    Honorable mentions:
    Windansea and Marine Street in La Jolla (for great surfing and body surfing).
    Mission Beach and Pacific Beach (for liveliness and entertainment).

    Thanks guys! I've been to Coranado ,nice, can get windy. I don't think much waves. I like La Jolla shores. and I did go to a night time bon fire on the each. I also like Mission Beach, great board walk, and Belmont Park. Pacific Beach has lots to do. I only went to Ocean beach 2x,once to Bogey board, and once to walk the pier, and to see the fireworks.Oh,went to Black's beach at Torrey Pines, so beautiful. But quite the hike down and back up. It is nudist and that was fun.

    I also think it depends on the situation (kids / no kids). My favorite beaches mostly align. My favorite would be Silver Strand due to nice bathrooms (state park) and no cliff but it's too close to TJ runoff. My youngest got really sick after going to Silver Strand. We've been going to La Jolla Shores more recently which I love except for the bathrooms (bathrooms suck and parking). There's a long shelf so I don't have to worry about my kids being sent out to sea constantly. I love Moonlight but it has a long decent. In general I prefer the off months not just due to crowds but the weather as well. If I didn't have kids I think I would just go for Leucadia beaches just north of Moonlight.

      Agreed! It’s also just a personal preference for a lot of these… I usually just prefer the ones that area easiest to get in and out of as they are beautiful in their own ways

      @@youtubecarspottersguide1 So I've been going there weekdays mostly. I normally find a spot Calle Frescota and La Jolla Drive (facing North). If your showing up early I have no experience with that. I think you won't have a problem. Off season is super simple.

    Moonlight is 25 north of San Diego. If I am visiting San Diego would I drive all the way north to this beach? Why wouldn't I go to a beach that's close to the city? Is Moonlight really in San Diego? Or a half hour north of the city?

    • @BernMcGovern
      @BernMcGovern  11 месяцев назад

      It’s all San Diego County so it depends on where you stay when you come to SD. If you are downtown you’ll be much closer to Ocean beach or mission beach or even La Jolla. Moonlight would be a bit further
