    I don’t think I can say anything original that hasn’t already been said in these comments. I love the way you transitioned the previous years, and I loved the storytelling, the pace, the interruptions of the skeletons, and the silliness of it all. The final projection was hilarious. Great job again!

    Outstanding! The 3D work is mind blowing. The more I learn the more I appreciate the work involved. The accent lighting you have on the columns and walls alone would take me a month. The fact you did this in a short time is unreal. As a fan I always look forward to your upload on Halloween and you NEVER disappoint. Thank you for the great show as always!

      Hey Steve. Thanks again. I appreciate the kind words. It's much easier if you do your own story, so you don't have to scramble to find clips at AtmosFX or HallowFX that can potentially be made into somewhat of a story. LOL. :)

    Taking the kids out trick or treating, I saw a house in our village with a simple projection on a shower curtain in a window. It looked really good so I came to RUclips with the view to do something similar this year. If I hadn’t seen that house I wouldn’t have found this video. It’s absolutely remarkable! I’m now binge watching them all. The absolute best home projection I’ve ever seen.

      Hi PlayerWellknown. That is awesome. Thanks for watching. I'm still surprised that this way of decorating for the different Holidays isn't being used more. It's such a big bang for little buck (once you have the projector) and really doesn't require any elaborate animations. Just a whole static transformation of the front of a house with a themed texture is a spectacle in itself because of the size of it. :)

      Hi Georgia, yes, it's funny how ideas happen. I had no real plan when I started, but things just kind of fell into place once I found the music, then wrote the script and saw a good tutorial of the burning edges transition, and the visuals were born. :)

      @@ProjectThisHouse Oh, you have been on my website! Thank you for your interest!😀
      At the last projection it was a Panasonic PT-DS100X show projector with 10600 ANSI lumens and two Acer P7 215 with 6000 ANSI lumens (all somewhat older models). Whereby the smaller Acer already have a very good performance. Most of the time they would suffice, but they have too little keystone correction/shift/zoom, which is often important for congruent projections.
      The Barbie house is a good idea. A friend's little daughter is always afraid of the gargoyles. She says they should wear a princess tiara and a pink dress. Well, a Barbie house would go nicely with that. I am sure all the girls would love it. 😂

    • @ProjectThisHouse
      @ProjectThisHouse  10 месяцев назад

      I think it's decided then: Barbie Schloss 2024 it is! About the keystone/shift/zoom problem, you can look into getting a mapping software like MadMapper or Resolume, where you can make those adjustments in the software...but maybe I'm not understanding it correctly, as I'm sure you're already using something like that?

    • @lydiahoffmann7359
      @lydiahoffmann7359 10 месяцев назад

      @@ProjectThisHouse We have HeavyM, but I don't really work with it. I take photos from the perspective of the projector and then recreate the building in the 3D software. The movie is then rendered exactly from the perspective of the photo. This works well, but you often have to make some adjustments in the projector settings to make it fit exactly. It doesn't work that well with HeavyM, but with other mapping software it would probably work fine and it would certainly be an option, but so far I've been okay with the projector settings. I'm definitely thinking about it though, because especially in combination with AI there are a lot of new possibilities right now that can save an incredible amount of time. So let's see which way my Barbie Schloss will be created in 2024.😄

    How has the Brightness been since you switched from the BenQ mx819ST to the Optima ZH406st? I’ve been using the Same BenQ and it has worked okay but better with the aid of blocking out a street light down our street but not sure if I’ll be able to do that every year so looking to take it up a notch again next year. Did you notice a great improvement from your old to new projector? Fantastic job by the way!

    • @ProjectThisHouse
      @ProjectThisHouse  Год назад

      Hi Samuel Theodore. Thank you so much for watching. Yes, I see a big difference with the Optoma ZH406ST. Of course the extra 1200 lumens will make for a brighter projection, but because the Optoma is a laser projector, there are a couple of other benefits on top of that. The image is sharper and the contrast is much, much better than a bulb projector. And if you've used your BenQ for a couple of years, you're already losing some intensity as the bulb slowly starts burning out on day one. A laser keeps its initial intensity for about 20000 hours without decay. However, the price difference is huge, so it's really a matter of what the extra pop is worth to you. :)

    ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! As a Halloween fanatic, I’ve always watched these videos and been awed!! By far the best projections I’ve seen! I was wondering how you did this? Is there a certain projector or something? If you answer thank you so much!

    • @ProjectThisHouse
      @ProjectThisHouse  11 месяцев назад

      Hi @teslatradeup. Thank you for your kind words. I'm happy you enjoyed the show. :) This is done with a regular consumer projector (Optoma ZH406ST). The process is pretty simple: You place the projector in front of your house so its beam covers the entire house. Then you connect a laptop to the projector and open a paint program and project the empty canvas onto the house. You use the paint program to make an outline drawing of all the features of the house, which will be the "map" you use for creating your animation. Before moving inside, you mark the exact position of the projector so you can place it in the same spot when you're ready to project your final video. Next step is the editing of your video. With the outline map you made outside as your guide, you can start filling out all the sections with either spooky textures, animation or other effects. This is where creativity and graphic skills are the only limiter of what you can come up with. As long as it fits your map, you're guaranteed that everything will line up as soon as you go back outside and turn on the projector and play the video.:) I hope it made sense, or you can google "house projection mapping tutorial"

      Hi there, A Notch Below Average. Thank you so much for watching. I really appreciate it. The projections I make may be in the more advanced end technically, as I use a lot of real 3D animation and modelling. However, projecting onto your house does not necessarily require a super fancy animation video to have a big effect.
      So if you're new to the game, I suggest starting small, and learning how to use a paint program like e.g. Photoshop and then make a really cool and spooky facade for your house. Then you can start adding elements like animation and other moving objects or transitions as you get more comfortable with the technique.
      I use a mix of Photoshop, After Effects and Cinema4D to make my videos and currently I'm using an Optoma ZH406ST projector to show them.
      A great place to start is joining the "Holiday Projection Mapping" group on Facebook, where you can find a ton of information, tutorials and helpful people. :)

    • @ProjectThisHouse
      @ProjectThisHouse  Год назад +1

      Hej @ChristianKrogh-Denmark.
      Tak fordi du kiggede med. På papiret er det faktisk ret simpelt: Du bruger en almindelig videoprojektor (helst en "short throw" model) og en laptop computer til at lave et "map" af dit hus som videoprojektoren "ser" det. Derefter kan du i ro og mag lave dit "show" i et videoredigeringsprogram, hvor du bruger dit "map" som skabelon over hvor du placerer de forskellige elementer i dit show.
      Når du er færdig, eksporterer du dit show som videofil, og afspiller den på videoprojektoren via laptoppen.
      Hvis projektoren er placeret præcis det samme sted som da du lavede dit "map", vil alt passe perfekt, og dit show vises på huset som du havde tænkt det.
      Det var selvfølgelig bare overskrifterne, men hvis du googler "house mapping tutorial" her på YT, så kan du finde mange gode gennemgange der går i dybden med alle processerne. :)

    What kind of projector would you recommend.. for house mapping?

    • @ProjectThisHouse
      @ProjectThisHouse  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi @karlaorellana51. Thanks for stopping by and watching. I really appreciate it.
      Regarding what projector to use, it really depends. Here are some of the factors you need to take into account:
      1. How much room do you have in front of your house to place the projector? This will decide if you can go with a regular projector (plenty of room), or if you need a projector with a wide angle lens (limited room). The wide angle lens projectors are called "short throw"-projectors, and seem to be what most people use.
      2. What color walls does your house have, and how much incoming light from neighbors and street lights do you get? This will decide how powerful the projector needs to be to counter that. The projector's light intensity is measured in ANSI Lumens, and the darker your walls are and the more incoming light you have, the more lumens you need for your projection to stand out.
      3. What is your budget? There are projectors in all price ranges, and go from less than $50 for a used projector on eBay to over $100K+ for a professional high end projector.
      Personally, I started with a BenQ MX819ST with 3000 lumens I got on eBay for less than $100. This is a short throw projector, as I don't have much room in front of my house. The lumens are on the low side, but my house walls are light colored and I can block most of the incoming light from neighbors and street lights.
      I have since beefed up the power a bit, and I'm now using an Optoma ZH406ST laser projector with 4200 lumens. I believe I got that one for around $1500 - also on eBay.
      My suggestion is getting something cheap to get some experience, so you don't buy something too expensive before finding out is projection mapping is something for you.

      Hi @SmellyScottishCollector. Thanks for watching. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but if you're asking where to buy the projector, the actual projector is just a consumer video projector you find in class rooms and meeting rooms, You can get them used on e.g. eBay, If you're asking about buying the actual video that is being projected onto the house, then this one isn't for sale, but if you join the Facebook group "Holiday Projection Mapping", you can find several creators in there, that will make a video for your house. :)

      Hi there Mr.C ORIGINAL. Thanks for watching and the kind words. Unfortunately, I barely have time to do a show for myself each year, so to take on anything extra is simply not doable for me. But I do know of several other creators that can make you a custom show. If you join the Facebook group "Holiday Projection Mapping", there's a list of them there. :)

    Hey project this house,
    What is the latest projector I should buy to do what you do? Speakers?

    • @ProjectThisHouse
      @ProjectThisHouse  11 месяцев назад

      Hi @crazycat1232.
      For the audio to be loud and clear, I use a PA set from Behringer (Europort EPS500).
      I hope that was helpful :)
