It is time! Here is my BIGGEST Spooky Season video of the year! This is my 31 Days of Halloween Horror Challenge! I share my "Challenge Watchlist" broken down by RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EACH DAY of October! So pop that tape in, I got you, let's go do this! ps, my channel members, I did not realize this special halloween video overlay for this video was covering your names until it was already uploaded and I couldnt fix it (I apologize)! But big shout out and thank you to you all!
I love your Rhonda Schear reference! 😅 I was a BIG FAN of USA Up All Night. I loved how Rhonda would say UP! USA UP! All Night. I remember one year she had a few co-hosts for her Halloween special and one guy was dressed up like a vampire and I think he did some adult movies. I always loved the raunchiness of Rhonda's guests. 😅 I was just 14 or 15 watching that.
Day 1 of the challenge is special for me because I'm going to the theater on October 1st to see The Texas Chain Saw Massacre for the first time on the big screen and it's a 50th Anniversary 4K remaster edition. Very excited.
thank you! yeah I put some time into it thinking about weekly schedules, how each night of the week feels to me (and maybe others), how you may be still kinda busiy through the week so pick a movie that doesnt require complete focus and attention etc... I am glad you picked up on that and appreciated it! :)
I'm crushing the list so far.....work all weekend, so I'm moving along.....so far the list is great as it has movies I haven't seen in a while and bring back some nostalgia.
@@AVAPopCulture gonna go on a scream 2-4 marathon after I finish the faculty, then Friday remake and I'll finish the night off with the fog...and that will get me back on the night shift for work tomorrow night
This year I'm watching all the Universal Horror Movies in chronological order beginning in 1927 with Cat and the Canary, ending in 1946 with The Spider Woman Strikes Back. Then I think I'll watch the first 3 Halloweens and Friday 13, some Texas Chainsaw Massacres, and The Watcher in the Woods, Beetlejuice and all sorts of stuff! Since I am retired I can watch horror marathons every day!!!
I’m going to do 93 !!! 3 per day ! Just hunted out best part of my collection that’s needed and just ordered 8 new dvds to add to the list ! Hope all the other horror physical media collectors have a great October 💀
I can never only do 31 movies. There are too many good and great ones that need to be watched. I started mine back in September cause i was never able to watch everything i chose. But this year, I've been more dedicated than ever. I usually start with tv shows just to get into the mood and kick things off, and then i go into the movies, but this is the first year I've started in September, and moving forward i will probably continue to do that in the years that follow. I have a lot of movies. I go all out, and each year, the list grows, and it's become a full-on event that i look forward to. This year is extremely special to me because im introducing my girlfriend to so many films that will be first time watches for her and even a lot of first-time watches for me. It's very exciting. Her birthday is also October 21st, so it's a very big month for us. I love watching everyones lists.
yeah, I am trying to pull my wife into watching more! so I am hoping doing the list/challenge will get her fired up for it...but in case it doesnt work, I am doing a family friendly horror list too!
This sounds like a fun October watch list unfortunately I’ve watched a lot of these movies within the last 3-4 months. I’ve done a challenge with friends every year since 2004. We do 31 movies throughout the month and at least 16 have to be first time viewings. I usually end up around 50-60 for the month and have upped it to trying to get at least 31 FTV’s.
Starting my own Spooky Season watch tomorrow. Easing in this week with "Gremlins," "The Monster Squad," "The Haunted Mansion," "Waxwork," and "Scream."
Awesome list! Dude when you were describing the Oct 18th night with Lost boys, Fright Night, Pizza and coke I had the biggest smile on my face like hell yeah man!! I'm 43 and it took me back to that time! If me and my brother's had that setup for a Friday night ohhh man!! Love it! Your channel is great Chase. Keep up the good work brother!!
thanks my friend! for me, it is about VIBES, FEELINGS, NOSTALGIA, and the whole mindset and experience! Movies have that power, like a time machine for your mind and I still get all those feelings to this day, so why not set the mood and share them!!
Great list. Along with many on yours, mine includes The Blob (80’s version), the classic Universal Monsters, Ernest Scared Stupid for 90’s nostalgia, The Fog, Killer Klowns, Pumkinhead, Zombieland 1 & 2, and recently, Dale and Tucker vs Evil.
I won't be able to do a movie a day because of other obligations but when I do things like this I like picking movies I haven't seen before, and I've seen 99% of these. 🙂
not the easiest thing in the world to pick 31 horror movies nobody has seen lol!! I have other lists too, keep that in mind! everything cant be on every list ;)
I have accepted this challenge. I got them all stacked and ready to go. The only one I don't have is Bad Candy, but Tubi has it. Great list man. I had to change out Brides of Dracula (just saw it last week) with Dracula 1979. This will be a fun time. I would like to see a Christmas version of this.
Nice list. Here's mine. I do things a bit differently and start by watching horror mini-series. I’m all ready 30 movies in before October lol. I like this list and I will probably do 90% of your list. All though I do end Halloween night watching rocky horror picture show.
Great list, Chase! I’m gonna follow along with your schedule as best i can. I’m going to make some adjustments because I literally just watched a bunch of those. It’s gonna be a fun month! 😊
thanks man! Im gonna be trying my best to follow and post pics of me doing this each day but I'll be adding in others from other upcoming lists too so it will be balls to the wall horror! some may have to play while Im doing other stuff lol
by the way, I just streamed "The Stepfather" last night because I couldnt buy the SF 4k release and i hadnt seen it in 30 years - dude, if you havent seen that or havent watched in a long time, I cannot recommend it enough! absolutely incredible scary performance by Terry O'Quinn! check it out if you havent and let me know your thoughts
I'm watching 36 movies. On Saturday nights and Halloween night I watch 2 movies. My list in order starting Tuesday. Longlegs Zombie The Prowler The Fly (1986) The Haunting (1963) Bram Stokers Dracula The Shining Bride of Re-Animator Friday the 13th (2009) Nosferatu (1922) Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 Lifeforce Demons Demons 2 Van Helsing Curse of the Werewolf John Carpenters Vampires Ghost Ship Dead & Buried 30 Days of Night Hellraiser Hellraiser II Creature from the Black Lagoon Diary of the Dead The Lost Boys The Blood Beast Terror Sleepwalkers The Ruins Hell Fest Haunt Burial Ground Count Dracula The Blob (1958) The Convent Halloween (1978) Halloween II (1981)
just got Bride of Re-Animator this week, might use that as a substitution, I also have to squeeze in Phantasm (just got that 4K), but definitely agree w/Sleepwalkers! Never heard of the Blood Beast Terror or Burial Ground, will check them out for sure. Also, The Blob is "must see" for October! Great list btw.
I have 23 of the movies on your full 31 days of Halloween list. Will have to modify my 31 days a little different than you but ready to do my first 31 Days of Halloween challenge.
Mixing in horror movies with the Tales From the crypt tv series as I recently picked up the dvd set. Also going to throw in the 4ks from the new Paramount scares 4k set.
Because of work, I won't be able to watch all of those movies, but on the weekends, it's time to have fun. My October picks are usually random as I go through the collection
Good list. Great basis to follow. I am gonna pick some to go along with your choices. Definitely throwing Near Dark on the 18th. I’m laid up from a minor surgery gone sideways so I have time. And let it’s like I can’t do Halloween with the grandkids so I’ll have all day Halloween to fit in a lot of Michael Myers.
Hell yeah Chase. Oct 30 & 31 is exactly what I watch for Halloween Eve and Night. You can't beat Sam and Michael back to back. Great movies. I can't wait to get my Trick r' Treat 4k from Arrow. Pumped!!. BTW Let's Go Mets. I know you're from Georgia LMFAO..
I love this challenge! I have already done yesterday's (Oct. 1), and currently finishing up Scream for day 2. I'm gonna have to be creative in completing the challenge, however. I'm a truck driver and am out of town a lot of days/nights, and I may have to make some of these into extra double features! Like today....I'm off, so I'm going ahead and doing the Day 3 Night of the Living Dead viewing. Really love your selections, and I'm looking forward to watching some of the movies on this list that I haven't seen yet! Great content, keep it up!
@bobbyogle4044 thanks man! I'm sure we may all have to tweak here and there...I tried to go day by day to take schedules into account as much as possible but there is no way to account for all of our vastly different schedules! Keeping the spirit of the challenge and watching the movies any way you can and Keeping those fun halloween vibes is what it is all about!
Horror of Dracula is a must classic. Not mentioned. I know I’m a bit older but you can’t mention Halloween 🎃 without mentioning the movies that stand the test of time.
Been to hospital for day surgery. Been home for a few hours. So happy to see the video and celebrate physical media! I'm the proud owner of the Friday the 13th films, Night of the Living Dead, The Faculty, Creepshow, Re-Animator You've picked Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee to watch on my 44th birthday! It was Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho and the Hammer films that helped me like horror as i was scared of everything as a kid! I have a proper girl crush on Barbara Crampton and she is SO HOT in From Beyond! 🥰😍
I am so glad you are home and on the mend!!! I hope you enjoy today's videos and rest up and get well fast! I love Hammer horror movies, Horror of Dracula is a favorite! Glad I picked a nice triple feature for your birthday! And Barbara Crampton, let's just say I am jealous of "the head" in Re-Animator 🤣
Hey. Chase. Tour list is very. Impressive to say the least. But may i be permitted to maybe add a few more. 1 something wicked this way comes. Wlhat this film lacks in violence and nudity it more then makes up for with a great story snd great cast. Its screams fall and halloween to me. And it has a creeping sense of dread throughout. Its a shame its so often overlooked 2. My bloody valentine. Which is my fave american slasher. 3. The prowler. My second fave slasher film And number. 4. The witching season.
We have the same list on Friday the 13th’s except for the 2009 version. It was good,I caught it in the theaters but I have a soft spot for part 7 The New Blood. Kane Hodder is in imo the best Jason version. I’ll be watching Carpenter’s The Fog and also The Thing, except I like to watch the 2011 version first. It’s not as good as the original by any means but it’s a prequel so it makes sense to watch it first.
@@AVAPopCulture watch it then watch Carpenter’s so it doesn’t leave a bad taste. They shot the 2011 version with more practical effects then went back over with CGI because the executives said it looked too much like it was made in the 80’s which should’ve been what they were going for. Still hopeful they’ll release that version without the CGI.
Aight lemme formulate the Halloween movie list. It varies from year to year. A Nightmare on Elm Street like yours the Langenkamp trifecta Night of the Creeps Prince of Darkness The Fog Evil Dead 2 Fright Night Halloween Halloween 2 The Thing and the prequel It Follows Phantasm 2 The Blob 1988 Friday the 13th 1,2,4,7 It chapter 1 and 2 The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre Hereditary Return of the Living Dead Videodrome Alien The Exorcist Suspiria Oddity Hellraiser 2 The First Omen Alien Romulus Doctor Sleep All of these will be watched in no particular order except whatever day I feel like lol. The only one’s I haven’t watched is Videodrome,Alien Romulus, and Oddity.
This looks great! I've seen most of these and love them but there are a few I definitely want to get to this month. BTW, have you seen the trailer for the Salem's Lot remake? It looks pretty good. It's supposed to be out Thursday on MAX.
I'll be renting your recommendations from my local library, if they don't have it I'll use voice command to rent. BTW, I LOVE your top 50 Disney animation films (I left a bunch of detailed comments, Lol), and I rented Wreck-it Ralph this morning. I've never seen it and so far I really like it. Thanks for talking so highly of it! It's actually quite relatable and I could see the Disney Magic Kingdom having a great attraction for Wreck-it Ralph. The action of someone trying to be a better person is huge!
thank you my friend! I will get over there and reply! I have been playing a little catchup after the weather issues, power, and internet issues Ive had here and trying to get this video up too! Im usually quick to respond when I can!
@@AVAPopCultureI just finished looking up your entire list of movies here for the challenge, and I only have to pay to rent four... the rest are thankfully free on Tubi, the one's I couldn't get for free only a few are at my local library like The Fog, Fright Night and the Dracula stuff. Re-Animator was free through some odd channel on my TV and I'm watching it now 😁. But tomorrow I'm renting Cabin in the Woods. I've never seen it and it's one of the 4 I have to pay to rent, but I've always wanted to see it. The Conjuring, The Howling, and Freddy's New Nightmare are the other 3 I'm willing to pay to rent. I found a TON on my AMC channel that are playing in the next two weeks so I've set them to record. Thanks for this list! I don't know why but I think I'm most excited to watch The Howling. 👍
@@stickywicked447 I only remember seeing about 5 minutes of The Howling when I was about 8 years old and it really had me spooked. I've wanted to watch it for years! This month it's time. I was thinking Jamie Lee was in this one, but I was wrong. I think Randy in Scream mentioned this movie along with some Jamie Lee movies and maybe it confuses me. Another movie I always had a fondness for was "Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II" because my grandma's name was Mary Lou. Lol.
I went back to re-watch this video, wrote 'em all down, made notes, I'm IN! If I make a substitution (I know, I know, I'll stick with the theme as much as possible).....oof, Day 1-Exception! Substitution! Sorry, I don't have Cabin in the freakin' Woods! Update, I went with The Mothman Prophecies 2002/Imprint Richard Gere, Will Patton, Laura Linney...in hindsight, I may have started off the month w/a little too much intensity, holy crap, that movie was AWESOME! Highly Recommend! So good! Looking forward, I'm thankful tonight will be a nice mellow viewing... Scream, lol. Stick with the program! Don't stray from the list! Trust the plan! lol
Awesome!!! If you havent seen Cabin in the Woods, stream it lol.... it is a must watch tip of the hat to horror fans! Trust the plan!!! that is what i will do too if I get "itchy" hahaha
Where is Nosferatu from the 70’s with Klaus Kinski ? Shadow of The Vampire with John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe who is in the new Nosferatu coming to theatres Christmas. You don’t mention any classics just 80’s stuff.
there are otehr lists coming and those were just on 2 other lists! gotta mix it up, every one cant be on every list but yes I love the evil dead movies!
@@AVAPopCulture I do podcasts on occasions and have done Halloween 🎃 shows in the past. Follow me and you can see them. I may do a show on my favorites. I try and catch your shows and enjoy.
heck yeah! modify where needed within th blueprint! that is what I will do! I tried to give as much room for it as possible by breaking it down day by day but everyone has different schedules!
May have to make a couple of substitutions but we'll try it. btw, I'm so dumb, I never even knew the Halloween 4K's had reversible inserts! That's so cool! Never would have noticed if not for your vids Chase but I'm reversing them all now.

Horror of Dracula is a must classic. Not mentioned. I know I’m a bit older but you can’t mention Halloween 🎃 without mentioning the movies that stand the test of time.
Horror of Dracula was mentioned along with Brides of Dracula so I am not sure if you just missed those?...
@@AVAPopCulture ok guess I did.
The 18th with Lost boys and Fright Night seems to be missing something... I'm adding The 'Burbs because "the pizza dude is coming!"
LOL I'll allow the Burbs because it is coming on another upcoming list, so work it in where you can haha
Been to hospital for day surgery. Been home for a few hours. So happy to see the video and celebrate physical media!
I'm the proud owner of the Friday the 13th films, Night of the Living Dead, The Faculty, Creepshow, Re-Animator
You've picked Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee to watch on my 44th birthday!
@@AVAPopCulture 🤣🤣🤣
Haha! Your losded and resdu I see! Love your enthusiasm!
I will try to keep up!
Will report my watches!
🎃👻💀🎃
Tbh I watch more list of what people like to watch on Halloween than actually watching the movies and I don't mind it lol
hey, I watch a lot of them too lol
Hey.
Its a shame its so often overlooked
2. My bloody valentine. Which is my fave american slasher.
3. The prowler. My second fave slasher film
And number. 4. The witching season.
ah, BUT as I mentioned, some of those other movies may pop up on other lists that you'll need to mix in here :)
Lol if i could id stay up everyday 24 hours watching horror films. But. At 51 years of age. I cant quite do that anymore lol hehe
🍿🍿🔥🔥 saving the vid for after work !
I appreciate that! hope you enjoy it!
Dig the Rhonda Shear reference only people my age would get, we watched USA up all night back then.
@duckdays9451 it was must watch viewing lol
We have the same list on Friday the 13th’s except for the 2009 version. It was good,I caught it in the theaters but I have a soft spot for part 7 The New Blood. Kane Hodder is in imo the best Jason version.
I’ll be watching Carpenter’s The Fog and also The Thing, except I like to watch the 2011 version first. It’s not as good as the original by any means but it’s a prequel so it makes sense to watch it first.
I still haven't seen the 2011 "The Thing"
@@AVAPopCulture watch it then watch Carpenter’s so it doesn’t leave a bad taste. They shot the 2011 version with more practical effects then went back over with CGI because the executives said it looked too much like it was made in the 80’s which should’ve been what they were going for.
Still hopeful they’ll release that version without the CGI.
yeah baby, let's go do this!
Aight lemme formulate the Halloween movie list. It varies from year to year.
A Nightmare on Elm Street like yours the Langenkamp trifecta
Night of the Creeps
Prince of Darkness
The Fog
Evil Dead 2
Fright Night
Halloween
Halloween 2
The Thing and the prequel
It Follows
Phantasm 2
The Blob 1988
Friday the 13th 1,2,4,7
It chapter 1 and 2
The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Hereditary
Return of the Living Dead
Videodrome
Alien
The Exorcist
Suspiria
Oddity
Hellraiser 2
The First Omen
Alien Romulus
Doctor Sleep
All of these will be watched in no particular order except whatever day I feel like lol.
Happy horror day's bruda
Happy Horror day!!!! October is FINALLY here!!!
Im usually quick to respond when I can!
and wreck it ralph is a big time favorite in this house!! so underrated!
@@benbelzer8303 Kind of looking forward the The Howling myself! 🤗
Lol.
Tomorrow is hawk tober first. Woooooooo
hahaha if I can just get someone to hawk tua for me hahahahahahahaha
@@AVAPopCulture I have seen it but it’s been awhile, will have to squeeze it in on the weekend maybe 🤔
Oct 22nd best day
Where is Nosferatu from the 70’s with Klaus Kinski ? Shadow of The Vampire with John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe who is in the new Nosferatu coming to theatres Christmas. You don’t mention any classics just 80’s stuff.
can't have all the same movies on every list! those were both just on 2 recent previous lists! gotta spread it around
@@AVAPopCulture 👍
What about The Evil dead movies? Do you like those or are they not worthy?
there are otehr lists coming and those were just on 2 other lists! gotta mix it up, every one cant be on every list but yes I love the evil dead movies!
@@AVAPopCulture Fair enough.
Where are the Hammer films?
there is a sunday triple feature in there...BUT as I mentioned, there are otehr lists coming of films that will work with this list!
@@AVAPopCulture I do podcasts on occasions and have done Halloween 🎃 shows in the past. Follow me and you can see them. I may do a show on my favorites. I try and catch your shows and enjoy.
im in, ill just have to modify days and double up some days because of work Im also waiting on The Thing 4k, so i might rotate it with another movie.
heck yeah! modify where needed within th blueprint! that is what I will do! I tried to give as much room for it as possible by breaking it down day by day but everyone has different schedules!
@@AVAPopCulture day 1 complete
May have to make a couple of substitutions but we'll try it.
btw, I'm so dumb, I never even knew the Halloween 4K's had reversible inserts! That's so cool! Never would have noticed if not for your vids Chase but I'm reversing them all now.
@stickywicked447 substitutions!?! Nope lol jk 😜
Yeah the Halloween 4ks have the reversible covers with the original artwork and I love that
@@AVAPopCulture yeah 👍 it’s like having a truck and not knowing it’s got 4WD 😂
