@garethmillard - Also Henry McCullough (Grease Band) played a few live shows with Dr. Feelgood but looks like there's no footage available, what a pity...
I actually saw Dr Feelgood a couple of times in Wellington New Zealand in the mid 80s (With Gordon Russell) and at the time of the Mad Man Blues album. I yelled out DUST MY BROOM and instantaneously Elmore James immortal Slide guitar riff belted out. Times like that are truly surreal
What a gem! Thanks for putting it up here. A cracking band performance with all four members really on their game. Both bands were great (still are perhaps in the case of Dr Feelgood who are still doing the rounds). I'll share widely if that's OK!
That's what FB is for. I actually filmed Dr Feelgood in the mid to late 90s with Pete Gage on vocals but they were never the same band after Brilleaux left. I might put that gig up next week
I wasn't a fan of Dr Feelgood, but I recognized that they had personality and a lot for the guitar of that restless guitarist... I don't remember his name. This guitar player in the video is excellent... I didn't know him. And the concert is also very good. I just missed that detail of Dr Feelgood's sound. Thanks for the video.
The guitarist you would be thinking of is Wilko Johnson (original guitarist). The one who was always walking forwards and backwards with a demented type look. Yeah, Slim would have been the ideal replacement for Gordon Russell but he had only formed The Hamsters the previous year. Dr Feelgood were one of the frontrunner of the pubrock scene. Always delivered
@@groovedohg Yes, that's the name. What little I heard of them was in 1974 or 75, at a concert for the BBC. I didn't like it but the guitar caught my attention. Then I saw them on video here on You Tube. Thank you.
Seventysounds. The Wilko era had its moments, but for me personally, it was when Down to the Doctors and Milk n Alcohol came out that I really appreciated them. Loved the Boogie side to them as I was a massive Quo fan ar the time
@@pit2ryan3 Well, he was impressive on this show, but I get what you mean. In the Hamsters, a lot of their shows were Hendrix and then ZZ Top. They did a few 100% Hendrix tribute gigs as well. I filmed The Hamsters as well at the Shepherds Bush Empire around 97 . Might put it up in a couple of weeks
@@groovedohg - I met Barry Martin in London in the early 90s and he confirmed that... He was surprised they were filming the gig... The full video is about 80 minutes long...
I saw the warmup for these shows, at the old and much-missed OliverTwist venue in Colchester, Essex. Hell of a night.
Incredible footage, followed this band from Wilko to Walwyn but never realised that Slim had a short stint with them ! He looked to do a Great job 🎸

@@groovedohg - No, I think Barry was too much "classic rock oriented" for The Feelgoods...
