I’ve had German cars for a few years but changed to the Kia Sportage 4 petrol. I’m 6”1 and fit in this car no problem, it’s a lovely drive very smooth and a pleasure to own and run.
Totally agree - I've had mine for 7 years - awesome - no faults or problems. Just traded it for a gt-line s 1.6 turbo petrol can't wait. Best car I ever owned including so called "prestige" brands with N47 self-destructing engines ( the ultimate blowing up machine ).
Kias are really doing well. Their produicts are decent, well-specced, affordable, economical, and they usually handle surprisingly well. All in all, they impress me, and I hope they continue as they are.
An absolute joke!!! I did a test-drive of Quasqai, VW T-Roc, Mercedes GLA 2016 and Kia Sportage and I can assure you that the Kia rides the most comfortable of the listed. Especially with Quashqai, things were very bad ... every hole and unevenness is felt in the kidneys not only in the back but also in the front. Kia is also very quiet and easy to drive.
I bought Kia Sportage GT line Turbo Diesel last month and it's one of the best I used with all loaded features. #Stunning look, Sleek and Best mileage (6 litre per 100km) on Sport mode on Free ways. 7 years warranty is BIG plus👏👏👏👏👏
LOVE our 2019 EX and 2020 SX turbo Sportages. Rock solid performance from each with ZERO issues! I’ve owned a lot of cars in my 60 plus years including most recently a 2022 CR-V and 2023 Toyota Highlander. Strongly disliked issues with both and decided to add the 2020 to the family. Fell in love with driving my college aged daughters 2019!! The SX turbo is an added bonus on mine. It drives like a European sports car!!
It's good to see the UK embracing Korean cars. As an Aussie pilot, the car reviewers' preoccupation with hard plastics is truly discombobulating. Good to see the South Korean cars 'kicking goals'.
Great looking suv, despite the negative comments id still buy one an will get one of these for next car, hopefully get the isg4 or the gt line, not fussed if diesel or petrol, just really love the looks inside and out an plenty room too, kia have done a great job with this car 😍👌👍
The interior is one of the things I liked most about mine, the design is nice, most of the materials are good and it feels very solid. I find VW group cars very dull in comparison but just my opinion.
Why do reviewers not discus availability of 4 wheel drive, which is essential for those of us who need to go into muddy fields to pursue our hobbies, no not shooting.
Bought a new Kia Sportage GT Line, 1.6 diesel. After 4,000km, intermittent loss of power. Called Kia. They said it's not normal (well d'uh). Two days later, total loss of power at 130kmh, engine light on, emergency stop on motorway. Kia warranty wanted me to pay for my taxi home (200 euros)....anyway, 1 month later, they still have my car and the problem was the fuel injector, which they don't stock as it is a new car and they have no date for production or delivery. Terrible customer service. They tried to give my family of four a Vauxhall Corsa as a courtesy car when I can't even fit the children's seats in. I can not recommend Kia at all, don't be fooled by the warranty!
Love your reviews but Please can we have a review of which SUVs have Heated Front Windscreens .. promised myself my next car would have to have one... thanks
This review misses the mark and doesn’t reflect my 12 months of Sportage GT Line diesel ownership - “...isn’t great to drive..” for me, your street cred just left the building - I’m calling euro snobbery. IIMHO.
I just tested it and it's not pleasant ride. My wife was on back seat and really didn't like it. I was really hoping to get this car but i will pass it
4000km into my brand new Kia Sportage GT Line and it broke down and the dealership can't even give me a date on when I can get it back. Trouble from the first couple 100 Kms. Will never buy one again.
Yeap. Got some issues after 4000 km. Generally I'm disappointed especially when you talk about a car with a tag price of 30k- GT line. Dealer told me that is nothing that they can do as long there is no error stored in the computer.
@@lewisjohn2597 I'm still not sure what to do. The car is brand new since October 2019. To sell it it would be a good idea but a waste of money. To keep it it would be a constant source of doubt. What if the car will stop accelerate from when I'm doing an overtake? I might kill my family or I could kill somebody. It will be my fault, not Kia, even that they know that they have a issue. Piece of shit. I highly recommend NOT TO BUY this car.
Avoid like the plague - my 71 plate has spent the past 6 months in the garage waiting for a cambelt tensioner - massive problem for Kia - I noticed at least 25 cars parked up at our local dealer - save your money and buy the new shape - no comparison
Hello, Happy New Year 2020 when it arrives. I dont see any up to date uk reviews on the newer compass on here. Many thanks, you'll help out alot whatcar
I’ve had my 2017 Sportage since new, It’s been a great car with the exception of the steering. This is the first review I’ve seen that has mentioned it, The constant need to make small inputs to keep the car straight on a motorway is irritating and makes a long journey very uncomfortable. This is a well known problem and I’m amazed that the latest versions are still blighted by it. If you use Motorways regularly I’d look elsewhere.
I’ve bought a Kia Sportage 1.6 diesel g T line lovely car to drive but find the seats on my right leg uncomfortable the stop start doesn’t work since I had it only bought 7 days ago … Took it back to Kia they said it doesn’t come on all the time ?? So I have booked it in for diagnostic check on the battery . Also the steering as the above comments say when on motorway you find yourselves making adjustments that’s not right ??
@@mrjohntitanic1 my steering has improved over time, it’s still not great but a lot better than it was. As far as the stop start goes, It’s only designed to turn off/on when there isn’t too much load on the battery. If you’ve just started the car and have the heated rear window, blower, and all the lights on then it decides the battery would have too much drain on it it without the engine running and therefore it doesn’t stop/start. Mines just clicked 50K miles and it’s been 100% reliable, I’d certainly buy another one.
GT LINE looks great, but Sportage version under this is not to recommend, empty interior, small touch screen difficult to find right buttons, and this I test 185 Hp drink diesel on sport mode. Kia is far to build a SUV modern, Sportage look pretty but is only that, I have a Kuga 2018 model 2 l , so much comfortable and with a big screen with a wheel easy to navigate, and a engine nice in consuming. And not to forget, compact but enough big space everyplace. This Korean car miss something, I find also that the carosseri is like plastic.

Nice enough car for the price but it does seem to have a major design flaw. It appears to be impossible to drive this vehicle at or below the speed limit. Shame.
Michael Grant and thus he was gifted children, and his life knew not sports cars anymore but his back appreciated the practical placing of the isofix points and the space in the boot.
True , better interior quality , much more comfortable in dealing with humps and bumps on the road , quite reliable and extremely pleasurable to drive , better dashboard layout and driving position , last but not least the moose test the kadjar did an amazing job but the sportage was about to flip on its side The kadjar is quite underrated unfortunately
You can fit two sets of golf clubs in the back just not at the same time. Wtf lol Yeah you can fit 12 fridge freezers in the back just not at the same time lol

It's surprising to hear so many negatives about Sportage, i love this car👍
It’s a pretty good looking SUV
I did a review of the Kia Sportage in my channel and I was surprised by how many people loved the Sportage!
Liking the laid back rear seats, more cars manufacturers need to take note of this option.
I absolutely looooove my Sportage!!! I drive a 2018.
I don't know what she is talking about. I think the interior looks great.
I have to agree. It looks great on the inside to me.
Can't believe she said the interior isn't impressive. Guess if they Don't find fault, they have nothing to say.
Clearly a biased review, example: "Skoda Karoq better interior than the Sportage" WTF?!

Skoda Karoq better interior than the Sportage?????? What drugs did she take before doing this review???? WTF.

Such a nice car to drive and has so much tech for the price. feels extremely premium too

@hash king maybe so. I'm just giving some personal experience. Simple. That is all.
You're not being too enthusiastic about this car, are you? To me it is much more flamboyant than the Karoq or Ateca.
