I'm so JEALOUS. The holographic books make me drool. The artwork is amazing. But I agree, I like to imagine my own characters... LOL so generally, I try to not pick books with pictures of people in the book. I'd love to see how long it takes for you to finish all in this haul LOL. Please do an update once you do. A speed run of review again.
I just finished this phenomenal new book of fairy tales entitled Sillies, Fancies, and Trifles - it was phenomenal and I think you'd love it. It would go with the lovely recommendations here. Keep up the beautiful videos :)
Hello, my name is Christina and I'm new to your chancel and the books I'm reading are, The last song by Nicholas Sparks Bridesmaid Blitz by Sarah Webb, The little Paris book shop by Nina George, The block party by Jamie Day.
Ok, I know sjm prob looks intimidating, but ALL her books are so good! U will absolutely LOVE them, I’m telling u it’s definitely worth it ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
@@readwithames (Apologies in advance for making this rly long but I tried to get everything in here ❤️🔥) Ok, so first, before talking about the entire mess about the reading order for the TOG (Throne of Glass) series, u gotta know what order to read the general Maasverse in (I think the name is pretty self-explanatory, it’s basically js all of Sjm’s books). So for the TOG and ACOTAR (A Court of Thorns and Roses) series, it doesn’t matter which one u read first. If u like romancy stuff more and want something like that to really hook u into the Maasverse, u start with ACOTAR. Also definitely start with it if u haven’t rly read many books with fae and don’t understand like fae lore and all that bc the world building and all that is rly easy to follow along with and it’s js a nice kinda comfort read that still has it’s intensity, especially as u get farther into the books (like ACOWAR - A Court of Wings and Ruin). However, if ur more of an epic fantasy person where romance is a smaller sub-plot and you’ve already been in the fantasy genre long enough to rly understand fae lore and not get too confused with any world building and stuff like that, start with TOG; however realize that the romance stuff is rly small and gradually gets bigger as u get into the later books. Now, once you’ve read both those series, THEN u read the CC (Crescent City) one. There r a lot of Easter eggs and stuff thrown into the CC books that u won’t understand if u read them first. And then there’s things that happen later in the series where u NEED to read TOG and ACOTAR first so ur not absolutely confused. Js trust me on that. It doesn’t matter whether u read TOG or ACOTAR first, but u GOTTA save CC for the end. So now that I’ve talked abt that, let’s move on to the entire mess of the reading order for the TOG series, which basically revolves around the issue of when to read the novella/prequel, TAB (The Assassin’s Blade). So me personally, I started with TOG bc I wanted to experience the more emotional side, and I read TAB third. This is the order I’d recommend the most, however, some people like to read TAB first bc, rather than going into TOG blind, they want to know more about the FMC (Celaena) and her past. Either way works, and there is no ‘wrong’ order to read the series in, unlike some ppl claim. Sjm had posted that her preferred order of reading the series was by having TAB come third, but again, if u rly want to, u can read it first. It depends on ur preference really cause some ppl either hate not reading it first or r happy they read it third and continue doing so during any reread. Js think abt it this way: U read it first, you’ll have moments in TOG where you’ll be like ‘Oh I acc understand this’ or ‘hey, I know what she’s talking about.’ And if u read it third, her past will be more obscure and when u finally read TAB, you’ll rly have an emotional connection and understand things abt her past that made her into what she is now. Another thing to take into consideration is that Celaena only rly starts opening up abt her past with the reader between COM (Crown of Midnight) and HOF (Heir of Fire), so reading it third, in theory, does make the most sense. Again, totally up to u. The order is is the big thing nobody rly agrees a hundred percent on lol, so I’m js giving u my opinion. However, wtv order u decide to read it in won’t rly make the books any less amazing, and js either adds to ur understanding before u rly read the actual books, or gives u a deeper understanding of the emotional side of what, exactly, she went through, bc if u read the first two books on what she’s currently like and then read TAB third, you’ll see why she is how she is and why certain things/events can trigger her. In the end, u can still read TAB first and the series will still be absolutely amazing, but if u want my opinion on it, I’d recommend reading it third, and if u end up acc liking the series better when reading the book first, u can do that in any rereads u end up doing. Also, before anyone comes at me for this, lemme js mention that some ppl acc prefer to read TAB fourth, which, imo, makes absolutely zero sense; lemme explain. If u read it first or third, I already explained what happens, but if u read it fourth, then ur most likely gonna find the book a bore, especially if it’s ur first time reading the series, cause ur gonna wanna get on with it and know what happens next rather than read some random short stories abt Celaena’s past that don’t rly seem like they matter anymore. That’s basically the shortened version of reasons on why to NOT read it fourth, so js trust me when I say reading it first or third make a thousand times more sense then reading it fourth. Although I’m not attacking the ppl who genuinely do enjoy reading it fourth, I definitely wouldn’t say it’s the best way to read the series as, again, all the short stories aren’t rly gonna seem relevant anymore, unless you’ve acc read the entire series and know what it’s about. Anyway, the next thing I wanna mention rq is about the tandem read with EOS (Empire of Storms) and TOD (Tower of Dawn). Normally the ppl who don’t do the tandem read end up HATING TOD bc EOS ends on a rly big cliffhanger that makes u wanna hurry up and get to the book AFTER TOD, KOA (Kingdom of Ash). Basically, EOS and TOD happen at the same time, so if u read EOS first, then ur not gonna wanna read TOD and ur js gonna find the entire thing a bore; and if u read TOD first, then that spoils EOS and it’s not gonna be the same. So that’s why ppl came up with the tandem read. If u do the tandem read, then you’ll only have a few chapters of TOD left when ur done with EOS, and then u can hurry up and read KOA. So, trust me when I say, DO THE TANDEM READ. U can js search up sum like ‘EOS and TOD tandem read guide’ then press images and u can easily find one there. Lastly, if u have any questions after reading this ridiculously long (sorry 😅) comment, then there’s this other RUclipsr, Ruby Jean, who made a video going into further detail abt the Maasverse titled ‘A Spoiler Free Guide to Reading Sarah J Maas: How to read Throne of Glass, ACOTAR, & Crescent City’. This would prob be rly helpful to watch lol. Anyway, if u did end up reading this rly long thing, then know that I love ur vids and keep it up! Ur amazing! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
