Wonderful! Can't wait for more!
Very impressed! Great work.
Very informative. Thank you.
STEPHEN STEPHEN STEPHEN OMG I LOVE YOU
Stephen!!!!! Woot woot
I'm thinking about using something like this to run some speaker wires through the hull instead of over and under the edge of the rail. So I'd need a fairly small thru hull.
That’s an interesting use! The smallest straight thru hulls we sell are just 5/8” :-) We carry them in full stainless (6650S-L2) and marine-grade nylon (6650N). Searching those part numbers will bring it right up on our site 😁 Feel free to let us know if we can help!
Cool!
Nice!
Is there a recommendation for plugging a thru hull that is not being used?
I would like to buy thru hull with a built-in scupper 1-1/8.
It seems that inch and a half is the common size
Hi there Steve!
Yes, it's very uncommon for a thru-hull to have a diameter of 1-1/8", I can't say that we see too many of them, and we don't currently carry any. The ones we carry with scuppers are all either 1.5" or 2". We're sorry we can't be of more help, but I'm sure they're out there! And if it becomes too much of a hassle, there's also the option of expanding your mounting hole to fit a more readily available option.
Do you put any sealant on inside bolt of thru hull or just the outside?
Hey there! Great question! You would apply the sealant to the outside, but we do not recommend intentionally sealing the inside unless the fitting is to be submerged in bilge water. It's common to be a little "sloppy" when applying the sealant to the outside so just a little gets on the threads 😄
HAHA! AMAZING!
How many and what size through hulls does the average boat need?
Hey there! Very interesting question!
Boats are actually too varied to have a one-size-fits-all type of answer. There's not even an "average" kind of boat! Everything from small paddle boats to large naval aircraft carriers are technically boats. Some are aluminum, wood, fiberglass, or even steel, so the amount and size of thru-hulls can fluctuate wildly!
We're sorry there's not a more concise answer to your question!
👍🏼
