First 2020 mckatherine video! :D (first decade video too?) I've noticed this channel focuses too much in covers...TOO MUCH. (and then i call my self a "producer"...) What I mean is that this year (and the following ones) I'll try to moderate the amount of covers and start to contribute with some songs to this community. I'm very close to 1k subscribers and I ONLY HAVE 2 ORIGINAL SONGS. 2. SONGS. And the last one is more than 1 year old! I think it's time to put some effort in my own work! I also think that you understand that a cover takes like 5% of the time an original gets to do, but I don't want the logic of this channel to be "feed the audience with more and more covers, they're cheap and people like them :)" ....btw this doesn't mean it's the end of the covers, if it was like that I would upload once a year Edit: 1k SUBS OMG THIS NEEDS A VIDEO!!!!!!
@@Domiyu Thank you! And of course! The basics of a good mixing consist in adjusting the volume levels and adding effects on the vocal tracks. I'll give you a summary of how I do my mixing in general. I mix with FL Studio, but if you need a free program, you can use audacity as the best option. The firsat thing I do is import all the components of the song (instrumental, main vocals, harmonies, etc) as separated audio tracks (in fl studio, I asign each of them different chanels from the mixer). I align them all together so that they fit in the right tempo and then I start with the effects. It all depends on the song and style, but the common thing is to do step1> compression, step2>equalazing, step3> delay, step 4> reverb. If you have problems understanding any of them or have specific questions just ask me! Maybe this is too obvious or maybe you didn't even know these steps so tell me! If you already knew these things, sorry for wasting your time, i'll give you more advanced tips xD
@@mckatherine I don't know how to compress audio tracks or how to equalise unfortunately. I also don't know much about delay. Although, I do know about reverb since it's the first thing I learned to do.
@@Domiyu There are some good tutorials in youtube of how to do compresiion and how to use eqs, I can link them if you want! Compression is basically as its name describes it to compress all the volume levels of your track into a similar level. Every vocal track has very loud parts and also very low parts. This can cause situations where some nice parts of the audio are inaudibles because of how low they are when you turn the music on and where someparts are annoyingly loud in comparison to the rest of the song. There are lots of compression plugins but all of them have a threshold (a "limit" you can adjust where the volume is cut off), a ratio (controls how much the volume is goig to be pulled off), attack and release. I watched these producer's videos when I was learning all that has to be with sound, he explains it very well in this video (although he is deffinetely not into vocaloid): ruclips.net/video/yi0J9JsRdI4/видео.html Now, talking about equalizing, every sound has frequences. I cannot give you a whole class of how sound is made but I can tell you that cutting out high frequences is what makes a track sound muffled and cutting out the low ones is what makes the audio sound like a sort of Radio. You have to play with them to make you trackm sound clear and outstanding without having to make it very loud. A useful tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/2oH4YcpyWSs/видео.html Delay is the echo effect the voice has. Your plugin should give you the option to adjust the timing of the echoing voices (how fast you want them to come after the voice), how many echoes you want to have after the main track, how loud you want them to be and another extra options that depend on the plugin! Hope that helped a little bit!
I actually use FL studio! Audacity can be really hard to use when it comes to mixing! xD That's the combination of a low pass filter and a native vst from the program called "squeeze" which gives this old/low quality effect to the track! Sorry for the late reply!
@@clokki8378 you can also use a bitcrush if you want to, it sounds like a similar effect for me. maybe add the low-pass filter before it tho but not after because it adds high frequencies (if that makes sense)
Julcool 8121 Vocaloid and utau are totally different programs although they are both synthesizers. Only vocaloids can read vsqs and only utau voicebanks can read usts. A tuned vsq is very different from a ust :/
Extremely realistic tuning. Scary video, but extremely realistic tuning

Your VSQx would sound great with Ouka Alice
As far as I know Ouka Alice is an Utau character, not a vocaloid
But, you mean to somehow copy the pitchbends to a ust conversion?
I think so? I don't know much about USTs
