Do you have issues with trimmer string eating up vinyl fencing? What do you tell the customer? Or do you trim up to the fence with something else?

I was hoping I could get some advice. I have a large area, at least 500 sq. ft., that is all large gravel and it wasn't installed with a good weed barrier, so they're everywhere. Is there something I can do short of clearing it all out or hoeing it by hand?
