During our 'Maccabi Shabbat' services at Temple Israel (West Bloomfield, Mich.), Rabbi Marla Hornsten reflects on the 10 lessons that can be learned from the Paris Olympic Games, JCC Maccabi Games and the URJ's 6 Points Sports Camp.
In sharing 10 lessons, Hornsten shares that it is not just the competition, but the Games create meaning, connection and purpose and identity on a global scale which in a perfect scenario creates the opportunity for understanding, goodwill and even peace.
