This video was a life saver for me. I had a printer that was not in use for 3 years. When I tried printing, the paper wouldn't pull. I was going to call HP support (and incur good costs) when I saw your video. You explained it so well, and the solution worked. Thank you!!!
I was an hour into OTHER videos before I found yours. YOURS worked perfectly.!!! Saved me a 100 bucks on a new printers and a 1/2 days shopping time. THANK YOI!
I bought this printer from a gal in the summer and just got around to seeing if it worked properly. I did exactly what you said about the alcohol pad etc and it worked. Thank you so much for your video!!
Thank you! Problem solved - turned out there was a piece of seashell lodged in the rollers (blimmin' kids!), only visible when I opened the back panel, which I would never have known or found without this video.
Was about to junk my hp photosmart 2575 xi after it had been sitting for prob 17 years, this seems to have fixed the feed issue. Thanks for the tips and video.
You are the bomb thank you so much ! My husband said its broke unable to fix, that's when I said oh really Hence led me to your video, after two days of videos! I can put wait for m husband to wake up to tell him!! I may not wait ..
Paper starts to feed, then jams up and just wrinkles paper. I have tried to fix problem but no luck. I believe it is a printer problem and I need to return the printer to HP as I have had the printer less than a month. How do I contact HP Support and return printer to be fixed or replaced?
Yeap that was the issue, the telltale rollermark in the top right and everything. Was about ready to have a conniption over the damn thing not accepting new paper. Thanks
Thank you! My printer is now picking up paper! I would also suggest, especially if using a Paper towel to replace it after each run. During the second run it tore and I had to take the paper towel out of my printer with tweezers 😬
I'm glad it worked for you and thank you for the suggestion. Cleaning a roller does not need to be often too, maybe every 500 pages or whenever it stops picking up again. Have a great day!!!
Hi. Yes, if you are talking about HP Smart Tank models, it has a similar build on the paper tray. Just as long as you can get to pick up roller and clean it, you should be able to get the printer to pick up paper again.
nIce vid! I clean mine but there was some weird green gobbleedygook on the back of one the white plastic gliders closest to the cleaned roller, you can kinda see it on your video too, peeking on the back of the white glider. I dont know what the green stuff was but when I cleaned it off with a paper towel and alcohol, "it was kinda thick and sticky" totally solved my problem and thankfully didn't have to buy a new printer! Times are getting tougher so thank you for your video and saving me money!
This did not work for me buy I want to commend you on what a brilliantsolution you came up with the clean these rollers. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps multiple times by now so I guess it is time to take my 7510 to the dump and buy a cannon instead of continuing to reward HP with what now has been 4 or 5 printers that all eventually failed. The last good printer HP make was the Deskjet 500 (if anyone remembers that)
Hey, the entry rollors on the right it is blocked upwards, when I start printing they still at the same spot, I did some search online and heard about the 15T gear maybe it's cracked and blocking the feeding system, any help would be great thanks
If the rollers are not spinning, that usually means the roller gear is bad. I'm sorry to say this, but replacement of the roller will require the whole printer to be taken apart to get to it. Also, finding the partvis actually a challenge of its own.
My scanner model is: Avision AD240 After 3 years of use, its rolls are bald Which one is more suitable for cleaning and revitalizing the rolls?: 1: Soap and water 2: Distilled water 3: Regular alcohol 4: Isopropyl alcohol
Is it not just better and easier to clean the roller from the back of the printer with a cotton bud with window cleaner on the bud, just in case it does pickup the alcohol swab with the staple in it from the front and doing damage to the printer? 🤔
My roller spins when there is no paper, but when there is paper, it doesnt spin. Almost looks like it doesnt spin strong enough. Is there hope for my printer?
Heard of the theory, but was not able to see the proof of that over the many years I've been working with printers. I do recommend wiping the roller with water after cleaning with alcohol or cleaning solutions. The rubber will dry maybe in 20 years anyway, alcohol or not, especially of the printer is in a very dry or hot environment. Usually rubber rollers harden and dry on laser printers due to heat of the printer fusers. On inkjet printers not as fast.
I bought this printer ruclips.net/user/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 to replace an aging HP printer. It is just used for casual home printing so I don't need anything more. Installation went easily though the HP Smart Printing doesn't work well with our laptops - having to select the actual device. Will have to see how the HP Instant Ink program works out. Plus haven't been able to set up printing from smartphone yet - either direct or WiFi

Won't the alcohol dry out the rubber roller and make it crack over time?
