NTA. She pushed your buttons several times. She should be ashamed and ask your pardon everyday. If she had just apologized dith flowers and chocolate and accepted her fault. I would say to forgive her. But no.
This makes me think of how disconnected people of privilege and/or wealth are to such a degree that in their level of 'boredom' they believe a blatant act of TERRORISM is a joke in their and other's eyes. Worse yet, they refuse accountability and play victim when the consequences of their actions come for them. Like all the things she could've did, she went through efforts to really make this look legit that folks should check on her mental.
I personally would have never apologized for calling her out. If she thought it was "cruel" then I would of followed up with "It's just a prank/joke" why are you getting so upset? The fact that Sophie's apology was also passive aggressive and taking minor jabs proves that she never felt actual regret or remorse. She was more upset that she got punished for doing it.
Yeah no that wasn't an apology. "She would never have done the Prank if she had known it would had had such horrible consequences", she should be saying sorry Because she caused those horrible consequences to you. 15:15
It's the gaslighting in top of it all for me. She shouldn't have done that in the first place, obviously. She should have (very publicly - social media?) explained exactly what she did, why it was wrong and made a very public apology with efforts to make it up to her with OP's input and except all consequences. AND done so before it spread because it was going to spread anyway and ppl would need to know to some degree that something has happened so the two don't mix again. That would have shown remorse and character.
She only apologized for calling SIL fat not about everything else. That s good enough. You dont have to be so cold and revengeful absolutely to everything. Calling doing what s right "doormat" would question your compassion and understanding to others.
She felt bad for insulting her appearance, which was wrong of her, no matter how angry she was. You can acknowledge your mistakes without forgiving the person that hurt you. We all do things we regret when we're extremely angry and upset. The reason why OP felt guilty and unsure about insulting her SiL's appearance was because she felt like it betrayed herself. She knows first hand how much it can hurt to have your appearance insulted, and she did it to someone else in a moment of rage. That's why she feels bad about what she said. It's incredibly immature and close minded to call someone a doormat for wanting to apologize for doing something wrong. In the end, OP put her foot down and didn't forgive her SiL for what she did to OP and cut SiL out of her life, so I'm not sure what you're on about by calling OP a doormat.
That was no damn prank, Sophie flat out took trauma and used it against OP. And even if she didn't know it was so traumatic she should never and i mean NEVER have pulled that shit. And ON ROP OF THAT, this woman has the audacity to call the others negative and still think their in the wrong. Gtfo💀
This is the type of prank that wouldn't be funny even if someone had never dealt with a stalker. Doing it to someone who has is just evil. Also, choices that require this much work and planning are not "small mistakes". She got a different number, went to her house, took a picture there, went home, crafted the messages, sent them to herself, screenshot the messages, and sent them with additional commentary. That's a lot of work! A small mistake is spilling coffee on someone's carpet, not actively working to traumatize them. Then, she proceeded to harass OP endlessly. OP didn't overreact. The idea of "being a bigger person" goes out the window when it doesn't work. If someone will not stop, sometimes you have to stoop to their level and make them stop. Also, the woman is THIRTY. This isn't even a case of "teenager being insensitive not thinking about consequences". I am also thirty and I cannot IMAGINE doing something so cruel. How is that funny? How does that benefit her? It costs $0 and takes zero effort to not harass and traumatize people. Edit: it's completely fair for OP wanting to apologize for the weight comment. I think she was completely fair to make it, but I also get why she felt bad about it.
I'm sorry. I know most of these stories are probably fake, and it is generally more fun to pretend they're real; however, I really hate it when the story makes no sense. If this all happened when they were at an airport getting ready to start going through that whole ordeal, it wouldn't have happened like this. Either they would have missed their flight because OP wasn't there, or they would have gone without her in which case the police wouldn't have been dragging the SIL in a few hours later. The more I think about it, the less sense it makes.
There is no such thing as a Harmless Prank. The Victim is the one who gets harmed. Kids pull Pranks, Sophie is a grown ass women. Pranks are not funny, and anyone who thinks otherwise. Let me ask you this question. What is it like being a Loner?
Op is a good person. I'm fat so I didn't like the attack on weight but understood they were angry. I don't care if I'm called fat. It's other things like comparing me to animals that I'm not okay with. I don't tell skinny people they look like stick bugs or ferrets. It's equally insulting
OP, husband and Nadia seem a bit cliquey. Whatever is going on, it feels like we're missing some context. I kinda wanna hear the other side on this one.
Your weight is your control you decide if you make yourself fat or skinny I choose to malnourish myself and I’m skinny because of it so you can control your weight

Bro what city does OP live in because when I got stalked for 2 years the police kept saying that they couldn't track anything 😂
I really hope that OP didn't apologize for a pig comment as a whole just for 'outside part'
I love these there juicy drama! 🍵
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
bro is parkouring the wrong way. Does anyone else get triggered by that?
You see, this is why you send memes. Memes are safer.
As someone named Sophie (nickname, technically I’m Sophia), I feel very embarrassed listening to this.
Sophie was jealous of the trip and wanted to ruin it
The trip was planned by her
Nope. Sophie doesn’t have a point. You should’ve said the same thing back to her, because she went out of her way to make you feel horrible.
A prank is when everyone laughs . What she did to you was not a prank.
the fact that sophie said that she did a harmless prank made me fumming
if i was you,i wouldnt apologized
Yeah no that wasn't an apology. "She would never have done the Prank if she had known it would had had such horrible consequences", she should be saying sorry Because she caused those horrible consequences to you. 15:15
Nadia should have sent Sophie a "Nobody likes you, Sophie, and nobody here cares that you're not here. Go crawl back into your hole" response.
yeah I would have apologised for the Pig comment myself
So OP was a doormat in the end, of course. 🙄
Why would you even consider apologizing to that narcissist? She’s not worth it.
Ah yes, Sophie is making herself the victim. Textbook narcissistic behavior.
Weight is in our control. No sympathy
Remidens me of a girl named Sophie who was studied to my son
Nope, Sophie is too old to be acting like this.
I was about to say maybe you should give a small apology to her for the pig thing, then I realized I would've said something far worse so never mind
Yeah. Trigger someones PTSD for a prank
haha interesting story
After all it's soap opera sophie😅😅
Shouldnt that actually be a crime though
Yes. Yes OP is an AH. But SIL is worse. But OP is still an AH. Calling someone a “pig” is LITERALLY never ok.
13:16 no she annoyed 😒
Uh, no, past experience or not. That was NOT just a prank
Sophie, play stupid games win stupid prizes.
Op is a good person. I'm fat so I didn't like the attack on weight but understood they were angry. I don't care if I'm called fat. It's other things like comparing me to animals that I'm not okay with. I don't tell skinny people they look like stick bugs or ferrets. It's equally insulting
I dont understand how people can be this self-centered. Is Sophie aware other people have emotions or is she immature and emotionally stunted?
OP, husband and Nadia seem a bit cliquey. Whatever is going on, it feels like we're missing some context. I kinda wanna hear the other side on this one.
Your weight is your control you decide if you make yourself fat or skinny I choose to malnourish myself and I’m skinny because of it so you can control your weight
