@@EternalCrusader-it1jn I believe so, at least in print. I've been using the term in conversation and on social media for years now, but it certainly possible others might have as well. I had the editor add the term back into my essays from the first arc when it was reprinted in the trade paperback, so that is probably the first time it actually appeared in print.
I started reading Conan in the 1960's LOVE the stories although L. Decamp and Lynn Carter Didn't do Conan Any Justice I read them Anyway, Loved Bran Mak Morn and Cane also, Keep Up the Great Work! @Eternal Crusader
I guess you would also be down for some Elric related content? I just finished reading "Stormbringer" for the first time. Also, if you're into metal, check out the band "Eternal Champion". They have some Howard and K. E. Wagner inspired music.
Ohhhhhh yes, you know it, reading and listening to it, when when whatever I read sword and sorcery and fantasy, I read it while i listened to it, but to sci-fi, I put on Star Trek and Star Wars…………..sword and sorcery and heavy metal yeah
Cannot wait for this. As much as i adore De la torre and doug braithwaite's work, i think Jonas Scharf offers something different and interesting too. Not forgetting the excellent colouring! This really feels like a new golden age for Howard fans. The Howadverse seems like a great idea. Jim Zub and the rest of the team can do no wrong in my eyes. Long may it continue!
@@ottohoulihan2743 Zircher's Kane reminds me of Barry Windsor Smith's Conan. If that makes any sense. Well, I'm always happy seeing different artists interpretations of Howard's characters.
You've covered a lot of Howard and even dipped into Wagner so far (Two giants in the field IMO)....do you have any interest in/plans for Michael Moorcock at any stage? I've always found the concept of "the champion eternal" fascinating (I know it wasn't invented by MM, but he certainly brought it to the mainstream back in the 60s/70's). The Erekose novels are particularly troubling because he remembers too much of his last life and can't let his memories of his last wife go...but Corum, Elric, Hawkmoon, Cain of old Mars, Von Beck etc are all cracking series as well IMO. I own them and have read them all several times.
I started reading Conan again thanks to the good insights.
Keep up the good work!
Great news!
Great job! ⚔️
@@AnAgeUndreamedOf Mr. Shanks, people were asking if you came up with the term "Howardverse". I read it first in your essay.

The Howardverse is part of the Cthulhu-mythos.
Absolutely.

We will cover Bran Mak Morn too. Great character.
Now that sword and sorcery and heavy metal yeah
We like both! 🙂
Here for the Howardverse
I love Shanks, but I'm not so sure he's the progenitor of "the Howardverse"
@@jimhoward7624 It may have been coined before, but we encountered it first in his recent essay.
Wow, it’s almost “Eternal Champion “ of different worlds, that is cool,………….sword and sorcery and heavy metal yeah

I never heard of Jonas Scharf before but he nailed Solomon Kane and El Borak with Kane looking more like Peter Cushing.
@@EternalCrusader-it1jn Yeh it's a great looking older Kane compared to Zircher's younger version. Exciting times!

Channel quality improved a lot recently
Thank you so much.

We will absolutely cover Michael Moorcock, Elric and his other creations. Big fan. As for now, we work on a review series for the Kane books.
Now where is Kull? Was he really slain?
"Somehow, Kull will return."
Very cool
Adding the word "-verse" to everything now is getting so old.
And on top of that using "explained" is just as bad.
Horrible
Thank you for the feedback. We wish you a good day.
Cleaning out my house for move and found several of my giant Conan comics. Still have my Conan, Tarzan and John Carter of Mars collection.
