I would rather watch Hugh's band nowadays.. than the present day Stranglers. When i go to watch a Hugh gig, i take it for what it is, something new that "He" has created. When i go and watch a todays Stranglers gig, i get an uneasy feeling that it aint really The Stranglers anymore. Hugh's band have as many original Stranglers members in it, as the band that today call themselves The Stranglers.
A bit harsh. He was just mentioning something that he remembered and obviously stuck with him. Never thought of him as trying to impress. He always seems pretty genuine to me.
Can’t wait to see him on 1 August here in Sydney. The man is an intelligent maestro, so worthy of greater recognition.
