The generous offer to pay for a bride's gown should NOT come with a disclaimer that states, "Only if I like it." My mother-in-law once offered to buy me some clothes but when she said that if she was paying I'd have to take what SHE wanted, I put everything back and thank her for the offer but not thanks. She immediately relented and told me to get what I wanted.

From the weddings I've been to, I remember the food more. You know, nice sit down meal, good buffet with a great mix of food. I remember the church or registry office where the ceremony was held. I remember the people who were there. The friends or family I talked to. I don't remember much about the bloody dresses! Unless they were really unusual. The dresses I remember were mine (I made it), the navy one, and the pink one. Saying that, the pink one was last month, so that's a given.
One of my older cousins had a big fancy wedding with a fancy dress. My aunt set aside for my cousin wedding for years. The reason when she got married in her parents home in a simple white dress with a meal and cake prepared by her mother. She wanted more for her daughter.
@@tamarajohnson5771 My mother whose father was a minister, had a church wedding with a simple reception in the fellowship hall; her mother made her dress (she was a seamstress) . When I married, she wanted the same thing for me and more with all the attendant invitations, gifts, dress, bridesmaids and dresses, bridal party, cake, flowers, thank you notes, etc. I made my own dress and the maids made theirs. It was way, way stressful for everyone. I would have preferred your aunt's experience. An acquaintance of mine a few years later invited me to her "wedding" at her parent's home with only 10 guests; I just loved it.
Wow! I think that this is the first episode of SYTTD where a mother has willingly more than doubled the bride’s budget! She looked stunning and I wish her fiancé and her all the best. 💗
well i hate to break it to you but she didn’t end up wearing this dress. i heard she wore a fishtail like she wanted and it wasn’t her mother who paid for it.
In 20 years, they're going to look back at this dress like we look at 1980s poof fest dresses, with scorn. This lingerie as wedding dresses phase needs to die.
I loved the 2nd dress it was beautiful I liked the first one too, the top of both were nice. The 2nd dress looked great on her, so did the first the mermaid shape is great on her.
I bet u anything they put her on a payment plan and she hasn't paid it in full yet ... U could tell she had no confidence in the herself after randy gave her a taste of reality. She was just too prideful to show it on camera.
They could have easily looked for a less expensive dress that had some of the elements they liked. Making this expensive dress the choice point and not encouraging continuing to look was poor judgement from a customer service perspective.
Am I the only one that didn't like that dress? In the end, the bride didn't wear it which is an affirmation it was not a good choice. The second dress was the best and suited her better. The last dress looks like the bride is wearing a skirt and bra. So no.
I guessed instantly that the ballgown was P'nina Tornai. I know you're all shocked. Also: I think you really have to be there to see, in person, the quality of each dress. Maybe the Tornai gown would wow me if I saw it in person, and the other dresses would not look as good quality. Whatever, Quasia has a cute figure and looked great in everything.
when they let the entourage pull dresses you know they're going to come with a bunch of overpriced pnina dresses because pnina is ALL they have on display out there. all the lower-budget gowns are in the store room in the back. if they had just let the consultant do her job they could have told her "find a ballgown with lace & bling for under $3500" and she could've done it. randy himself has designed a dress extremely similar that's well under budget.
It was obviously Pnina Tornai when I saw it so I was not shocked to recognize the signature style of Tornai which I actually don't like at all. I prefer a more classic look.
@@whatevergoesforme5129 The popularity of Tornai's "looks like a corset" top is a mystery to me. Some of Pnina's gowns, like this one, show more skin than a lot of actual corsets do!
Randy: "We started out at 3,000 snd ended up at 8 thousand. We're all paying for it right?" Me: "Valid question indeed Randy. Good thinking." Mom: "She's paying for it." Me: *channeling my inner black woman* "OH HELL NO!" UH UH!" i was about ready to come through the computer and start a wedding store brawl! They should've kicked the mama out of the store right then and there! And btw narrator that is NOT a wedding dress! That's more like a fancy negligee!
Y’all have to look at it this way. This show has been known to be staged at times and I wouldn’t be surprised if the family/mother was coached before the cameras turned on. Even when the bride mentioned her budget, she stated that she had the means to pay more than $3,500. That could mean either she had $100 more to spend or $7k. None of the consultants asked (on camera) how much wiggle room there was, but I know the mom wouldn’t ask her daughter to try on a dress that she knew she wouldn’t be able to afford.
8300. Not including tax. Not including alterations. Which 12 years ago was 500 Veils are very high too. We saw them at 2000 Crowns cost hundreds. People need to understand what they really afford.
These bridal consultant's always pick out the perfect tiara and veil. It always looks so beautiful I wish sometime they would talk about how they do it..
I literally hate the dress. Not because it's ugly or that it doesn't look good on her, but because the entourage was tearing her down and made her question herself.
And this is why I’m making everyone who comes to mine agree that if they pick a dress over my budget and I love it they have to pay the difference….. and have it in writing so I have proof they agreed 😂
I keep saying, Mom’s who say they are paying for their daughter’s dresses only if they like the dress is wrong. It’s not your wedding Mom. I have 2 daughters, I paid for both of their dresses, but they chose their dresses.
I like the dress, but I wish it had some sort of panel to make it not look so trashy. Maybe a panel with slightly different color than the outside fabric. But I like the silhouette better than the mermaid. I personally hate mermaids with the straight seam across the bottom.
I am still reeling at the bride's name, not to mention the price of that dress or the attitude of the mom. I am not one to be manipulated, so I will pay for things myself. Thank you very much.
@@angelbulldog4934 I’m surprised Randy has his blue dress (everyone knows which one I’m talking about) that, without the lining, looks like two big blue boobs.
I don't understand why the mother had the idea that just because she is paying for the dress that she gets to choose it. The Penina is a beautiful dress but I feel like she was manipulated into it by all the harsh comments she got while in the mermaid style.
I agree. I love corset dresses so the last dress looks stunning to me, but it makes me sad that they were bashing the mermaid dresses she looked so confident in. I do think it's reasonable to encourage her to try other styles because you never know, but they gotta acknowledge that even when they say "it's not you", it's still based on their opinions. Edit to add: also this is why I wanna work hard to buy things for myself. I don't wanna be taunted with the "I'm paying so I'll only get it if I like it, your opinions don't matter."
That dress is nót worth $ 8400. Why is every expensive dress they have looking so cheap? Or is this one of Pnina’s dresses, because they usually look gaudy.
The way the consultant ALWAYS ignores if the mum or the family or even the person along with the bride who's paying for the dress specifies a certain thing they'd rather wasn't in the dress and then ONLY shows dresses of that type...makes me feel someone should play reverse psychology with these wedding shops. Specify all the stuff u want only pretend u don't want it and then voila! you'll get the exact dress u want 😂😂
Moms acting surprised when the cousin says it’s her daughter’s wedding. Woman, you had your time. It’s your daughter’s wedding. You agreed to pay you should respect her choices. I don’t think she loves this gown. She looks like a cupcake. And mom got cold feet. Ridiculous 🤦🏻♀️ I’m so grateful for my mom.

People that offer to pay for the dress and then proceed to major manipulation is really pitiful.
Nightmare. This is an example of when things go off the rails and then down the cliff.
Every Dress Looked Beautiful On Her...Congratulations On Your Wedding WyQuasia...Many Blessings To You
In 20 years, they're going to look back at this dress like we look at 1980s poof fest dresses, with scorn. This lingerie as wedding dresses phase needs to die.
Pls let's ask pnina to stop designing dresses like that.. 😂😂 i hv never liked her designs..
What a beautiful bride. I wish her all the best. Plus, she knew Mom would up the budget if Mom liked it too. She said so in the beginning.
They need to look at the prices before you get the dress😂😂😂
Yep, it is plain common sense. If you have a specific budget, look at the price first and find gowns in that price range and select from them.
The bride ended up with a different dress at her actual wedding so I'm sure the mother backed out of paying when it came right down to it.
@@hotrod66ify omg really??
@@JodiLeaSnakeQueen She ended up wearing a mermaid gown like she initially wanted after all 😂
Ridiculous to spend $10k (with tax and headpiece) for a dress that is worn for a few hours.
She ended up not wearing that dress…
Are you serious?
@@jadetaylor2443yes she got a dress that similar to dress #2
She looks absolutely Stunning 😍
When I saw her in that headpiece I wanted to cry, so beautiful!
ALWAYS pay for your own stuff to avoid controlling people like the mom
I would never do this to my daughter. It’s HER day. Not mine.
5:15 “I knew I had expensive taste but I didn’t know it was THAT expensive” 😂😂
In the American South where I live, we would call her a dime store millionaire.
she would’ve looked beautiful with a mermaid style dress , crazy how the most expensive dresses be the worst ones
They're not opiniated they're just plain rude!!
The bride is gorgeous. She looked amazing in every dress she tried on.
The bride looked gorgeous. I’m glad her mom honored what she said and paid for the dress.
They have to be prepared! I just googled pricing and SYTTD and found out a lot of interesting tidbits. What I thought was fake is most definitely NOT.
i can't imagine going to a place like kleinfeld's and not checking their website beforehand to narrow down what i'm actually willing to try on or buy.
Not the entourage fighting over who said "put on a ball gown"
Lol
The family isn't taking into account how the bride-to-be feels 😖
They could have easily looked for a less expensive dress that had some of the elements they liked. Making this expensive dress the choice point and not encouraging continuing to look was poor judgement from a customer service perspective.
Am I the only one that didn't like that dress? In the end, the bride didn't wear it which is an affirmation it was not a good choice. The second dress was the best and suited her better. The last dress looks like the bride is wearing a skirt and bra. So no.
You are not the only one. The bride? GORGEOUS. The dress? HIDEOUS.
O my, Mom is going to be paying for that dress for a long, long time..
I’m shocked they chose that dress!😩
Agree
She didn’t end up wearing that dress on her wedding day, chose a fishtail instead. Probably cause the mom refused to pay for the dress.
@@darshkaur5684 yeah I saw, honestly the fishtail looked better anyways
I don’t think she actually liked the Tornai gown.
@@darshkaur5684how do you know?
Lyquiasha rocked them dresses looking like Keisha Knight Pullium!!!!
Some of Pnina's gowns, like this one, show more skin than a lot of actual corsets do!
because it was really tacky?
@@whatevergoesforme5129 it is the see through with boning corset that is PT. Personally I don’t care for PT gowns, and I didn’t like this one
I hate mom's that throw the "IM PAYING, SO U GET WHAT I LIKE!!" Shame on that emotional blackmail!!
She didn't wear this dress. Saw her Instagram. She wore a tight mermaid style.
The mom sounds selfish. How can you say that " if I don't like the dress, I'm not paying for it"?. Like it's your daughter's wedding day. Not yours
They made it all about themselves instead of the actual bride.
Randy: "We started out at 3,000 snd ended up at 8 thousand. We're all paying for it right?"
Me: "Valid question indeed Randy. Good thinking."
Mom: "She's paying for it."
Me: *channeling my inner black woman* "OH HELL NO!" UH UH!"
i was about ready to come through the computer and start a wedding store brawl! They should've kicked the mama out of the store right then and there!
And btw narrator that is NOT a wedding dress! That's more like a fancy negligee!
but you're not a black woman tf are you saying rn. Delete that nonsense
I love the way the bride loves her body. Bravo to that!!
It makes no sense that in a store with over 30k dresses, every bride who tries on 2 dresses feels they can't find anything they like.
always should check piece tags 1st before bringing any dress in
8300. Not including tax. Not including alterations. Which 12 years ago was 500
Veils are very high too. We saw them at 2000
Crowns cost hundreds.
People need to understand what they really afford.
She does look stunning in the dress. I hope mom's doing okay with the financial decision!
The first dress looked best on her.
These bridal consultant's always pick out the perfect tiara and veil. It always looks so beautiful I wish sometime they would talk about how they do it..
she knew exactly what she wanted, and walked out with what everyone else wanted
I literally hate the dress. Not because it's ugly or that it doesn't look good on her, but because the entourage was tearing her down and made her question herself.
That mother is a nightmare.
The consultant IS sooooo adorable
And this is why I’m making everyone who comes to mine agree that if they pick a dress over my budget and I love it they have to pay the difference….. and have it in writing so I have proof they agreed 😂
Yet another episode of "It's not your f***ing wedding!"
It's rare that a bride on this show gets married in the dress she said yes to. I'd be amazed if got married in a ball gown.
How do you know that?
She didnt got married in this dress either. She got a beautiful mermaid dress and got married in it.
I keep saying, Mom’s who say they are paying for their daughter’s dresses only if they like the dress is wrong. It’s not your wedding Mom. I have 2 daughters, I paid for both of their dresses, but they chose their dresses.
this dress is absolutely stunning !!!
I like the dress, but I wish it had some sort of panel to make it not look so trashy. Maybe a panel with slightly different color than the outside fabric.
But I like the silhouette better than the mermaid. I personally hate mermaids with the straight seam across the bottom.
I don't like the dress at all, it's too much of everything, typical pnina dress
$LUT $UIT
I hate mermaids
Full on manipulation.... Shame on them. This is HER day... Man i would have put my clothes on and left them sitting there. Nasty people...
Bride is so gorgeous...what a color...she is glowing
I am still reeling at the bride's name, not to mention the price of that dress or the attitude of the mom. I am not one to be manipulated, so I will pay for things myself. Thank you very much.
While reeling google it then reel
I don’t get it (no, not the $$$$$). What is with the underwear look?
That's Pnina. Slutty from go.
@@angelbulldog4934 I’m surprised Randy has his blue dress (everyone knows which one I’m talking about) that, without the lining, looks like two big blue boobs.
@@HeronCoyote1234 Other than that, it was a beautiful dress. The color was stunning!
@@angelbulldog4934 I agree.
And now....She's the Entire World's little Princess 💞 ♥️
Didn't like the mother's attitude, Didn't like the $8,300 dress
Why isn't it just about the bride? It's her day.
Ridiculous 🤦🏻♀️
I’m so grateful for my mom.
Her cousin eyebrows was killing me 😂😂
