Hi Jack, I would recommend one of the must do thing in Sg in the morning between 8am to 12noon is to immerse in the local life at matured subsidized housing estates such as Toa Payoh, or Ang Mo Kio, etc (assessable via MRT) and feel the vibes of how 80% of the local live at their wet markets, coffee shops, hawker centres. Sg subsidized public housing is unlike other countries. Ours are well kept, and the units are spacious, well designed and planned for community living, complete with exercise / children playground facilities, green parks, sports complexes, shopping malls, schools, etc.

Our local dim sum is closer to hongkong's dim sum.
I'd skip the fish farm and definitely go to the Zoo. It's another one of Singapore's jewels. And once the birdpark opens in Mandai, I'd go there too. Absolutely shouldn't miss the Zoo!
Should also walk around a local neighbourhood to understand how 80% of Singaporeans live in public housing because it's very different from what people assume about public housing. Even as a Singaporean I enjoy walking through neighbourhoods.

These local farms will be shut down soon die to land shortage. I say it's good choice. Not going all the tourist trap and learn about real Singapore.
Toad,crocodile,goat,high tech chicken/egg farm,vertical farming,soil-less farm etc all these unique/innovative farms we have despite being just a dot. But sadly even i as singaporean djn ecen know how many of these are left ...

@@anniechoy6633 Thanks Annie. Yes Jack, you literally missed the best thing ever in Singapore....As for Chinatown, it is increasingly becoming China than Singapore Chinatown, slowly losing its unique local Singaporean charms.
The food you had in Chinatown? That's China cusine, not Singapore influenced cuisine..., if you want to taste real good food, go where the locals would go, not where the tourists will...cheers.
