The coin guy needs his own radio talk show.
He should just do his own podcast
Hello, i am a collector from Russia and most of all I like to look at The Coin Guy. I really love it when he tells stories about the period of 1960-1990 years, about how much it cost, about what people collected. I wish you and him health and success!
Alexey
Speg, I watched the entire video...and it was terrific! So much knowledge to unpack in 48 minutes. Your LCS owner is awesome.

I'm with Coin Guy. Buy it all, buy what you like.
Im 71 and so I easily relate to him. Always love this guy!
I sorely wish I collected coins as a kid and not baseball cards in the 80s.
I collected bottle caps haha
I collected both coins and basketball cards. Only 2 sets of my hundreds of sets of cards did better than the coins over the 20 or so years after. Fleer 1988 1987. They had a subset that were stickers. All my friends would ruin those and stick them to whatever thing they thought would be funny that day. I started telling them I'd buy all the good ones like the Jordans and such. I had almost 50 of the Jordans. And I found my old card collection a few years back. I was so stoked when I looked up those sticker sets . It was like winning the lottery. I was way surprised at how easily I sold them all and how high the prices were at the time. I guess people buy a bunch and send them to be graded. I guess if you get a perfect ten grade they are worth a mint
If you collected jordan in the 80’s you would be doing pretty good
I collected bottle caps, baseball cards, and coins. I still have my coins.
Right or wish my parents had an had the old coins from back then can't imagine how many rare old stuff passed through there fingers everyday crazy to think it's like a first car from a grandparent I can't imagine
Collect what you enjoy and have fun with it. Sage advice. Thanks guys!
I love Coin Guy !!! He is real with the business!!! Thanks to Spegtacular for posting!!! Keep up the good work guys ...
Started collecting US coins because I live there... Shifted to Germany because my family was predominantly from there before we moved to the US in the 1700's. Ended up focusing on paper currency from Eastern Africa and Central/South America in recent years. It's always shifting for me, I never put down a collecting niche, but I often shift focus every few years. Gotta keep it interesting!
Exactly. Keep it interesting.
Collecting German coins, particularly anything before WWI, can be challenging, to say the least, with every separate kingdom, principality and even town or bishopric issuing their own. Later paper currency is also fascinating. Most collectors have heard about the post-WWI inflationary period bills (about 1923) with crazy denominations in the billions of marks, but some of my favorite are the colorful small denomination bills issued just before that, during and just after WWI, issued by localities, usually worth less than a mark--similar to the "fractional currency" once issued in the USA in the 19th Century in denominations like 3, 5, 10, 15, 25 or 50 cents. But the German stuff is often colorful and beautiful and filled with folklore, poetry and charming illustrations.
Love listening to you guys!
I love when I go to my bank and teller says do you also collect 1 dollar coins I have 7bof them in drawer. Of course i do. Make out with 7 morgan for 7 bucks. That's the best
I'm a new subscriber, and your content is awesome! And I have to say this...CoinGuy is a national treasure. I could sit and listen to him talk for days. It's also amazing he's so generous with his time with you. I've watched other "influencers" who host recurring chats with shop owners, and there's always a sense of urgency that they need to get back to business. I wish this man was my grandpa or dad!
Such a wealth of knowledge & sound advice from Coin Guy. Always enjoy these vids. Thanks Speg from the land down under. 👍
Stay safe in the Outback
I'm in the process of putting together a walker set myself. I collect them for the history and I like the looks of them
I enjoy these videos immensely. They combine the rare qualities of being entertaining, informative, and well edited. However, I feel compelled to respond to the video beginning at the 31:00 minute mark approximately. I am both a numismatist AND a beekeeper in equal measure. Of course, the bees THEMSELVES don't feel the "sting" of inflation but, beekeepers DO. Like all others, beekeepers have seen a dramatic increase in the cost of their inputs as well as the costs of production. Lumber used to build the boxes which hive our bees has gone through the roof. A portion of every beekeeper's apiary must be replaced every year (more or less due to environmental degradation, et al). Similarly, the cost of sucrose (sugar) and other feeding supplements have seen a sharp increase. This additional feeding is necessary to prevent our bees from sickness and starving in times of dearth. Bees also must be treated for a really nasty, destructive, and persistent pest known as the Varroa Destructor Mite. The treatments utilized to control the mites have skyrocketed in price. Most honey is supplied by one of the many larger beekeeping operations which requires the hives being transported several times per year to the areas where the bees are able to locate the best nectar sources. This requires the beekeeper hiring a trucker and rig, paying for the associated fuel costs, and of course the labor in loading and unloading the boxes. Harvesting honey necessitates lifting 100+ pound boxes of honey, removing the frames, uncapping and spinning the honey. This process requires yet more labor, the increased costs of electricity, and specialized (and expensive) equipment. Further, it is becoming harder and harder to locate our hives in areas that are relatively "safe" for our precious bees. Pesticides and the loss of floral sources have hit the bees hard. Landowners are often forced to charge the beekeepers more because THEIR costs have risen too. In the final analysis, it takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and money to bring honey to your table.
Wow! Talk about a win win! I got the coin knowledge from Guy... then learned about bees! 🐝 Pretty intresting stuff! Didn't realize all that went into it. Thank you!
Started out and I am still mostly a type set collector. I have a complete dansco 7070 for example and it took many years to complete it… I also have always enjoyed raw coins mostly… I am a MS collector and not a fan of proofs…however, in the last two years I started collecting certified coins and I think my next collection will be a full type set but graded.
Agree with Guy, three dollar princess gold dollars are very cool. The princess
design is my favorite, one of the coolest the US mint ever produced. Can you imagine using this coin for a transaction? Incredible history.
I am a fairly new collector. My goal is a balance between types of coins and numistmatics so the silver value and gold value are about the same. Mixed with stuff I enjoy holding and thinking about the history. It is becoming more difficult to find silver and gold within my budget. American Silver Eagles are great, but the premiums are too high at times. Good luck with your stack.
I have a coworker friend that's been buying gold since the 1980s and he has two large security deposit boxes at the bank full of them, about $10 million worth.
Coin Guy makes learning about coins enjoyable. I like the emphasis on collecting because you enjoy it and love the hobby. Personally I can't afford to invest more than two or three hundred bucks, but I'm totally going to start getting more into coins because of you guys!
Thanks, SpegTacular! Always appreciate an LCS owner’s point view from the “trenches”. Keep stackin y’all! 🤙🏻
Coin guy definitely has that certain something. Obviously the knowledge is there but he also puts it over in such an easy to digest entertaining way. Thank you Speg for bringing him to us!
Side note... showing my age here but am I the only one who thinks he looks like Archie Bunker? 😜
Can't wait for the next one!
Great job Guy!! Love listening to him talk about the history of all coins!!!
man idk what this guy is talking about a good 75% of the time but im still here for it and love it.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience! It feels like I'm there at the store , what a privilege! Love it and carry on Please!
Brilliant video, I’m subscribing. It’s great to see this kind of thing, especially as I’m in UK as we don’t have these kind of shops and amazing owners who know so much. It’s particularly good to see someone open carry. Brilliant thank you.
Crazy how well that old $10k check looks.
Pick a few types of Silver and a few types of Gold Coins.
Some rare and some common, over time you'll notice one or two of your selection selling cheaper than usual this is the time to buy.
As time goes on, slow down on the ones that didn't do so well and buy more coins that did better.
Secondly ensure you have a high number of Silver coins that have done well, this will give you options and more potential sales in the future,
The art of buying coins is learning how to sell them first.
I really wish I started stacking when I was in my teens. I was definitely interested in it back then just never did anything until I was in my mid 30s and found a Morgan dollar and some 64s half dollars. I'm trying to get my niece and nephews into at least stacking.
I visit my local estate auctions and pick up coins whenever I can. Beware, that auctioneers have no idea what they're selling. I have found loads of counterfeit Morgans and Trade Dollars. Always bring a scale and calipers to any inspection. Just because an auctioneer claims something is a Trade Dollar, doesn't mean it's not a Chinese fake.
I'm a simple man. I see coin Guy I like the video.
Another great video... Thanks!
Sometimes I go back to the Playlist to learn with speg and coin guy. I have a great time watching and hanging out.
Really great information in this show. Something for every level of collector. Thanks so much.
I appreciate you coming and checking the videos out.
I always enjoy your videos and learn something every time I watch. Thank you both!
Thank you :)
This video proves my opinion on grading services. If you plan to keep the coins and pass them on to the family then ICG is perfect. Same with ANACS… they give you peace of mind and confirm the coin. Save your money unless you are selling them or need them to be in a different slab.
Brilliant gentlemen, integrity as well!
The famous Southernmost buoy in Key West, Florida is now decorated in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth. Come to Key West to take pictures.
Thanks for bringing the coin guy to y-Tube. I identify with yourself and coin guy, great way to spend time with unique people. Coin guys honesty is the whip sends me flying ahead. Honest knowledge is someone to go to for investments of my ducks (three nephews). Thank you! For another great documentary.👍
Very educational and enjoyable video. Inspires me to collect, save, hoard more coins. I love all antiques but like the idea of smaller sizes and still able to search for treasures. At retirement age I see a new hobby re-emerging for me. To organize and catalogue for our heirs is a smart thing to consider.
Great video man. This guy is fun to listen to. Coin shops are gems in themselves. It can be such a great experience.
Glad everything going along for you okay praying for you good to see you up and running been thinking about you just busy to shop having to ship out on Sunday so many silver orders
Please help Coin Guy get his website user friendly for us collectors not in Florida.
I love this guy! Thank you thank you!!
Lol he’s gotta get his own help for that. I have my own website for selling bullion that I’ve got to worry about ;)
I know he’s aware of the issues though.
Always enjoy listening to Coin Guy. Thanks Speg.
thank you for sharing this...I love the knowledge this gentlemen offers...I have been collecting for over 30 years now...I love to colllect old constitional silver and putting together coin albums...In time It will be my grandchildrens...But when I work on them I love holding the coins in my hand and just wonder who held this coin...keep the info coming and thank you....

Good morning speg and coin guy.. dalm Love those cc Morgan's he has great video at the shop talking about coins and history 🙂👍
Good morning!
I really appreciate taking into account us newbies!! Loved the video
I really enjoy the coin guy, while he is right gold would be easier to run with in a SHTF scenerio,it would also be harder to spend. For example if gold is worth $1800 an ounce now,it would be priceless in a tough situation, are you going to give an ounce of gold for a dozen eggs ?Are you going to cut it in tiny pieces ?Where as on ounce of silver would be more practical to spend on food or supplies.
Coin guy is awesome. every video is a history lesson. Learn so much every time.👍
Another great video from Guy and Speg. Always interesting and never boring 😀
Another enjoyable CoinGuy visit appreciated. Thanks
Coin Guy, a great American! Excellent video.
The Coin Guy is Always informative and interesting. I love getting my hands on pre 1920 925 British silver especially the Crowns. Gorgeous coins.
PS it would be nice for you British viewers if you and the coin guy did a British and Empire silver coin show.
Good morning everyone. Have a good safe day , it's Friday.
Have a nice day
Another great episode really enjoy these style videos 👍. Coin guy really motivates and inspires 🙂
Coin guy! Coin guy! Next time when I'm in Florida. I want to visit!!
Great video, I love interaction between you and coin guy. I don’t want to own a piece of plastic , I want a raw coin in hand. You might as well just have a picture in my opinion.
Coin guy is THE MAN!!!
I like collecting coins because it is like a medicine to my mind I like raw coins Regardless if it is silver or gold
💜Hi.
WoW , you are an incredible Man I wish I met as a kid.
I'm 63yrs right now, and I just like pennies. I have so many questions , but best not here.
But I'm gonna hold on to you here on the internet , yes! .

Great interview with Guy...Atta boy Speg the old adage, buy what you like.
Drinking coffee, hooking up spegtacular and coin guy, life is good. thanks for the vid. As with the size of your collection, mass always wins, ha ha ha .
Best content on youtube. My family comes together to watch
Great comments - your personal interest and satisfaction should guide your decision- while keeping an eye on spending limits- good advice
Australian coins have the Queen on them from when she first became the Queen up until the present constantly updating her image with age.
great interview my hero mr guy
Great episode to start a Saturday morning.
You've got so much gold with Guy.
Guy is truly my favorite. Even over Tim Tim Tim Tim Tim
Excellent report
You are a very smart man both of you, they worry some people don't know, traveling with cash coins jewelry, if you are pulled over and police stop you-they find any of it, they can take it from you, so please talk a little about that.
I love what you continue to do with coin guy nuff love from Barbados
Thank you.
Great video SpegTacular! Love these chats with Coin Guy!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Keep them coming?
By all means, as long as Coin Guy and you want to make them I'll watch!!! And I'm sure many, many others will!!
Guy is a wealth of knowledge. Very interesting .....................again.
Thanks, Speg.
Very Nice SPEG!! Thx Coin Guy!! Cheers JJ
My coin guy. I spent 20 years just buying coins and selling none until 2017 with most of them through great collections. I’ve not searched a dealer that I might trust.
Paying for Grading is well worth it , If you have a good eye , I even Love Vintage Grading books , the coins are sized and the information is Solid from Learned numismatologist.
1. Never Stop Stacking Silver .
A Silver Dime for a Loaf of Bread .For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
Cheers Mr. Guy !!!
Good morning Spectacular, coin guy !! 👊☕️👍
Good morning Mark
Excellent video, this coin stuff is endless.
Great video and very informative video spectacular. I really enjoy listing to you and coin guy. I really like that $1000 bill coin guy has in his store. I've always wanted to get a $1000 dollar bill or even a $500 dollar bill for my collection. I can only Imagine trying to make change for one of those bills if someone spent one of those large bills at the store.
Guy for the win
The high in the 80s was silver $139.29 on February 1980
Nice collection! Informative video
My favorite Coin Guy!
I’m partial to halves. Mostly Walkers and Capped Bust. I also collect silver trimes and am working on all denominations made 100 years before I was born which unfortunately is a key year, so it’s more of a quest.
Great show as always. Guy is the best.
I could talk to coin guy all day about coins lol. Loved the video when he pulled out all them Carson city's and key dates all I could think was dang . I've got 9 cc's myself and some key dates but not the 1895 S .
I just bought $10k silver bars, cash from an LCS in Tampa and they guy who sold it to me, never asked my name. That's the way I like it. The 4$ premium sucks but it is what it is.
I would be interested to see what Coin Guy likes as far as modern coins. There's a lot of cool stuff coming out of the XXI mint and the kind of stuff you'd find on Power Coin.
Great video! Enjoyed the info
Altered coins... Integrity is only something you can giveaway. You can not go out to gather it. You have to live it day by day.
I love Coin Guy
The same is happening to the GSA Morgan dollars The values increase so much and now the market is being flooded with them and now prices should be declining.
The premium on honey and the premium on money.
Let all transactions be negotiable. Hope it all works out.
Long live Liberty.
so informative thank you thank you 👍👍👍
Hey I love that Stragy. The coinguy said hey its not my problem. Hahaha cause 100% facts... I do have to agree with him tho . I like the lil nicer stuff also
God Bless America, God Bless Coin Guy 👍👍
Lol, when I go to the ATM, I withdraw $400 at a time. I get 2 $100s and the rest in twentys. I'd rather have it all in twentys. But yeah, 100s are the highest denominations now, we really do need a thousand dollar bill again. At least a five hundred dollar bill to start. I paid my roofer $4k in cash a few yrs ago, I gave him a pretty thick envelope full of hundreds.
Awesomeness gentlemen 😊❤😊
Love you guys
