+Susan Stewart Hi Susy, I would first trace the outline of the whole cup, then the inside of the handle. Select the hole and the cup, remove the overlaps (lesson 35) then make sure the "fill" is turned off in the hole. If that is confusing send the graphic and PES file you are working on to my web site (kathleen@oleens.com) and I will take a look. Kathleen
+Susan Stewart I would cut out both fabric pieces first in a separate hooping. Did you get a chance to look at lesson 41 part 2 that I made for you? I hope it clarified some things not in this lesson
Is the ZZ stitch acutally a satin stitch? It appears that the EV stitch in the final design is not covered up all the way by the ZZ stitch......and how did you do the features of the face and collar?
Doris Alvarez I should have used a more contrasting color when I traced with the open straight/curved tool under the "Home" tab "Shapes" icon. Click on the little arrow and all of your tools will be there. As you hover your mouse over the different icons under Outline, Rectangle, Circle, Arc, Manual Punch and Shapes you will see a brief description of each.
Doris Alvarez I should add, the explanation I gave applies to version 10. In Next you will find the line tools on the Home tab under the Line/Region icon.
How did you open up the cat? What format does something like that need to be in? I want to digitize an applique from clip art and a drawing my grandson drew, too.
You should be able to open most jpg, bmp, tif, png, wmf, eps and others by simply cut and pasting. See lesson 31 on importing image files. I'm using PED Next in this tutorial however it works the same on PED10 ruclips.net/video/JxCk8b4iszY/видео.html If that doesn't work on some files go to about 1 minuet in this video and try the drag and drop method. ruclips.net/video/-yw4ZXH7Iok/видео.html
Thank you for being here.
can u please do a tutorial on a logo with hand i don't know what to do with fingers ????
Hi~How can i fill the color with the drawing? I saw dotted line when i use the shape tools~ and can't fill color in it~ Thanks a lot~
Very clear. Thank you.
Hi, do you use a regular mouse to trace images or something more specific? a mouse pen? Your videos are excellent! thank you.
I still use a mouse. If I were starting out I probably would learn on a pen or something more precise.
Thank you :)
Is there a way to fill the applique with a fabric preview? Or color?
I have seen that feature on other software, but I don't believe PED10 or 11 does that.
@@OleensEmbroidery Thanks for the reply. I actually figured out how to do it in PhotoShop. I love your channel! Thanks for the tutorials.
Where can I learn to digitize character appliques? How do I make the facia features detailed. Is there a tutorial for that?
+Brooke Campbell Almost all of my 43 beginner tutorials teach that. Please subscribe and start with lesson 1
I'm not sure how to subscribe. I have been following the lessons on RUclips. Is there somewhere else I should ho?
+Brooke Campbell If you can suffer through all 43 lessons starting with the first, you will understand how to digitize. Don't give up
Hi
If I want to make an applique of a cup with a handle from an image how do I trace the outline and the hole for the handle space.
Thanks
Susy

+Susan Stewart Susan, I have just published another video on applique that I hope addresses your question.
+OleensEmbroidery Hi
How do you cut out your applique fabrics if your cats head is being sewn first then the body?
+Susan Stewart I would cut out both fabric pieces first in a separate hooping. Did you get a chance to look at lesson 41 part 2 that I made for you? I hope it clarified some things not in this lesson
Hi, how do you trace around the kitty's head ? Please
with the "outline" tool under shapes
how do you use the applique in PE Design plus?
+Susie Poe I have never used PE Design Plus. Not sure how it compares to Next and 10.

The zig zag is also called a satin, column, or steel stitch. See ruclips.net/video/JckOxZvx39M/видео.html
I missed how you traced. Where is the tool to do that?

Hi can i please send you files to digitize them for me ?
+Tumelo Manamela Yes. Send the graphic file to "kathleen@oleens.com" for a free estimate.
