- A member of the Palestine Solidarity Committee at the University of Texas at Austin spoke on April 24, 2024, about her organization's demands.
At least three people were arrested at the pro-Palestine protest.
So far this week, pro-Palestine protests have swept U.S. college campuses, following mass arrests at Columbia University in New York. Dozens of protesters were also arrested at New York University and Yale University in Connecticut. The movement has also hit the west coast, at Cal Poly Humboldt in California.

The federal government invests 10s of billions of dollars into these same companies you say the university is investing in. Even if they stopped investing, it would make no difference to the manufacturing and exportation of weapons to Israel or Ukraine. It would only affect the university and its engineering students who are interested in the complex engineering that is behind the making of these technologies. You would only hope your university is involved because that way, it ensures these missiles being built are being manufactured by top-notch engineers so that when they are launched, they don't go the wrong direction and harm more innocent people.

What makes institutions stronger is funding and support from these companies who can easily move their fund to other institutions who are willing to do more research on their behalf.
