Great to you all on the trails! Looks like the whole family had a blast, and rocking these awesome T-shirts! Looking forward to seeing more of these great locations Randy. Have a great week.
Today I finished the 50 mile trail trekker challenge at Sleeping Bear Dunes for the 50th anniversary. I've lived here all my life and never saw all the trails before. I recommend it! Last year I explored the Porcupine Mountains and also saw the northern lights at Brockway Mountain with my family. From Belle Isle to the Soo Locks to Copper Peak to Mackinaw Island...MI rocks! Thanks for highlighting it in your travels. We enjoy your show.
Wow, Joan, what an incredible adventure! Our time at SBD was too short. Hope to get back and really experience it like you did. Appreciate the suggestions!

It is so hard to say we love Michigan as Ohio State Alum ..GO BUCKS!!!. But Michigan, especially western Michigan, is just absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing, it brought back so many great memories for us!! Michigan was our first "big" trip as a family, we can't want to take our kids back in a few years. Stay safe, have an adventure and make some memories. God Bless!!
So cool, Laura! Hope to get Indiana Dunes up by Sunday night. We also did Sleep Bear Dunes - the Cherry Republic in nearby Glen Arbor was a lot of fun. Also nearby "Triple D's Orchard" was a great (and very inexpensive) place to pick your own cherries. Have fun! Such a beautiful area!
Wow, lots to see in Michigan! Beautiful footage of you and your family, what fun! Thank you for this video. Glad to see many cool places that aren't shut down.
Thanks, Mark! Yes, in these days of uncertainty, you never know what you're going to get. We were grateful that COVID restrictions did not affect any of our plans.
Lake Michigan .... an unsung treasure .... love all the Great Lakes! 💦💙 Loved seeing the sites and your beautiful family. Nicely edited 🎶 Bless you all 🙏🏼 Stay safe and well 😷✌️
Great preview video of what's to come. Lake Michigan is some place I've never explored and I'm really looking forward to these future videos. From what I've seen so far it looks like lots of great scenery and great food which is always a big plus! Stay blessed.
Loved the video but it's the song that has really touched my heart. It definitely sums up how I've been feeling for quite awhile now. So much out there that I want to see and experience.
I grew up in Upper Michigan, left there in 1967, I still have family there, this summers trip was my trip #69 back to my old stomping grounds, lot of nice scenic places around lake Superior, good video you made.
Randy, GREAT FAMILY TRIP! Like Julie says, "What a view!" Love your soundbites about the fast food place (what is a summer vacation without White Castle?) Great video editing, and the song is perfect. Oh, man the pink helmet looks great on you! The family that stays together! THANK YOU for taking us with you to the Lake Michigan lake shore! . . . Mike
Loved the park but man, I would hate to have to drive through the city with all those lanes of traffic, although, that suspension bridge did look pretty cool at the end. Got to say, that was a superb collage of clips from this trip, great editing Randy, cheers Alan
We loved Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. What fun. We were there in 2015 & 2016. My 10 yr old dog got sick and had emergency surgery on that vacation. So we spent almost the whole time at the East Bay Animal hospital in Traverse City. They saved her life. She spent 6 days in the ICU trying to die. My wife was so upset we didn’t want to drive the motorhome 700 miles home without our dog. So we decided to go back the next year for a real trip. Love hiking that area.
Loved this video. Have visited Sleeping Bear Dunes and saw a group of track guys and their coach using the the dune to run up and down for a workout. They did it twice. Looked like too much for me but you and your fit family would have probably loved it. That is beautiful country. Liked the music. Saw you enjoyed a pastie. Thanks for the video.
Thanks so much, Matt! Having grown up in the Midwest (Chicago area), so nice to get back to the "area." Hoping to hit N. Minn. with the family next summer. Had a great time up there in the early 90's at the Boundary Waters.
Hello America's Park's😊! 3 years ago I did a road trip from RI to Michigan and I loved it so much that I will most definitely visit again. I really experienced all that Michigan has to offer visiting places like the Henry Ford Museum and Hitsville USA, Henry Ford Museum was a full day and enjoyed every minute of it as I love classic cars! Then we headed up the Lake Michigan shoreline to several beautiful overlooks and Point Betsie Lighthouse on our way to Sleeping Bear Dunes, so SPECTACULAR standing 450 feet above Lake Michigan! Further up the road in Empire was the Dune Climb and the gorgeous Lake view at the top WOW! We then headed north through Traverse City on our way to Mackinac Island by way of Sheplers Ferry Service at Machinaw City...and we got swarmed by what I thought were mosquitos but was told by the ferry operator that it was "Midges", which don't bite but they were an absolute aggravation. We also got swarmed when we docked at Mackinac Island. What a beautiful place!! No cars allowed on the island and we loved the horse drawn shuttles and my son was smiling from ear to ear lol! Guess what we had for lunch...A Delicious Pastie and Ice Cream! We explored the Grand Hotel, took in a reenactment at Fort Machinac, after a steep uphill walk whew😊, and walked to a beautiful place called Arch Rock. Have you visited Machinac Island? If not you gotta check it out. We ended the day crossing the Mighty Mack and seeing Lake Michigan transitioning to Lake Huron and made it to Sault St Marie. The next day we took a boat tour through the Soo Locks and really enjoyed it, especially my son Alex. We then headed west to Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore and hiked extensively to several waterfalls and Miners Castle. We also did the boat tour as well as it was really cool to be in the largest of the Great Lakes, Lake Superior! From Musining, we headed out to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, North of Duluth, MN and on the SPECTACULAR north shore of Lake Superior. And, made it all the way to Theodore Roosevelt National Park!! Great Video Randy!
I would never have thought that Michigan parks & shoreline could be so beautiful. Thanks! Pastor Randy, on a personal note, my good friend & hiking buddy Don, lost his wife a few days ago. They were married for over 50 years & had a blessed union with 5 children & many grand children. Don is a devout Christian & is doing well surrounded by a loving family. Perhaps I can treat him to another sojourn out west when he feels up to it. His wife Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother & grand parent. I hope you understand my thoughts on this loss as I'm sure you will. Thanks & God Bless.
Very sorry to hear that, Bob. May the Lord comfort your heart, brother and may He provide Don with extraordinary grace to navigate this tough period. I know you will be a good encouragement to him.
How ironic, I just got back yesterday from doing those 3 National Lakeshores. I'm still sore from doing many of those different dune hikes, but most all of them were really fun. I was surprised how beautiful Painted Rocks National Lake Shore was. Wish I had seen you guys, would have been nice to meet you and say thanks for all of your interesting and helpful videos.
Great preview. Can't wait for the actual videos. Might get me interested in visiting a few of these places, because I try to take any chance I get to make a trip out of Illinois somewhere.
This looks like a fun trip. I live close enough to Michigan, I could visit easily. I just returned from a camping trip to Yellowstone, the Tetons, and the Black Hills. I always enjoy going to the visitor centers in National Parks but couldn’t this trip because of the virus but I knew that before we left home. If you ever get up to Mt Rushmore again, Custer State Park has a lot of good hiking trails (go early to avoid the crowds).
Thanks, Mike...and worth visiting MI! Early stages of planning a trip over to Custer next summer. Have driven through, but have never spent much time there. Sounds like you had a great trip! Some of my favorite places.
Great preview! Really looking forward to the full videos. Northern Michigan is a beautiful area and has so much to offer. It has been far too long since I have been up that way. I thought about taking the family up there for a makeshift vacation but saw that the some of main areas were still closed and the ferries weren’t running either. I want my family to get the full experience so I decided against it. Guess we are banking the money for next year’s vacation at this point which is the Florida Keys. So definitely will need it. We do have to head up to northern Ohio I late August so I might try to arrange a side trip to Indiana Dunes. We have only had a brief stop there a few years ago.
Totally agree with your thoughts on the area. Thankfully, our particular plans were unaltered with the uncertainly of covid. The keys are great! Try to hit Dry Tortugas if possible. Not cheap, but a real gem IMHO.
Americas Parks Dry Tortugas is on the docket. Planning to camp for two nights just haven’t been able to get through yet to make the reservation. The trip isn’t until early June so I am not too worried about it yet. I already have booked campsites at John Pennekamp and Bahai Honda State Parks. I had to book them 11.5 months in advance and the second they became available online. They become reserved instantly. It was insane. Getting a campsite anywhere shouldn’t be that stressful.
Hi Randy Looking forward to further videos on this area. Not part of the country we had thought about visiting but it looked great.Liked the music too,who is it by? All the best
My wife and I live in Bay City on the Lake Huron side on Michigan. We were out at Bay City State Park visiting the beach recently and we could have swore that we saw you there. Now we see this video and you were in fact in Michigan. Maybe we saw you in the wild!
Wow! It sure looks awesome there, I mean Ireland is beautiful but I'm really jealous of your Massive parks and proper wildlife. Take care out there. Best wishes from the emerald isle
Hey Randy! I absolutely loved this video! A quick question I had was although it’s not particularly in America, I would love to see you guys experience Banff and Jasper National Park one day, and as a Canadian I would be delighted to see your guy’s reactions to the unique landscape. That is only my request tho haha, god bless you and your family!
Thanks so much, Brian! Yes, would love to visit the incredibly beautiful Parks up in Canada. Thanks for the hospitality and hope to do so in the future! God bless you too!
I appreciate the optimistic attitude and kind words! Can’t wait to see your channel grow and thrive in the future. Keep up the fabulous work and stay safe!
Hey did you stop at Moomers dairy farm in Traverse City for their ice cream. I went to sleeping bear dunes with my family recently and the scenic drive was closed as well. We were close to crossing paths. Glad you were able to visit my homestate!
Didn't know about that one, John! The pizza shot was from Traverse City. You live in a great state. My wife grew up in Muskegon and I cherish every time we visit. Thanks for the comment!
I noticed you preparing to eat a pastie. Aren't they great? Woh! The "whole, bloomin' Brady Bunch" joined you this time, instead of just 1 family member. I may have already told you this, but last summer when I was up hangin' out wit duh Yoopers, I called ahead for a tour reservation at Pictured Rocks, but it was just a few days too late in the season, and the wind was starting its annual blowback of the boats back toward shore, so they'd sent that day's tour back almost as soon as it started, and would probably do so again on my anticipated day, so I never got to do it. Looks like it's quite scenic. This summer, I was in the area of Vail, CO, and got to drive an ATV for the first time. That was SOOO fun, as well as scenic.
Neat stuff, Jim! Love the Brady Bunch line as we have been (shhh!) fans of the show. The pasties were IMHO okay. Loved the kayaking at Pictured Rocks. Hope to get that vid up this Sunday. Sorry it didn't work for you.
Very nice place and happy family.. Lake Michigan looks so beautiful. I wanna go there someday. Full view and Big like 69 I wish you have a happy week...👍👍
Pure Michigan. I grew up near St Joe MI on a 30 acre truck garden farm. The southwest corner of the state is know as the “fruit belt”, growing the widest variety of produce anywhere in the country. Hard work for sure, picking apples, cherries, peaches, blueberries, blackcaps, red raspberries, strawberries and all manner of vegetables. Gave me a hard work ethic that am grateful for and has served me well. Life is much simpler there, we enjoyed the summer at the beach, beautiful west coast sunsets. Ice cream or fudge are also summer traditions. Check out the lighthouses. I was told Michigan has more than Florida.
Visited Indiana Dunes last month and Pictured Rocks a week ago. Been to Sleeping Bear Dunes a couple of times in earlier years. Pictured Rocks was the most spectacular, but jeesh, those biting flies. ;)
@@AmericasParks Yeah, I had that impression before we went, and PR totally confirmed. And then next in line should have been Sleeping Bear Dunes. As for the flies, we had several times that we finally managed to escape them and got back to "just" mosquitoes. It was like the mosquitoes were old friends at that point--"Hey, how you doing? Let me give you a little love bite, nothing major." Those flies, though, they were the Biker Gangs From H**l. Tried drowning them by going underwater at one of the beaches, and found out they can hold their breath longer than I can, lol.
This is gonna be a great series! You didnt reply to my comment on your last Zion clip so I figured you were on the road somewhere. So cool that you and the family were able to get out and see all of what you did. Pictured Rocks is high on my list for a trip someday! Hope all is well with you guys!
Hey Robert, just got back in town. Been a crazy three weeks. Nice to have the whole family, but tough with the long drives, Minivan, Think I am going to get these Lake videos us and then return to the Utah trip with Julie. PR was my favorite of the 3 we visited. Cool area! Have a great week!
The kayaking was at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and the ATV riding was just outside Manistee National Forest. Plan to release individual videos over the next month and I'll reveal more specific information.
Ah, love it 💕 I am a Yooper who married a Minnesotan. This made my heart happy to see all those beautiful Michigan places. I hope someone tried Superman ice cream. And I am happy to see that you all were eating pasties the proper way - with ketchup! Stay safe! Be well.
This video makes Michigan looks like the best vacation spot ever. It really is a great place to visit. So blessed.
Happy to do the beautiful state justice! :)
And I'm blessed to live in this beautiful state. I date tripped up to pictured rocks National Lakeshore just over the weekend. There is something new to see with each visit up there. My latest trip was to Chapel Rock.
Love this video!! AMAZING work!
Thanks, Hailey!
Perfectly edited video. Concise and rich with so many moments. Really really great video.
Thanks much, Steven! Had a nice time with this edit capturing some of our favorite moments!
A family that plays together stays together. An excellent video of Michigans National Parks and your family enjoying them.
Thanks so much!
Loved seeing all the family on this trip. I smiled through the entire video.
Thanks, Lori! Happy to hear that!
Sleeping bear dunes and Pictured rocks are my favorite places in my state !

Hey guys! Good taste! Yeah, that is one of the most iconic spots on the Lake Michigan shoreline!
Fun! Love the one lone tree growing out of that spire thing! And really love that your daughters still want to do this with their parents and little brother 😍
So thankful for that, Heather! And that tree - great observation/taste as it's one of the most famous spots on the Lake Michigan shore. Hope you have a great week!
This preview is like an awesome movie trailer where you get just brief moments of beauty or an intriguing scene and your dying for more

Wow, Joan, what an incredible adventure! Our time at SBD was too short. Hope to get back and really experience it like you did. Appreciate the suggestions!
Awesome! I really mean it! Not just the Great quality of the shots themselves but, the way you blended SO MANY GREAT SHOTS, FAST, and it still felt so smooth and non disruptive and also funny with the scene changes. . . We are so so SO LOOKING forward to seeing Michigan!!! Love your family adventures ♡ that canoe through the rocks and cherries looked amazing!
Pictured Rocks was amazing. A little pricey, but the kayak rides along the bluffs was so worth it!
Right on regarding MI and hope you enjoy the videos!
Proud Michigander here. I was at Pictured rocks for the 4th of July. My favorite place.

Indiana dunes is a personal favorite of mine. The three dune challenge is pretty hard! Glad to see yall made it lol
The 3 Dune challenge is just a great hike for so many reasons. Clearly a fav for the family. Great to hear you've been out there and had a nice time!
Loved the U.P. of MI when we had the chance to visit a few years ago. Pictured Rocks was probably our favorite spot!

Hey Stephen, it's from a subscription plan that allows me unlimited downloads. "Honey Take My Hand," by Cody Francis. Take care!
My wife and I live in Bay City on the Lake Huron side on Michigan. We were out at Bay City State Park visiting the beach recently and we could have swore that we saw you there. Now we see this video and you were in fact in Michigan. Maybe we saw you in the wild!
That would have been great, Curtis! However, it probably was not us as we really hugged the L. Michigan coast.
Wow! It sure looks awesome there, I mean Ireland is beautiful but I'm really jealous of your Massive parks and proper wildlife. Take care out there. Best wishes from the emerald isle
Thanks, Mark! Michigan is really an incredible state. All the best to you!
Great content, u guys rock😍
Thanks so much, Mark! :)
Still waiting for you to do Wisconsin!
Yes! I second this! Door County is gorgeous!
Wish we had more time as we simply needed to pass through the state. Eyeing Apostle Islands next summer!
Americas Parks Look up Devils Lake too. Not a National park but it’s a cant miss.
@@AmericasParks , IMHO? "You gringos sure say a lot of odd stuff!" That's an abbreviation I'm not familiar with.
@@jimgreen5788 lol! (there's another one for you!) - IMHO stands for "In my humble opinion." Use that one often! :)
@@AmericasParks all right, now I'm in the 'in crowd'.
Very nice place and happy family..
Lake Michigan looks so beautiful.
I wanna go there someday.
Full view and Big like 69
I wish you have a happy week...👍👍
Hope you get there in the near future!
That was a beautiful depiction of W. Michigan! Nice memories! Wife was from Muskegon so we too have spent a lot of time in the area. Love it there!
Visited Indiana Dunes last month and Pictured Rocks a week ago. Been to Sleeping Bear Dunes a couple of times in earlier years. Pictured Rocks was the most spectacular, but jeesh, those biting flies. ;)
Totally agree - felt PR was the one that should have ben promoted to NP status. And those flies... nasty on the ankles.
I would love to know where the kayaking and 4 wheeling took place!
The kayaking was at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and the ATV riding was just outside Manistee National Forest. Plan to release individual videos over the next month and I'll reveal more specific information.
Just got back from a week on Lake Michigan. Best sunsets! Also just posted a video of Pictured Rovks on our channel from our trip last month.
Right on with the sunsets! Going to stop by a take a look!
Great 👍
Thank you!
How long did you guys do this trip in? 2 weeks?
July 13-17, 2020. Moved rather quick due to our time availability. A day at each park, 1.5 at P. Rocks.
Ah, love it 💕 I am a Yooper who married a Minnesotan. This made my heart happy to see all those beautiful Michigan places. I hope someone tried Superman ice cream. And I am happy to see that you all were eating pasties the proper way - with ketchup! Stay safe! Be well.
So cool, Renee! We LOVED IT up there! And yes, we were coached in advance on how to eat the pasties!
Hey! my home state!
Sleeping bear dunes are amazing!
Michigan is one of the best!!! So beautiful. Wife grew up in Muskegon so we get to visit often.
Americas Parks I was born and raised in Muskegon!😁😁
@@Allieslaysss That's really neat!
How high are the biggest dunes around the lake?
Believe the biggest is around 300 feet.
Okay, I'm going to Michigan. I don't care if I have to cram it into one weekend lol.
So worth it! Can't beat the Western side of the state!
Anyone know the name of that ice cream spot?
Yeah it was Cherry Republic in Glen Arbor, MI near Sleeping Bear Dunes.
