    having tough skin has always been a pivotal role for me as an artist. I have gotten shit on so many times, it helps builds character.

    That's right, bro: Phantasmizing over the Cultural Industry, and not making cool Animation, is playing with Uneducated Resentment. The true Artist, doesn't require that. Btw: 4:59 😸Love that Animation Exercize concept! Never seen it before, now that I'm in Blender --I've studied 2D Animation about nearly two decades ago.

    I’ve honestly temporarily given up on finding an animation job right now. I’m starting my own animation studio.

    For me, it is a bit different though. I kept practicing, got a bit better,. And now some of my rejections are saying, sorry we cant pay for your work permit :( At the end of the day, it is a business, so it is fair for them to save money and hire someone closer... so it is what it is.

    I had savings for 6 months of modest living when I started learning animation and I managed to do a reel that landed me my first job. It wasn't AAA studio but Indie, local one and I'm happy with that. We're about to release a really cool game in which I animated the main character and most of the monsters. You can always find affordable courses online and learn open source software to make the best reel possible for the given time and budget

      @@adamszczesny2646 not sure where you live. But today in major city you need a good salary to live a decent life.. Somenthing that indie studio can't provide.
      Maybe at the beginning can be OK.. But at some point you need to move to somenthing bigger tgat pays better. And you need high quality to get there.. Somenthing that affordable course online won't mostly give you

    I agree, quality is the key to getting a job in the industry. Although, I noticed that remote jobs have been less available for the last 6 months, and if they are on-site, they are only willing to employ people already in the country. Hence, making the job search a bit harder.
    Which, is a bit of a letdown for people in countries with less opportunities locally. On the other hand, I might not be looking hard enough for job availabilities, as I want to polish my skillsets before actively applying for jobs.

    I agree with everything you said, but a lot of jobs usually don’t want to sponsor work permits especially for short-term contracts.

    Hi Alessandro, I really love your videos and it helped me a lot with learning animation by myself over the 1 year, I'm currently focusing on body mechanics but is it okay to just make an animation demo reel to just showcase my body mechanics skill? Like walk cycles, run cycles, weight, and etc? I'm not confident in my body mechanics skill which is why I'm pushing myself to understand and practice it, but at the same time I wondering if I focus too much on it when will I ever make my animation reel. Even if I were to make it, what kind of shot is good for someone without experience like me?

    Another great video thank you! Alessandro, would you say a solid demo reel is better than a university degree please when applying to a studio?

      @acamporota  2 месяца назад +2

      absolutely, nobody cares of a degree, except for visa legal purpose. strong skill is all that matters

    Hey Alessandro, I just wanna know as AI is progressing rapidly in last couple of years and it can make 3d models, animations, renders, etc. so will it diminish the need of software like Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine, etc. What are your thoughts on it.
