Thank you Terry for taking the time to make these informative videos. They are so needed. So many people have the software and don’t know where to start. Your approach to teaching is very effective.
Hi Terry! Thank you so much for these amazing PE Design videos! I really want to learn this software, after using Janome MBX for around 12 years. My favorite digitizing is making appliqués. Instead of using the actual “appliqué” wizard, I like to create a simple placement line, then duplicate it and make that a triple run line and use it as the tack down/cutting line, then duplicate one more time and make this the final sewdown. I usually prefer to pick a motif stitch for this, over the satin stitch. My question..... Is there a simple, comparable way to do this in PE Design? I have watched a lot of your videos and I apologize if you have already showed this very thing, and I may not have seen that one. Again, thanks so much!! These videos are treasures! Have a great day! Connie
Constance Walsh - if you are using a shape or digitize your own shape, you can easily duplicate the shape, set the region to no sew and apply the run stitch, triple run and motif stitch to each line. You select the first shape in the sewing order and choose copy or duplicate.
I used this technique to make an appliqué of the front facing elephant included with the software but when I tried to put it on a stick to use on my sewing machine it wouldn't let me. I kept getting the message "This is a read only file". Has anyone else had this problem and how did you overcome it? Thanks.
You Joanne Duggan - I don’t recall creating a video for this. You might want to watch my video on Stitch file’s because you most likely will have to convert the design to select a placement line that can be used as both an outline and for a fill pattern.
love your pe-11 lessons. great lessons and great teacher

I'm watching all of your pe design 11 videos. Learning it all at once may not be a good idea but the videos are there for later. thanks
Thank you very much! I was racking my brain how to do this. Look forward for more videos x
I LOVE KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS!!! Thank you!
Thanks again Terry

You

Ok, watching this again. Why is 10mm too big for the triangle?
Chan Weinmeister because it is a satin stitch.
So the satin zigzags can't go over a certai size?
Chan, satin stitches at 10mm are loose and will get caught and pulled with physical wear. I recommend no longer than 7mm.
