We spoke a little on IG. I’ve been following this exactly. Introduced the toe knot last night and this morning on our way to the garage, he picked up the bumper and sat down next to our fresh built table from 4 days ago!
Incompetent bullshit on dogs. Learn basics about dogs that you lack
Thanks for sharing I just got a lab pup for waterfowl and learning as much as I can
This charlatan is incompetent. Learn basics about dogs that you lack
There's benefits yes but also comes the good and bad with this method or wirh the ear pinch or e collar. So pick the easiest way to get the end result. Great content awesome information and techniques..
Lol. Pure abusing bullshit made by an unable charlatan

All your videos are great I am following other programs but usually your videos clarify things for me
Incompetent bullshit on dogs
Thanks for all the training videos! Let me know if you ever make it to Northern Michigan for Grouse or woodcock!
There is a good chance of this happening!
Ditto would love to get together with you guys here in Michigan
It’s interesting in the other videos he is always trying to grab the bumpers from you add the toe hitch and “no no no”. I understand it’s something new and needs conditioning it just goes to show can’t walk and chew gum at the same time lol. By the way thanks for making my husband think I’m a dog whisperer, he is shocked at how far our puppy has come in 2 weeks!
Its incompetent abusive bullshit. This man is a simple animal abuser, he is highly incompetent.

Do you have to use a dummy launcher for bird dog training?
I love seeing the subscriber number going up with every video!! Let’s get ya to 50k!! By the way is the dog in the video one of yours? He is a handsome guy.
Thank you we are hoping to make it there by the end of the year!! #goals
Legend I my boy!! Love this guy to death!
StandingStoneKennels is he a part of your breeding program!?
This is exactly what I needed to watch, I’ve been seeing so many other videos and they just haven’t helped, my lab will learn with this

Honestly you should watch the Trained retrieve videos by Tri Tronics trained retrieve videos done by Jim Dobbs. You are making this far more difficult and by not using the ear pinch for hold you miss out on an opportunity to help the dog understand pressure conditioning. The ear pressure makes it easier for the dog to transition to the toe hitch. You said you didnt like ear pressure because the dog wants turn toward the pressure. But then you apply toe pressure and dont give the dog the ability to move towards it. Dobbs explains this very well.
I’m just curious as to why there is such a difference in the techniques used in teaching AKC obedience and hunting retrievers?
How to set up the toe hitch starts at 4:25
Hi guys, love the remake of your old vids. Did I miss when you Introduce the actual verbal “fetch” command? Edit: also, I know some trainers don’t allow bumper and retrieval training (fun) during force Fetch. What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks! Glad your enjoying them. We start introducing the cue once we are seeing a consistent behavior. And we don’t do any retrieving work at all until the trained retrieve process is over.
Tell me please, why do you teach the delivery in such a high platform? (on the table)
We talk about this in one of the first videos of the series.
look forward to it)) good luck
This dog starts off keen to take the object and at the end of the video is just scared, confused and no longer willing to take it. Well done, psychopath.
You really think the chain is 'distracting' him? How about the pain he is experiencing from you pinching his nozzle and pulling on his nerve rich toes.
Is this something that should be used on every dog or is it mostly a corrective method for dogs that are slacking? Also, could you elaborate on why you do not like to use an e-collar for this?
this is very lazy and outdated archaic "training", 50 years at least, if a "professional" try to pull this and try to convinced that this is an appropriated way of teaching a retrieve, it is an immediate red flag, and i would be looking for a real professional right a way. I've had GSPs for 20yrs. Trained all my dogs to fetch on fingersnap command, and whistle and verbal. They hold an object because I hold it at them.. remember this breed wants to work, otherwise it's forced. This just looks bizarre and TBH cruel.
Sure kid.. sure
@@justagirlandherdogs615 funny guy.

Funny my labs do the same thing. I taught them through playing and after a while they just did it because it what they were bread to do and it was fun for them. Maybe this shortens the teaching cycle so from a business point of view I can see how it would work. I will be honest and say that it did take a lot of playing to get them to the point where they are now. I also understand that not everyone can dedicate the time that it takes to build the trust and bond with a dog. What many people want is a hunting dog to be used like a tool vs a partnership. I hunt to watch my dog perform I can care less if I bring food home.
Every dog requires different types of training. Some dogs will fetch or retrieve. The reason force fetch is used is because some dogs just won’t hold it. When you’re hunting birds, you want that bird retrieved, dog heeled, and then you take the bird. When you run hunt tests, field trials, etc…. You need that dog to do exactly what you brought it there for
Not that you care , but I use one word- Fetch. Fetch means Fetch , hold is excessive.
Thanks for sharing
My 11 month old lab has been a breeze to train in every aspect of gun dog training thus far. However once we got to the "Fetch" part of force fetch conditioning things took a turn for the worst. He freezes and turns his head away most sessions and doesn't act interested at all. The times he does open his mouth and take the object it is VERY slow and dramatized. He doesn't seem to understand the pressure on and off once the object is in his mouth. He comes from a very good breeder with natural instincts. Should I continue with just what is shown in this video until he gets it? Are there other measures I can take? We have been stuck at this point for 2 weeks, 2-3 sessions a day.
Your dog is being dramatic because he's afraid of encountering pain. You need to follow a better trainer that doesn't cause dogs pain in the name of "training." There are better ways to get what you want.
@@amber-leeking1708 i know, i’m surprised people watch this dog in the video whine and bite the chain and think that this guy is an amazing trainer. the dog was even starting to not enjoy grabbing onto the stick thing… :| there are way better methods that teach this, the guy doesn’t even reward the dog with anything, what does “good” even mean to the dog?
@@amber-leeking1708 exactly. This animal abusing bullshit has nothing to do with solid dogtraining
Wtf is this... you´re hurting him. Poor dog
Really fucked up.
That’s bizarre. Thanks but no thanks on these videos. Unsubscribe
Ok no one cares
I feel like your method with the hitch is totally uncomfortable for the dog. You can see it is pulling on it and trying to get it off. I just don't think that is a good way to teach your dog to fetch. They need to enjoy it. This dog doesn't seem to do just that.
Also pushing the dog with every chance you get doesn't help either. Especially when you don't use words or tell it to sit.
I don't care if I'm going to get hate for this comment I just want to get my opinion on this vid.
Go back to being a casual
Agree. It's nasty.
@@bowserbullyyardcanada1626 In the UK we use positive reinforcement and our dogs work just as well - just without the emotional trauma and insecurity that these dogs clearly exhibit in every single video.
Such lazy and ignorant training. Literally no one in the uk uses this method and you can be guaranteed that dogs from this country will wipe the floor with US dogs. Sure put pressure on a dog but there is no need in this situation to hurt the dog, it;'s just plain lazy.
