How not to catch bass on surface lures

Had a go from the shore with the lures hoping for a bass Didn't get one so it would be great if you could give my some pointers, I'm sure im doing plenty wrong thanks #fishing #lurefishing #bassfishing

Great vid Lee ans thanks for the mention I appreciate it.
Some advice I have.
Slow down with that tapping and reel it's look very aggressive in the video try a 1-2---1-2---1-2---12 obviously you can mix the tempo up but try and slow it down.
One more tip is move more it seemed you staying in the same spot.
I would say normally after 10 cast or do mover 50 yards further up do the same again.

A surface lure I use often when other lures are not catching is a Seaspin pro 90 and 120 you may want to add one to your collection. If the fish are there you will catch.

Only advice I would give (I fish more bait than lures) is vary the retrieve a bit more, slow/fast twitch/don't twitch etc. And try different lures maybe. Tight lines 🎣

Nice settup for lure fishing there mate.fished that area many times back in the late 80s early 90s .brings back some good memories of taking bass on Toby lures over the big tides in August time .tight lines.
