like she preloaded the control arm bushings? I couldn't tell. The editing made it look like she did not.

Overall though your videos are really well filmed and i'm saddened that it does not fit my 2003 3.9l :(
Call your local Dodge dealer parts counter with most likely the last eight digits of your VIN, for part numbers and torque specs. .You got this!
did you do the lower control arm replacement ? mine is same setup attempting tomorrow.
You have a 4x4 ? Torsion bar suspension
That's a torsion bar spring, and I'm not sure how the lower A-arm job is done with that. Looking for that DIY brought me here! The search continues...
she never mentioned how difficult it could end up being to remove the control arm bolts.. right arm came off but ive been trying to get the left one off for a week now
❤ that's

More than likely it's a ABS sensor lead.
No anti rattle spring?
They were already on the pads as she pushed them towards the bracket.
I have new lower control arms for sale if anyone's interested
Good grief what a rust bucket..
U skipped the spring part
I guess no rubber thing...at top or bottom of spring
came here to watch a woman who is less scared of springs then i am LOL but anyhow really bothered me that you tightened those lower control arm bolts off the ground. pre-loading the bushings for early failure.
