Thank you for giving Singapore a shoutout! Most tourists just treat Singapore as a gateway to Southeast Asia and merely layover at our Changi Airport without bothering to realise the attractions there are to offer. This video would be of a great help, enjoy!
No worires, I love this place, many more videos to come!
Sg is famous for its public housing built by Housing Development Board (HDB) and houses more than 80% of its citizens. It’s very different from other countries’ subsidized public housing. It’s very well planned, designed and built. Each estate is a eco system with surrounding facilities from markets, hawker centres, shopping malls, schools, parks, playgrounds, exercise areas, sports complex, makes it a unique feature of Sg master planning for the city. It is recommended that Visitors explore our public housing estates to see how the locals live.
Great thank you for sharing, ill need to check it out!
Just behind your hotel there's boon keng neighbourhood centre/boon keng mall. That's an older estate and you need to walk through some newer estates to get there so you can see the whole array of developments
The coconut look alike tree’s common name is “Canon Ball Tree” It’s botanical name is “Couroupita is a deciduous tree in the flowering plant family Lecythidaceae. It is native to the tropical forests of Central and South America. The flowers are fragrant.
haha awesome, cheers for sharing that!
So finally, touch down in sunny Singapore .....Just explore....Places are easily accessible, transportation is affordable... Chinatown, Little India, Botanic Gardens, Arab Street ..etc.. The list goes on and on...Hope you enjoy your time here... Cheers mate!
Amaiznggg I will check these places out!
Jack, welcome to the tiny country of Singapore. You are doing great with your camera. The pace is just right.10 days can produce at least 5 great videos.Looking forward to the next. You will definitely see a surge in your viewership and subscription.Singapore is an English speaking country. Enjoy your trip here, cheers!
Thank you yeah I hope I can show as much as Singapore as possible!
It's a absolute joy to tour! Up there With New Zealand from an Australian perspective!
And even though when your there seems HUGE!
I think 4 or 5 Singapore's can fit into Tasmania! (Yet another great location to visit!)
Was just in Singapore from July 30th to August 6th, the most amazing city in the world I have visited!
It truely is awesome 😎
Jack your videos always brighten up my day.. you always highlight and give unique perspectives wherever your are, all while staying positive.. thank you for all you do
Thank you mate! This made me Smile ✌🏽❤️
Excellent video mate, it almost felt like I was there with you! 🙂
Thank you mate! Hahahaa
Jack your so right Singapore is such an amazing city .clean polite friendly the best shopping beautiful gardens great food. The list is endless . But it's not cheap. But still worth a visit. Keep up the great video Jack and stay safe.
Thank you mate! I am glad you liked the video! Yes not cheap 😅. Keep it real ✌🏽
Yup u are right that it’s not cheap. But there are cheap places too =)
Agree with you. But regarding the part about how "it is not cheap". I take it as a case of paying for what you get. If you pay a higher price for a 5-star hotel, you expect to have better service and facilities than a cheap motel. In the same way, you get a lot of "good service and facilities" in Singapore over a "cheaper" country. All of the roads are flat without potholes. There is usually a way to get from one area to another via a shaded path that is wheelchair friendly. Government services work efficiently. Flowering plants and trees are found on every street, and the country has amazingly high levels of safety and security. All of these comes at a cost. It costs money to make sure roads are well-maintained, government services run properly, plants are watered and taken care of, streets are clean and safe, etc.
So world class there , agree the Singapore people respect their country..
100%
Welcome to my country. Singapore has so much to offer. Food is one of them! Check out the hawker centers. There are a lot around the country. One good place to go to is the Old Airport Road Food Center. If you like nature, The Southern Ridges trail might be nice. So is the MacRitchie TreeTop Walk. Enjoy your 10 days here! Let us know if you need any recommendations!
Hey Jack,I loved the gardens by the bay.Such a blessing to be there when they put the water on to make the cloud forest.Wow what a beautiful shopping centre.I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos as Singapore is a country we would love to visit one day.Stay safe, have fun 🙏💕
Thank you Emma! I am glad you liked the video! :)
Most foreigners visited the well manicured touristy Gardens by The Bay. But in Sg we have our well loved 163 year old 82 hectares UNESCO Heritage Singapore Botanic Gardens which is much more matured tropical garden and have a deep history with more variety of plants including a natural forest National Orchid enclosure and water bodies. There’s much more to explore there. There are 4 entry gates: Tanglin Gate (this is the original main entrance and main visitor Centre), Nassim Gate, Tyersall Gate and Bukit Timah Gate (Bukit Timah Gate is accessible via the Circle Line or Downtown Line at Botanic Garden Station).
Great! Thank you for sharing this! ill have to check it out!
Wowwww- thanks for sharing another awesome vlog Jack! I just saw my client and his son at work today in San Francisco and his son about your age will be heading to Singapore in November. I will definitely let him know about you & your channel! This video is just so perfect to share with him:)
Great thank you! Yeah Singapore is a great place!
Welcome to Singapore! Mark Weins was back here recently. You may want to check out his videos for some food options. Do note that most neighbourhood hawker centres only serves the breakfast and lunch crowd. Only a handful like Old Airport Road and Newton Food Centre open at night. Chinatown Food Centre/Hawker Centre is the largest hawker centre in Singapore, you can get lost there LOL.
Fun fact: We like to reserve (we call it "chope") our seats with packet of tissue/umbrella or other personal belongings placed on the table or chair while we go order our food. This is especially common in the CBD area (like Maxwell/Hong Lim). As this is a more efficient and time saving.
Thank you for the info! I am going to be doing a video on Hawker centre’s soon!
Welcome to Spore, Jack. If u r passionate about sustainable living, u gotta visit Kampong Admiralty n Punggol Town. These r public housing projects wif an emphasis on eco-sustainable n biophilic living. You'll be impressed. N for a touch of un-manicured goodness, u must visit the Sungei Boleh Wetlands Reserve n an offshore island called Pulau Ubin. There r plenty of other wholesome enjoyable places as well .... too many to name ... I'll jes mention two, ie UNESCO-heritage Botanic Gardens, n MacRitchie Reservoir (which has an awesome treetop canopy walk). Hv a great time!
Awsome! Thank you for the advice! I went to the gardens yesterday to film!
Welcome to Singapore. On the main island, you can experience our multicultural lifestyle by visiting Chinatown, Little India, Arab Street (including Haji Lane) and Kumpong Glam. Visit some of the smaller islands like Pulau Ubin, St John's Island and Kusu Island. Sign up for a guided Kayak tour of the mangroves or Islands. Of course there is also Sentosa Island, but that is definitely touristy and will cost you some for the activities there e.g, Universal Studios, The Luge, Flying fox, Sea Aquarium etc. If you like nature, other than Marina Bay Gardens, do check out our Botanic Gardens (World Heritage site) and Southern Ridge Hiking Trail. If you are interested to learn how to make local cuisine, you can also sign up for a local cooking class.
Cool, cheers for the tips!
There are many nice public gardens in London too plus the windy/chilly weather is perfect for me.

Couroupita guianensis, known by a variety of common names including cannonball tree,[3] is a deciduous tree in the flowering plant family Lecythidaceae. It is native to the tropical forests of Central and South America,[1] and it is cultivated in many other tropical areas throughout the world because of its beautiful, fragrant flowers and large, interesting fruits. Fruits are brownish grey.[4] There are potential medicinal uses for many parts of Couroupita guianensis,[5] and the tree has cultural and religious significance in India.[5] In Sri Lanka, the cannonball tree has been widely misidentified as Sal, after its introduction to the island by the British in 1881, and has been included as a common item in Buddhist temples as a result.[6] WIKIPAEDIA
Great thank you!
Welcome to SG! I'd personally recommend checking out these spots (which are often left out in tourist-y lists)
Nature: Kranji Marshes (theres a few farms there as well), Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserves, Southern Ridges, Kusu and St Johns Island (requires a ferry)
Food: While there's a ton of hawker centers and food courts, try the Milo Dinosaur (pretty common at most places) and Milk Powder Chicken at Two Chefs for more unique innovations
Experiences: Haw Par Villa, Singapore Discovery Center (for Military exhibits), explore NUS/NTU (e.g. Hive at NTU, University Town at NUS)
But the usual recommendations like Night Safari, Sentosa, Botanic Gardens, Jewel etc. are great too! Have a great time here :-)
Thank you mate! I’ll have to give these places a look :)
IKR the environment reflects the people and vice versa...
You can rent bicycles at Esplanade near the Merlion and cycle past Marina Barrage and onto east coast park.
I will look into this! Thank you!
@@JackTorr Cityscoot is the bicycle rental
You seem to be someone who like green environment alone, do check out how our Singapore park connectors connect around all Singapore. There's one outside and near sentosa. Check it out.
Hi Jack. Amazing vid and I liked the drone shot of the Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay - it was brilliant. You may want to visit CapitaSpring (nearest MRT- Raffles Place). This is the newest skyscraper and you can go to 51st floor and 17-20th floors for free. You can have a bird's eye view of Singapore and it is totally free. Visiting hours: Mon-Fri 8.30am-10.30am, 2.30pm-6pm. There is also a hawker centre on the 2nd and 3rd floor serving very affordable meals. As this is in the CBD, it can get pretty crowded in the hawker centre. Enjoy your stay in Singapore. Just subbed your channel.
Amaiznggg thank you for the insider information! I might go there on Monday!
Often people just use Singapore (like me!) as a 1st hop to somewhere else!
I did quite a few times then decided to actually make Singapore a holiday stop!
Exploring the Island is well worth it!
It's so multi layered and complex culturally!
It's taxing, but fun!
It's Interesting to explore!
Thank you! It really is a super fun city/country
I would love to visit Singapore one day ,love the garden look really beautiful and the food look so delicious, thank you for sharing
Thank you 😊

Great stuff! This place is on our list! Thank you!
No worries!
I’ve visited Singapore around 8 times. I stopover for a few nights while traveling back from SE Asia destinations and I love the city as well. Love the places you went to. I also visited this island called Pulau Ubin. It’s very Singapore experience
Amaizng! Yeah I love this country a lot! It actually reminds me of Australia a little bit, in some ways. The people are also so nice!
@@JackTorr I haven’t got a good reason why I love Singapore. I just love it. Maybe because of the hawker foods, parks, nightlife, etc.
oh yes a nice boat ride to Pulau Ubin is like u r back to the 50s vibe.
@@kennyzeng21 we did an all day bike trip in Palau Ubin. Highly recommended

_Hello From Singapore_
🤩 Super lovely and brilliant video
your vlogs are professionally done and entertaining. in my opinion, you deserve many Singaporeans subs
Thank for this! Hopefully I get more subs haha
In Singapore you can go to Sentosa for high end island and then take a bum boat to Paula Ubin for something different! Singapore has a lot of shops and food. Orchard road is worth a stroll. Botanic Gardens. Summit of Bukit Timah. Merlion by the Fullerton hotel. Nightlife walk around Boat Quay and Clarke quay. Go into the heartlands and have a look…..
Sweet! I will definitely be looking into this, thank you for the recommendations!
Enjoying your First Impressions videos. I've been to Singapore but only to the transit part of the airport. Very tempted to visit Singapore.
You should!
Henderson wave bridge, southern ridge, Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, Singapore, Har paw villa, food- Chinatown complex over 300 stalls of food selections, Hong Lim complex, maxwell food ctr, tong heng bakery, Changi village beer garden , nasi lemak, Pulau Tekong ,jek jawan, Kusu Island (sept)Sungei Kadut nature reserve, august 9th National Day parade
Amaiznggg! Thank you for sharing! :)
Sentosa, Chinatown, Little India , Kampong Glam, Marina Bay, Gardens By The Bay, Botanic Gardens (inscribed as UNESCO world heritage), Orchard area, East Coast park. Other attractions not sure if you are keen are Zoo, night safari, Jurong Bird Park.Food wise - Golden Mile food centre (B1-35 chicken rice, B1-34 hokkien mee), Hong Lim market and food centre, Newton food centre, Chinatown Complex, Zam Zam
Amaiznggg! This is a list that I needed! Thank you!
@@JackTorr The chicken rice at B1-35 Golden Mile food centre much better than that Tian Tian people keep viewing in RUclips .
@@JackTorr Zam Zam is for murtabak and mutton briyani .
The coconut looking plant is called the Cannonball Tree. The flowers are very pretty. The place you were eating is a Kopitaim or Coffee Shop. Hawker Centres are way bigger with a lot more stalls and usually not air-conditioned.
Careful, what you wish for, video of me in the Hawker Centres coming soon!
@@JackTorr Great can't wait 😋😋😋
Thanks for loving my country
No thank you!
if u like intergrating greenery with living, u can try visiting the Punggol Waterway. its the newer public housing projects.
I’ll have to check it out!
Welcome to SG! definitely go to our zoos, especially the night safari, it will definitely be an experience! walk into hawkers centres for food like chicken rice, laksa, sugar cane, carrot cake (not the kind of carrot cake u'd be familiar with) and much much more all in one place! Enjoy!
Careful what you wish for ;) may have done that today!
@@JackTorr there's a difference between coffeeshops (the one u had the thosai in), food courts (the one where u had Pepper Lunch) and hawker centres (not in this video, but if u've done it, great! :)
The marina bay sands food centre is too expensive for local food. Try cheaper local food at hawker centers like lau pasat, maxwell food centre, tekka market (little india), haig road food centre (geylang serai), zam zam (for its murtabak - minced chicken or mutton Indian pancake) across from Arab St. Visit Chinatown, Geylang Serai, Arab St, the Peranakan Museum, Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, Bird Park. Hope you njoy your stay in Sgp.
Btw fyi Aug 9 - Sgp will be celebrating it’s 57th National Day at the floating platform next to marina bay sands, with military parades, performances n fireworks. 👍
Amaiznggg thank you! I have filmed a lot of these things! So more content to come!
Welcome to Singapore🙏
If you don't want to spend much, don't go to restaurants or cafes. Go to the local hawker centres for drinks (beer, etc) and food. Can save more if you go to capsule hotels. Transport is of course mrt and buses. Forget the cabs. 😄 Going to the airport after 10 days? Take the mrt. 🙂
Good call! Coming soon!
Thank you for featuring Singapore
No, thank you.
You can try our local food like chicken rice ,Lassa noodles, nasi lemak rice(Malaysia food), roti plata(Indian food) and also chilli crab. They tastes are delicious must try. For first four items can find mostly in hawkers centres in Singapore and the last time is in restaurants like No Signboard restaurant, Long Beach Seaford restaurant, must try!
Thanks for the tips! I went out to film a chilli crab video 3 days ago ;)

Thank you! :)
Ohhhhhh pepper lunch! That hot plate thing is pepper lunch like one of the best foods in Singapore as a lot of my friends, cousins and family members like it including me and if you are still in Singapore you should come to the west (Jurong) because that is where I live!
So good!
Yeah.. the cannonball tree. :) The flowers are fragrant. The fruit itself, the smell puts me off. Hahah

Fort Canning Park for the history and the Instagram tunnel. Then head to Clark Quey, which is opposite the park, at night for the night life. Also Haji Lane for night life. I don't think it is wise to compare one country to another country, let alone a third world country to first world country... Rather you may compare it to your own country to see the difference and what can be improved. I am not Singaporean or Indian, but I believe every country has its own pace to grow given the resources, the government, the people and many more other things.. I do believe that Singapore can be an example or model country for other countries to follow but it doesn't mean that we can talk badly about another country... One thing you may learn from Singapore is to respect other countries people, cultures, etc.. that's why their diversity is so obvious, accepted, acknowledged and seen. I even think that other first world country can learn this from Singapore ❤
Hi Jack, nice content. Love to hear more on pricing etc but also what are you using to record your videos on ? Thanks

If you have spare cash lying around I strongly recommend you to stay at the Marina Bay Sands hotel for a night. Although it is expensive, it has the best views of sg and excellent service and I’m sure it will be a once in a lifetime experience
I would, but yeah I am on a budget!
Since you’re quite into green efforts, Singapore is trying to shake the concrete image of a Garden City (our tagline in the 70sand 80s which conjures an image of plants in an urban environment, emphasis on urban) to the current City in a Garden where the emphasis shifts to the garden.
Someone else already recommended our park connectors which link our various parks and allows a walk across or even around the island (it’ll take a couple of days though). Another also talked about the Punggol shore on the north end where the Punggol Waterway, though man-made) is a lovely and green amble.
And I’ve always been taken by the efforts to kind of return parts of the city to nature. Watch this transformation of Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. ruclips.net/video/m15zd7YLBBw/видео.html
