It's kinda out of character from how she's in the book (the way she expresses affection for Geralt and Ciri is much more reserved and matronly) but that squeal instantly melted my heart

For someone who lets her sleep in her bed, combs her hair, hugs her and kisses her on the head and claims her as her own daughter it seems appropriate to squeal when they see each other for the first time in 5+ years.
That's when I knew I made the right choice. Geralt would want a mother figure for his daughter. Ciri is the real love of his life. He's a father after all.

I always felt like Yen's only chance for true happiness is Geralt. In some twisted way only they can truly accept eachother completely. And it's truly beautiful imo.

Yennefer is such a beautiful character! Gorgeous eyes and I love her voice. I feel like Geralt and Yen's personalities compliment each other and it's fun to hear their sense of humor and banter between each other.

I love the fact that when you get Yen to corvo bianco, she talks about Geralt and their relationship when in other hand if you bring Triss, she just talks about Kovir and how she wants to return soon.... kinda shows the real character in both of them

Actually triss talks about them going back to their home in kovir, yennefer talks about them finally having a home and geralt hardly believing she is leaving the court intrigue and she asks for him to serve her because she is going to stay in the shade and do nothing

Cal Schmidt Geralt was killed by some peasant with a pitchfork, and although many of his friends were there, Triss was one of them and most important for me to make my point. Yen almost died while trying to heal Geralt. Ciri got a boat for them and sent them away to an island to heal. Geralt had some time to heal with magic. Geralt and Yen woke up, but the wild hunt came and took Yen. Geralt obviously catches up to them to get Yen, and he agrees to become a rider of the hunt in exchange for Yen to be released. Geralt somehow escapes from the hunt, but both Geralt and Yen suffer amnesia. Yen can recover faster because she had help but Geralt did not. Triss, remember, was there when Geralt was killed and knew perfectly well that he lost his memory. However, she took advantage of Geralt and even convinced him she was the person Geralt had his fate sealed with and she is his love, while she knew perfectly it was Yen as the two were best friends. She took use of Geralt and got him to help her, and he did because he thought she was his love. Of course, it is actually Geralt and Yen who are connected on such a deep level, and that is all the more seen in TW3 because the pair obviously act as parental figures to ciri, who is essentially their daughter.

Do anyone know what does "witcher gear bonus" mean ? It says something about grandmaster level and it's on specific armour sets, and swords not sure how to acquire those abilities. I've been searching all over the internet haven't found any perfect elaboration about it, and I am curious to find how good these witcher gear works. Thank you
Note : completed game without bothering about it, but now as I am about to start ng+ I would like to unlock those bonuses as well.
@@Ragssssss means that you receive a status bonus by wearing 3 or 6 pieces of the same set of any witcher school gear. For example 3 pieces of gear from the feline school set will give you a bonus but you must craft the grandmaster feline armor set and/or swords for them to unlock. The grandmaster tier armors and swords missions can be found in beauclair, the city in toussaint on the Blood and Wine expansion.

She's currently starring in Andor but, if you ever get to see the miniseries Too Close, her performance will blow you away.

currently reading the books and I have to say what an amazing job yennefer's voice actress did. she absolutely nailed everything about yen's voice and character. the soft sexy voice but one that can also scare the shit out of when she wants to, the way she can sound so threatening but you still respect her. I hope it all made sense I just really love the voice acting lmao

Played through the Witcher 3 4 times now and I can’t bring my self to romance triss. I started with 3 never read the books or anything but there is just something about yen that just draws me in.
I am turn off from Triss because of how many times she lied to him. If there is one thing I hate, it is lying to your friends or family.

I see a lot of Yennefer in my fiancé and vice versa. The first time I experienced playing ‘The Witcher 3’, i was not only completely enthralled by the story and world, but I was completely enamored by Yennefer and Geralt’s relationship.
I just instantly clicked with them and completely related to the banter, the sexual innuendos, the humor, the love for an adopted daughter, the butting heads of two strong personalities, and etc.
Just an incredibly well written romantic relationship. Thank you CD Projekt Red, Andrzej Sapkowski, and to the love of my life.

Witcher 1, 2 and 3 and the Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines are the only games I play annually every year.
One thing I've noticed viewing the scenes at Kaer Mohren a second time: Yennefer and Lambert have a sort of comradery in spite of their antagonism. I think Yen sees a reflection of herself within him, someone who guards his softer, more sensitive emotions fiercely with an tough ornery personality that ends up pushing people away. That's some subtle subtext you don't often see in games writing.

Definitely. When you’re at Kaer Morhen and find the centre of the magic disruption, you can tell Yen that it was the bombs that caused her megascope to be faulty. You can tell her that maybe Lambert did it for a romantic/crush reason. Yen blushes and says that she’s ‘flattered’ and stares to the side; her hand stroking her cheek, slightly.
they are just adorable :)) they are perfect together, people take Yenn's bitchiness too seriously, half of it is teasing and poking Geralt, you can tell how much she loves him, and all these things she complain about, she actually like about him :)

basically here’s a explanation I found from google cause I’m too lazy to type my own:
Their relationship is difficult in the beginning. They are both proud people who have no idea how to express emotions, love in particular, in fact both feel they are incapable of it. Geralt leaves Yennefer in the early morning with just a note and flowers after living together for six months, Yennefer cheats on Geralt in a particularly brutal fashion, Geralt screws a lot of women, things like that.
But, once Ciri comes into the picture, they are finally able to fix their relationship and admit to each other they are in love. Then of course the world falls apart, but they find each other in the end. And then of course Rivia.
The games start from there, and there’s Geralt’s amnesia and Triss using it to her advantage, and finally Geralt starts to remember Yen which is why he’s looking for her in the beginning of W3. The problem with Yennefer is the game creators knew she was a difficult character to portray well, and they also knew they wanted a good story, so they reverted her back to her pre-Ciri character and then they made her even more cold and abrasive to most everyone around then the books. (For example, book Yennefer respected religion and cultures, she uses her own money to help rescue non-humans, etc.) It’s only with your own interactions with her that you can see this is a facade. From her perspective, you can say it kind of makes sense. Here’s a woman who discovers the man she’s committed to has been fucking her best friend. He may not have remembered her, but her best friend certainly did and what a nasty blow to her. So she focuses on her daughter, but cannot pretend she feels nothing for Geralt either. This is also why her attitude changes once you’ve told her you love her, and why her ending in BW is basically the ending of the books in the orchard. She just wants to be with him, because he and Ciri are the most important to her.

I think Geralt and Yen might arguably be one of the best couple in gaming history. Such a unique chemistry between each other and I adore all their little squabbles and teases they do in each interactions. Watched the full length, great video.

Notice how Yen always trusts Geralt's decisions while Triss doubts him? The only thing Yen couldn't trust was Geralt's feelings for her due to the wish.
Yeah, and that went both ways because she also couldn’t really trust her own feelings for him due to the wish. Only after it was said and done did she realize that it was all genuine, and that all her doubts were thankfully for naught, if the player chooses to romance her
I've been playing this game ever since launch week, have almost 3k hours on steam (so fking close) and not only have I never felt bored playing it, but this channel is probably my personal favourite on youtube exactly because I feel like you love the witcher series even more than me. The fact that 4 years after launch you keep making videos on this series means a lot for us and you should know that. Cheers mate, keep up the great work.

Why the Yen romance is better.
Watching the whole romantic series with Yen and all of Geralt’s interactions with her, the story is still strong and is still telling of the main plot point. With Triss, it’s a side quest at best.
Her interactions tell nothing of the main story. She’s barely involved.
But Yen is cause we know what we’re fighting for in game.
My laptop ate shit as I was playing through Blood and Wine, right when things were getting real interesting. Your videos were the determining factor in my decision to finally play the Witcher 3 years after it came out. Very glad I did since it’s now one my favorite games. Can’t wait to return to it and finish up such a great game.
And damn, he wasn’t lying. Gaunter O’Dimm, the devil in the flesh, was there from the beginning.
His quest is incredibly memorable as well.

People are always on about her being bitchy. She never seemed that bitchy to me, I actually liked her sarcastic humor and cold demeanor. Maybe it's cause I'm a woman lol. At least with her I know she'll always love Geralt. For Triss, I don't know, I know she'll always care for him but her love could just be an infatuation. I mean, it likely is just that. :(
I think it´s more along the lines of not being a asshole toards her and then getting angry about any backlash from Yen. I think your point of view and your choice in dialogues is linked to how mature you yourself are. For example being able to say something as simple as "I´m sorry I fucked up." instead of putting all the blame on amnesia and refusing to apologise at all. Young people who go in the game with the "I can do no bad" mindset get a pissed Yen out of it and put all the blame on the game or thats how it seems to me after reading some of the comments.
heh, Im a guy and i go the Romance route with Yen in my game. To me Triss is the type that friendzone's someone, whereas Yen is the Ex that realizes how much you meant to her and was always there to pick her up when she needed you most.

I think Yen saying that she prefers Geralt to do it is linked to a different conversation option. I just picked the 'Don't have a choice' option half an hour ago and she still said she preferred Geralt.
Well Yen will prefer Geralt wipe her down as long as you choose to romance her during "The Last Wish" quest.
I love how in the scene before the fight against the hunt she asks if he wants to come with her - while she turns away, knowing that she is vulnerable as hell in that moment .... I freaking LOVE this character!
I still play witcher after all these years, i just can't stop playing it... i go thru the map with my eyes closed and every time i finish the game i just can't wait to start again 😂

Ahh the memories. It was 5 years ago that I was completely immersed in this game, especially the romance which was the best I've experience in any game. Consequently I chose Yennifer in each of the 3 times I've played through this game because I just couldn't feel anything with Triss.

Solas romance is superb though, well at least for me
Bioware used to be able to write romances on par with this - the ones in Baldur's Gate II are still unmatched in terms of choice and consequence (sleep with Jaheira? She permanently leaves your party - and the gameworld. Slept with Aerie? She carries her recently-born child with her through the entirety of Throne of Bhaal.), and some of the dialogues are still fantastic decades after the fact.

I haven't played the games yet but I have read the books. I love how many times the events from the books are referenced in the game :)
And i love that the game expands on it in a reasonable and creative ways. The example i have in mind is the mention of Coral. She is mentioned in the books, when Geralt sees her name on the obelisk at Sodden Hill. A fleeting memory of them having an affair years ago. And the game expands on that, when Geralt says, that he can't think of any sorceresses from Skelige, and Yennifer names Lytta Neyd (Coral), both as a trivia piece and a jab at Geralt for having "knew" so many that he can't remember them all.
The one thing i don't remember mentioned in the game is Geralt's *first* wish with the djinn. It was probably one of the most hilarious things in the original book.

@@necfreon6259 yeah, no that was not accurate at all. Neither book characters nor game characters act in any way like it. Netflix versions - maybe, who knows.
His first wish was funny, because at the moment he didn’t know, that he was in control of the djinn, and as a desperate attempt to banish the apparently aggressive creature he used “incantation” of banishment in the language he didn’t understand. The djinn indeed disappeared. Later it was revealed that the “incantation” was basically “go fuck yourself” - and the poor djinn disappeared because he was compelled by the wish.
