The old K has a lower pitch and sounds a bit drier. For me that makes it a good ‘main’ ride. I would consider the other two as more ‘left-side’/alternative rides which are nice to move to when the musical expression needs to be more ‘busy’, ‘suspenseful’ etc. They work well in combination. I use a thin (1775 g.) 20” Istanbul Agop SE jazz ride as my alternate ride, to achieve the same effect. It has that trashy, higher pitched quality to it, but still doesn,t spin out of control.
The problem is, it's almost impossible to describe a cymbal's sound characteristics objectively. Terms such as dry, washy, complex, buttery, trashy, dark and light are often pretty subjective and don't adequately describe the sounds being heard. When it comes down to personal preference, it's often a case of either liking or disliking a particular cymbal.
Tim honestly seemed kinda bored when presenting some Duco cymbals in his overall series video. I was haunted for weeks by the left hand ride he showed. I ended up getting it after he helped me track it down. So, yeah, I think cymbal sounds are really personal. I liked Tim's cymbal more than he did apparently!
Had a thought about these kinds of ugly ducklings or "Butter cymbals"...they're the opposite of "Cutting through the mix" cymbals in that by themselves their beauty isn't obvious but when they play with a band the bad stuff melts away and they sit beautifully in the band. Hard to develop an ear/taste for that.
I like them all, especially the old K. And your playing too! Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much!
Every cymbals has a sweet spot. You just gotta know how to play them .
I agree, they do work together. Great players can make a garbage can lid work
I swear some garbage can lids sound great!
Yes they do
Great cymbals, great playing, great video. Cheers!
Thanks so much!

Hope you and you tube are both still here in fifty years so you can play this triad again and see how they stack up.
Well, the cymbals will be, me, maybe not. I'll be in my 90's in 50 years. lol!
The odd one out has a sort of China-ish quality. I liked it. As you say, it's not as nice as the others; but it is *exciting*.

On the money.
I love this guy
I love you. Thanks for watching!
That's quite interesting: to my ears it seems, that the old K combines the main characters of the two Roberts' cymbals.
Interesting

That was my favorite one of the batch too.

Totally agree!
All nice cymbals :D
