They don’t make them like this anymore. I remember being mildly terrified as a kid of the roar at the end, but now I know it’s actually Concorde it brings a tear to my eye. People always remember this advert, but I doubt anyone will be reminiscing over a Ryanair advert in 30 years.

Ryanair would now charge the viewer to watch its adverts.

I remember being part of this ad! I lived in San Juan County, Utah at the time and was in the group of middle and high school students that made up the final face that morphed into the world. The final scene was on a plateau of Cayonlands National Park in Utah, or possibly on the edge of the Navajo/Ute reservation. (I don't recall which direction since I lived within an hour of the various beautiful landscapes in the Four Corners area.)

These B.A. ad have always meant a lot to me as a kid (back then and now lol). They were very beautiful and visual and always captured my attention. I think it's awesome you were in this...and I used to wonder...."i wonder who these people are" lol.

I was like a young boy when this advert came out and I was living in Singapore at that time. Yes that concorde sound at the end is just amazing, I have only seen it take off from Paris CDG in the 90s which was amazing to see.

Nostalgia. I remember being 12 years old watching this commercial and loving the music and the commercial. I always rememebered this song as the British Airway song until I got older and found that it was made by Yanni. Always bring back good childhood memory.

The background music for this classic ad is based on the flower duet from Lakhme and adapted by Yanni. Nice.

Tom conti doing the voice over makes it even more brilliant . The ad is touching with people coming together …unlike this stupid no nothing generation claiming inclusivity but using labels to divide people…then bursting into tears because someone misgendered them. Tragic .

I was 12 years old when I saw this and I thought it was a legit music video?! But it kinda is in that regard because I must of seen it while binge watch musical video clips like a MTV equivalent?!! At the time I was quite impressed and taken back by it maybe because I've seen anything like it in my life?! The start of open borders and globalism in its infancy in 1989/90. The innocence behind it all, the nativity of it all and back then it was almost believable for it's time when good intentions were probably true...But that was 30 years ago!!! Now in 2020 how times have changed for the worse as now Britain is going back to Nationalism, protectionism and isolationism as it's escaped the European Union which it helped create, now it wants no part of it. This is what this ad has created now, Covid19 30 years later!! It was a pretty good run that started with good intentions that became more corrupt and sordid as the decades rolled on and British Airways aren't even good anymore?! You can bet from 2021 beyond that you'll never see this kind of concept ad ever again should we get out of this viral pandemic!!! It ends NOW!!!!! I almost believed back then not really and after this in 2020?! Never again!!!!

They have brought it back again cos of covid but a bit premature as most places aren't opened yet for travel but clever advertising for 2021
