The Tor with year-round admission charges and premium rates for the equinox. Designated footpaths, 'improvements', security staff, cameras everywhere. That's the future under World Heritage Status. Great work, God willing the plan will be rejected.
I think you are being unfair, the £10k was to see if we qualified and to start a discussion. The question is should Glastonbury, expand tourism, or shoudl it expand its other industries. To maintain diversity,
Hmmmm... I am not being unfair, it is the Council who are being unfair. They are not following their code of conduct! They are elected to listen to the residents they serve and to be accountable with transparency. Nobody was aware in the community what was happening. We presently have 1 million tourists and as residents do not want nor need more! It is our taxpayers money bring spent! World Heritage Status will not protect our sacred sites. The consequences of increased tourism would mean more cars, parking facilities. We do not presently have the infrastructure. We have researched other UNESCO heritage sites around the world and the impact of over tourism is horrifying!
Good on you Amanda!
Thanks so much Tasha. ❤Thanks for watching...
