I remember going to the early gen 6 races when the cars made 900hp and were LOUD as hell but I could stand down by the fence no problem. However, the Gen 7 is so raspy I can barely do it anymore. Everyone saying they’re quiet has not heard them in person.
Both sound good. The Gen7 actually sounds more dodge challenger hemi like with a rasp/clap effect due to a short tube header and H pipe set up... Idk can't explain sometimes what my ears interpret.... However, my ears will forever miss the X pipe sound from the Nascar Gen 4. They have such an extraordinary sound. I really wish the Gen7 had X pipes instead of H pipes. Now the Gen 6 had a weird exhaust. It was like a bigger H pipe but it double folded into what they called a boomtube exhaust and I guess that made sound "cleaner" I guess than the Gen7 now with a growly rasp.

The Gen 7 cars don’t have a crossover pipe. It’s just two pipes for each cylinder bank.

Yeah, for sure, that is a big difference with the Gen 7 car. It for sure has a lot more of a deep rumble lol.
