Smart move MJ
crazy how so many people need to talk about MJ and Jay Z, never see them doing interviews themselvves lol
Great job carving up the PBD interview... These are the best parts.😮😂
The number of people yelling about what a grown man should do or say is hilarious.
Man: the voice on this guy is unreal! Really good voice.
a wise move. a very wise move
MJ did exactly what his handlers told him to do. The same people that praise Jordan for remaining Silent criticize Mayweather for not being more like Ali. Hypocrisy at it's Finest...
that makes no sense. You call two elite athletes in the public eye out for doing the same thing - that's not hypocrisy. What Mayweather did and what Jordan did are not dichotomous - they are congruent which isn't hypocrisy
@@Ulysses432 I never called the athletes out, I called the people that judge them out...
@@billbangzI agree. It is impossible for Floyd Mayweather to be like Ali because they both lived in two different eras. Ali- Vietnam, segregation, bus boycotts, etc. Mayweather- social media… lol therefore, you can’t measure someone the same as another individual, without properly assessing the times in which they were relevant/active and the circumstances. Most people are just jealous of Floyd Mayweather and express it in ways of overly nitpicking his lifestyle/career.
Malcolm X spoke on how we're the only group of people that look to entertainers and athletes to be political pioneers and leaders.
Jordan didn't speak on politics and nor should we be any more demanding of him to speak up on political views than our next-door neighbor.
He played ball, if he decides to give his opinion, cool, but if not, there's nothing wrong with a basketball player just being a basketball player.
That's not what Malcolm said he said that "they"only send athletes and entertainers to talk to/speak for US about politics and serious situations......it's a huge difference 🙄 he never said we follow them
@@markburn4943 he may not have said that, but it doesn’t mean that it’s incorrect. We are the only culture that looks up to celebrities and entertainers to speak for us and get mad when they don’t
@tristinhall1275 so Trump not a celebrity? Stop saying anything. He is literally the president, but we are the only culture smh
@@broshawnjackson154 notice how you have to say one damn person who has happened to become the president moron. Yes only the culture depends on ballplayers rappers, comedians, and movie stars to be the voices of Black people. I don’t have to stop saying anything just because you’re playing dumb.

shows how much smarter MJ and Kobe were. Lebron is an attention seeking 🤡🤡🤡
LeBron grew up without a father while MJ and Kobe didn't, they both had mentors early in their life which forced them to be more accountable while LeBron developed that on his own with helps from NBA vets, Kobe included, coaches, etc. LeBron did an excellent job to not become a statistic.
@@fizzle2323 thats true but Lebron isnt that bright of a kid. he constantly puts himself out there on social media and seeking attention. Have to give him credit for being a good athlete and working hard at it
@@KC-gr7xz Lebron is very bright. He was an exceptional student in high school and listening to him talk, you can tell he's intelligent. He says what's on his mind and that doesn't mean he's seeking attention. An athlete speaking out on injustice is not attention seeking and it's a very personal decision. Some guys are more conformable than others speaking out about things like that. Doesn't make one smarter than the other
@@KC-gr7xz I don't even like Lebron, but you have to give him credit as a good businessman too. His salary for is career is under $500 million, but his net worth is over a billion.
Lebron is a big dog
Greatest quote by Michael Jordan: "Republicans buy sneakers too!"
He was saying that as a joke and they only took that part of it and ran with it
@@Outlaw4Life45 Maybe a joke, but even MJ did not fully meant it as a joke. MJ is one of the most ruthless businessmen to have ever done it! Think about it, MJ is one of the first athletes to demand getting paid via stock options for endorsement deals!! So, it might have been a joke, but a little more than just a joke!!
Why is it implied he would support Democrat positions ?
@@cjcrrazy It's not implied - he's on the record as being a Democrat.
@@cjcrrazy Do not know. But MJ never took sides publically. And it was smart move on his part!
Even now...Pippen only matters when he's talking about MJ. That's the only reason this guy is interviewing him. And Pippen is still falling for it.
He got it with his parents. Even they got once in politics once they didn't make a drama of it.

Cause MJ knew how messed up the bs really is
Micheal Jordan obeyed his master who pretty much demanded him to - (shut up & dribble) , lol
Because the knows that no matter what you say, how you say it, and who you say it about, it’s gonna piss off a LOT of people. Turns out he knew what the fuck he was doing after all
That was his MJ’s choice. People saying smart move. In terms of what? It was a move for him because he was protecting his brand and possibly himself. Muhammad Ali on the other hand made his choice and was willing to accept all that came with it, losing his belt and went to jail. That was courage. People remember and loved him for it. Not many people are willing to sacrifice what they have for an ideal. The ones that do and usually not talked about much because I think people feel a little ashamed because most take the easy road. We like the ones that play it safe because it reflects what we do so we don’t feel as bad.
Well written and ❤it
Protecting a brand that doesn’t care about him
@ when I say brand I’m talking about the Jordan himself. Remember all those commercials with him in it from Hanes, to wheaties, Gatorade and of course Nike. He himself as a brand was easily marketable and made those brands and himself a lot of money. He basically put Nike on the map by himself. So if ever a brand cared about a person, it would be Nike for Mike. That rhymes lol
Is them silly white boyz talkin bout wise move
True 👍🏽
What about Kareem and Ali ?
Scottie just “he had a big brand to protect”. So it was just about the money to MJ, not intergrity.
Who cares about Kareem and Ali what exactly did they accomplish by getting involved in politics? Absolutely nothing.
facts
@@Heavenly.city007 You're right, nothing, or even worse.
But they were loyal to their intergrity and had the courage to accept that came with it.
This is why Jordan will be always considered a great in basketball, but not a great man. There are only a few venues that black Americans have been able to platform in order represent issues that ocuur in black communities but rarely or not at all in white ones. Traditionally the greatest black athletes would take advantage of that. That stopped with Jordan and set a standard for a generation of brand conscious and socially tepid black athletes. Ali, Russell, Ashe, Juan Carlos, Tommie Smith, Jackie Robinson, etc...all great athletes, but greater people. They will always be remembered as champions in life and for the people. Jordan's sphere will be the court, that was his choice, and that's fine. When and if someone surpasses his nba dominance, he will slowly fade away in relevance though.
Why he should care specific about black people? He has make donations to hospitals, schools, museums etc that are for all people. Its 2025,all people have the same rights and same opportunities. The problem is that many want free what others worked hard to get.
What are you talking about? You do aware jordan has done a lot of donations right?
@@juventinos81FR . I saw comment the other day when Jordan donated $30m on I don’t recall what donation it was and this guy on comment section said “ just $30m?” . I said to myself I don’t believe people like this actually exist. Like you said some people want everything free and worse some are so ungrateful doesn’t matter how many you give to them.
@johncambridge7181 if you noticed what I actually posted, I mentioned that Jordan was quiet on civil rights/social justice issues affecting black people. I said nothing about getting money or getting something that is not deserved. What I am outlining is the path to being considered a great man/person in terms of historical legacy.. Jordan came from poverty just like most of the great black athletes before him. The circumstances of black poverty are clear in American History, if you don't understand the correlation, I don't have enough time here to explain it to you. Philanthropy from wealthy people is admirable and appreciated. They don't have to give. But a prominent black voice speaking up about injustice and risking their comfort, marketability, reputation, and even safety is different. It makes it so that the country can't ignore the situation that black America is experiencing and simultaneously enjoy the entertainment value that black people bring to the athletic arena. This is what made the men I mentioned before great. I get it you don't understand, but you probably are coming from an entirely different life experience.
Michael Jordan endorsed Bill bradley after he retired
in other words Jordan didn't give damn about nothing but his basketball, his reputation, his business & his money.
anything problems of the world, problems with his people & his community can all go to h3ll, lol
That’s not true, he helped his community a ton. Just not through politics.
MJ was smart
I give Jordan that he stay in his lane

Lebron 🏳️🌈
😂
you would not be able to not have political leanings in 2025. it’s too divisive out here
Mike was paid to smile and never have an opinion.
People who don't inspire to have a business that depends on the public wont understand why you avoid politics and religion. You as a owner voicing your opinion can stoo people from doing business with you and other relationships that can build your brand. The same people who say no stand on your beliefs won't be there to help when a mans business falls to shit. Keep business and politics separate
also, mj has to sell shoes. “republicans buy shoes too” he said. what a sellout
Lol what u mean pippen we know jordan a lefty
What most people fail to understand is that Michael Jordan is the sole reason why athletes today are able to openly speak about politics/societal issues. By Jordan becoming the first corporatized NBA star, he was able to maximize his earning potential beyond the sport of basketball, through his Nike sponsorship. Todays athletes like LeBron, Steph, Colin Kapernick, etc. are corporate instruments for companies like Nike, under armor adidas, etc. just like Jordan was. The difference is that we live in the ‘woke era’, where it is in companies, such as Nike’s, best financial interest to speak on societal matters and using the Athletes as proverbial ambassadors, to make their stances known to the world. ‘Wokeness’ and race hustling sells and the corporations know this. A lot of people even began to pick up on the hypocrisy with the Kapernick situation. A man who claims to be ‘a man of the people’, but he has an endorsement deal with a company (Nike) who has sweatshops all throughout Southeast Asia, exploiting workers. Or what about the LeBron and China incident a few years back? People fail to put things in their proper context and perspective and immediately lambast someone, without understanding the full dynamics at play. No one in the 80s and 90s spoke on racial or political issues, not just Jordan because it was not in their or their sponsors best interest to do so.
Bro, stop smoking Jordan's farts.
Rusell, Ali, Karem and many others have been able to openly speak about politics and social issues before Jordan were on the map.
Because Lebron think he is the KING
MJ was raised in a two-parent system with older siblings that raised him. He did fall victim to the issues of poverty like Bron. So the need to be seen and heard off the court wasnt didnt bother MJ. Bron's mentality is "look at me" - thats how it was from his birth.
Scotty don’t know shit. Him and MJ haven’t been speaking terms in years. Just one does something the other doesn’t don’t mean jack shit. LeBron is who is he is because he’s self made, point blank
What selfmade
They make him KING
Even called him King James even he is a rookie
You forgot that
Because of Jordan Mother
All if this player get huge shoe deal
professional athletes aren't "self-made" - they are employees.
@@Ulysses432 NO they’re literally self made. What other profession besides professional sports allows straight up merit meaning you have to have pure talent and work ethic to become successful sports are a clear representation of that. So self made the owner doesn’t make shit if he doesn’t have the talent. And plus these athletes don’t play forever. 1.5 Billion net worth from the low income Akron Ohio is self made.
