Exactly. If you give a gift and have expectations or demands about the use or overall of the gift, you didn't give a gift, you gave an obligation. And it is a self serving one. Harsh reality more need to realize. Gifts are gifts.
I made my dress. The only request my Mom had was to consider my Dad. He had trouble walking; every step was painful. Mom asked that my dress not to obstruct or trip him. Even though I wanted a princess style with a train, I realized my "dream dress" had too great a price. Walking with my Dad was far more important.
I can't believe some of these mothers!! It would never have entered my mom's mind to try and dictate what wedding dress I wore...never in a million years. RIP, Mom...you and Dad gave me everything I needed ❤
The first mother said it all: "My wedding. She's the bride". Talk about bridezilla brides. Some mothers can be worse. Mine was so I know from whence I speak 😕
She even said: "She's JUST the bride." Very dislikeable character that woman has. Purely narcissistic. It HAS to revolve around her. Loathe people like that.
That mother though! "You're just here to pay." He comes across as the credit card of the family, and that's where she likes to keep him. She doesn't even let her daughter explain fully the kind of dress she wants and has to come in between, so they have to hush her. That first dress was so beautiful and obviously a wedding dress, but mom made it 'appear' like it was not. Just because she wanted the puffy dress. Had something to say about the back as well. That woman needs to be ten times as critical of herself, as she comes across as an overgrown spoiled brat. Then ten times less critical for others.
They give the budget so that they only give choices within the budget They shouldn’t have to worry if the dress is in the budget they asked them to stay in
When the entourage dun like the dress and said the dress make the bride look old, then the one they love and choose actually make the bride look even older then the one they hate….😅
No, David. Not all brides need mom's approval. My mom was narcissistic, passive-aggressive, sociopathic, and probably bipolar (and yes, I know the definitions of these disorders). I loved her but she loved drama. Why would I want that?
The mom only needs to nod , smile and cry on que.. When my daughter was shopping for her dress , if she'd put on a hanky, with a rose in her teeth, I would tell her I loved it , if she did
I can understand the bride wanting to also please her mum, the biggest bit of advice i would give them is dont let your mum dictate the whole dress, i did and hated my dress from start to finish (literally took the dress off the second i could and put on a outfit for the afternoon, wouldnt mind it cost over 2 grand but my mum loved it so i wore it)
"You're only here to pay," when her husband doesn't agree. She's trying to make a nice obedient puppy out of him. I would hate it, to be so disrespected by my other half. Glad the dress she got in the end ticked everyone's boxes.
I would leave the LOT of them at home and just take Dad if he is still alive. I hate these self inflated mothers. Grrrrr Both my daughters picked their own dresses. I lived in Dublin so I was too far away from them in England. Then again ........ THEIR day not mine so it is their choice. I agree the assistants in the shop are making money but they have experience and should be the ones to advise the brides.
This version of the show has the most boring dresses and clueless consultants who often pick very unflattering silhouettes. Very few of the dresses are interesting, original or flattering. It’s a shame!
All bridal shops across the planet should have one strict rule: the Bride and only 4 guests! Mom, sis, friend, bridesmaid - whoever, but only 4 and no more! And NO in-laws or men! 🙀
Unless the bride is making a horrendous mistake, mothers should never veto the brides choices, no matter who is paying for the dress.
Exactly. If you give a gift and have expectations or demands about the use or overall of the gift, you didn't give a gift, you gave an obligation. And it is a self serving one. Harsh reality more need to realize. Gifts are gifts.
Beautifully put 💯
I totally agree with you! Unless it's a very bad choice, go along with it to see your daughter happy. The day is not about the parents.

Your comment has me tearing up! My mom was the same way when I was shopping for wedding dresses, and she got me two beautiful gowns ❤
The consultant, Chloe, is so genuinely happy to help the bride. She’s lovely!
MOMS: YOU ARE NOT THE ONE WEARING THE DRESS! IT'S NOT YOUR WEDDING!!!!!
This is not mother's day, she is not wearing the dress!! This is about control . Mom is having a hard time letting go!!
Though mothers mean well, they can be very destructive to their daughters.

I've been married twice. I chose both my dresses alone. It never occured to me to take anyone with me.
me too 😃
first dress was traditional white 2nd was royal blue, worked out great 😀
I'm getting married in a month and I went to get them alone too haha
Back in my day no one saw the dress it was always a surprise when the bride walked down the isle..
*aisle
I would NEVER let someone influence my decision .... grow a pair.
you sound like you have my outlook on life lol
You sound a bit immature, actually
Why do consultants insist on going over budget!
Especially at this shop
That last dress was absolutely stunning!!!👌🏼💞
My mom told me if I ever get married I must choose a dress that I love and as long as I'm happy she's happy
I had my wedding dress made and no-one saw it or had any input in it at all.
The last family were really fun, sweet and obviously loved each other.

The last bride looks stunning in her choice if dress. Lovely family too. Back in the Nineties I wore a Ronald Joyce dress at my wedding! 🩷
That mother is not lovely.
Don’t know why they go over budget right from the start. And it’s not the bride who’s choosing them.
Agreed. They ask the question, they should honour the answer
I must be odd. I went to the bridal shop alone. The 1st dress I tried on was it. I loved it and never wavered.
They give the budget so that they only give choices within the budget They shouldn’t have to worry if the dress is in the budget they asked them to stay in
It’s the brides wedding NOT the moms
The poor bride holly . Her mother is a nightmare witch
Her mom’s face after he talks is hilarious! 43:27
Some of those mothers are why therapists are so busy.
Hey mum! It’s Hollys wedding not YOURS!!!
Do these mothets honestly love and care about the daughters. They are so jealous as to leave out actually loving their daughter for who she is.
My mother would never. She would say its your wedding you have to wear the dress if you dont like it dont buy it. Dont settle.
When the entourage dun like the dress and said the dress make the bride look old, then the one they love and choose actually make the bride look even older then the one they hate….😅

She looked gorgeous in that last, pink dress.
That was so perfect.
That last dress is just gorgeous......
Now do 6 times that David Emmanuel nearly ruined a bride's appointment.
If I were an “older” bride, I would want a beautiful white silk suit with floor length skirt.
the excitement i got from seeing a Zimbabwean here😅😅
The first mom , all about her…..😢
Bless the last bride, she thinks her fiance looks like Thor!!! he really doesn't but as they say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!!!
The last dress was stunning.
I hate that the women have made a booking and fancy pant comes out saying 'who's my bride?'
The mom only needs to nod , smile and cry on que..

U might think mother is getting married. Should have left her home.8/23
Mom needs to button it up, so rude. I could never, ever do that to my daughter.

Mum is jealous....simple
Nice❤❤❤❤❤
Is Mumzie buying the first dress?😊
My mom would just be happy if I was happy with the dress. These entourages are horrible
That bride diffently took the wrong friends for the selection of her dress.. 🥺
Momma had her wedding.... She isn't wearing any of these dresses.
Why are they bringing out dresses that are over their budgets they’re just setting the bride up for disappointment

Nan has a scary face.
Why does Nan having a helmet haircut 😅
Did Nan have a face-lift?
Was Celine 14 when she had her large daughter? Her daughter looked same age as her
Mean Mamas are such a bore!
Mum is..a BULLY
The first dress was too matronly.
Its NOT YOUR WEDDING!! YOUR TASTE IS IRRELEVANT!
I feel like his name is David..and he uses his middle name to stand out..I dk what it is about him I do not like.

The price tags tangling on the dress is a bit crass ...
Shame on the staff for bringing out an OVERbudget dress, cheap shot for sure
