The Best Dim Sum In Vancouver | Best Of The Best
What food should we rate next on Best of the Best? Let us know in the comments below!
You forgot the best sushi in Vancouver, because Vancouver has the best sushi
Is Herrine stoned throughout this video, or what? Kind of annoying...
Best raman or sushi. Vancouver has more Japanese restaurants than any other.
Doughnuts
Poutine in montreal
I know the host mention she was jetlagged, but she looked, sounded and ate like she was high LOL
Well she may have been, it is legal to do so in Canada
And how would you know how it is to look, sound and eat while being high? 😉
That just being exausghted. Have you ever been on a plane that's 8+ hours? Damn it's so tiring, that's definitely a realistic look of jetlagg
there's a dispensary across the street, ahah
@@audreyaitken1037
They saw other people who were high eating food...
As a Chinese person who visits Hong Kong and the Guangdong Province on a regular basis (where dim sum originated), I can legitimately say that Vancouver's dim sum is top notch!
Most HK people to to Guangzhou for weekend trip just to eat its a lot cheaper than HK and taste better
Agree 100%
@Daisy Wong Yes Shunde is very good for food. I been once and there are so many good big fancy restaurants with such tasty food
@Daisy Wong Yes when you are in the streets in Australia every other restaurant has so many people that they have to wait outside and the Cantonese restaurants have no single costumer.
I've heard this soo many times! So cool. Must try
They came to a dim sum at 11:30 and expected not to wait???!! That's prime lunch time.
Tho she did say at the end it was a Wednesday. That’s kinda surprising for a weekday dim sum meal. That’s always more of a weekend meal for me.
Sorry in Vancouver, good dim sum place is always busy! Doesn't matter it is weekend or weekday.
@@shengao5219 yes, that's what Im saying,. They came to dim sum at 1130, exactly when it is busy.
@@joegolok nope not at a popular dim sum place, especially with a large aged Chinese demographic. It's like saying a dimsum place in Canton isnt packed during the weekday
they probably was expecting special treatment. hahahahaha
strictly dumpling would order one of everything from the menu.
Herrine and mikey are actually friends lol. So most likely he'll be visiting there if he can by herrine's recomendation.
Chef Tony is great but technically it is in Richmond which is a suburb of Vancouver. As a Richmond resident I must say they have the best dim sum restaurants in our lower mainland. As it is where our airport is located very easy to get to and for our jet lagged foodie probably should have been the first stop. Mikey would have a food Fiesta here for sure.
mikey chen is fulan gong so he is bad
asianmale30 strictly dumpling is a stupid Falun Gong cult member.
Y do I feel like herrine is stoned in this video? 🤣
Oscar Chen same dude 😂
dizneyfanatic13 8 hour flight isn’t going to wreck you
@D & X F maybe she's smoking weed cos of her jet lag? 🤔
@@frakundo Her eyes aren't red. I think she's genuinely tired.
KnowYourHistory it’s called eye drops
what do you expect coming at 11:30am for dimsum...it's like prime hour
lol if u want 2 b early you need 2 arrive at 10 am
In Richmond! The whole suburb is Asian people!
Title: Best of the Best
Reality: "We went to Jade because it was the only one open."
That's the only reason. Don't eat in Chinatown anymore except one little bao place on Keefer and Main.
This was not even close to the best of the best. I'm also glad not even the top 3 spots here even made this list. Keep them hidden for locals to enjoy, the last thing we need is some insane lineup from youtube people.
@@mouman I think it's better to promote businesses in Vancouver to more people. It will help them do well as they will gain more attention from the media. Especially in a tough time like this, they need those extra support from us - the customers more than ever.
@@mouman would you like to recommend me some places? 😌
@@emilynguyen1873 Lol, the places here have had no shortages. the lineups still just as long, the places still as busy. I already wait an hour for the citys best dimsum, i dont wanna wait 3
Ok how can you not ever order egg custard buns??? They are the bomb!!!
Yeah they looked like little cheese danishes wow 😮!
gooey egg custard buns are WAAY better (the one that drips out)
@Ice The Wolf all Asians are lactose intolerant...we eat dan tat no problem!
Ryan Yee not all asians but most though
Ryan Yee is this a joke? Because I’m Asian and I am not lactose intolerant
I love how that rice roll matched Herrine’s nails 😄
Yeah, wonder if it was done knowing it beforehand?
Hey Herrine, is the rice roll made of green tea?
My mouth just watering by watching this... I love dim sum lol
Herrine looks dead in this video.
I actually like her vibe in this one
Went to Chef Tony in Richmond 3 years ago, I totally agree it's the best of the best dim sum ever! I do enjoyed that Bitter Melon steam rice rolls!
I love Herrine Ro.
Arriving to the restaurant at 11 am, with no reso.
Rookie season lol
Oh my gosh!!! That food looks so delicious 😋
burns tongue, "I feel like this is part of the experience".. LMAO
I see she got her hands on some BC bud
Can you add some prices on the screen next time. Thanks!
they could change prices at any time. go find them on yelp to see a menu.
Yelp is your friend
Such a valid point, or at least give a price range for each restaurant. We didn't learn much here.
@@Laminte557 it actually isn't a valid point. how many restaurant videos do you see with prices? Zero. Why? Because it's sorta stupid to include prices when they can change at any time. A lot of restaurants don't even include prices on menus they list on their own websites. Why? Because prices are subject to change at any time. Go get the information yourself, you know like when you're searching for the phone# and address.
@@orangemoonglows2692 I don't know what your beef is. Off the top of my head, RUclips restaurant reviews with prices: BuzzFeed's Worth It, Mikey Chen's reviews, and even the Fung Bros restaurant reviews.
To many people, price is a main factor besides food quality and customer service and it's a valid point to me (and the initial commenter) that a review would have it.
Wow. Great video. You make me want to go to try these restaurants one day when I can fly out of NYC.
The day that I go to live in the USA and decide to go to a Chinese restaurant, I will have to make friends of that origin so that they can recommend me and accompany me to eat some of their gastronomy. What I just saw in the video I really liked, and also with her on board, who has a good sense of humor, I enjoyed the video, the presentation of those three Chinese restaurants was phenomenal. Bravo! 🤤😋👌🏻💯🥢🥡🥦🍜🍤🍚🥗🐲🇨🇳🇨🇴🇺🇲
Her energy is so low in this video, she makes me want to either sleep or smoke a joint.
lol I felt the same way
I love her job
Western Lake on Victoria drive and 34th.
Amazing shrimp and chive smashed fried.
moneca yardley YESSSS!
Is this Washington , or Canada that you’re referring to?
Ricky Bobby Canada yes'm!
YES MY FAV
Ricky Bobby 10/10 it’s never Washington Vancouver 😈
Dim sum yummy-looking meals!
I'll show myself out.
Watching this from HK, hungry now.... gonna head down my buidling to get some lol
That bbq pork bun looked fantastic! Who am I ?! Lmao 😂!
Where am I?
What am I?
😂 😂
I miss vancouver
The *can we get the spare ribs* face omg 100% can relate
Yes! Come to Vancouver more often :)
Herrine really looked lit in this video 😂😂😂 she scratched her hair as if she's not filming lmaoo
I just woke up and then I see this video... I'm so hungry :,)
drooling
Interesting, this was a topic idea i submitted for a job posted on Insider...you guys couldn't respond to my job application but could take ideas? 🤔
Welcome to life lmfao
@@EclipsePlaysFB lmfao damn hard truth 😭🤣
oh man. I'm sorry :/
Real original idea.
@@villanelles_suit7271 All gravy.👌
Its too easy I have to... I want me Sum of this Dim Sum!😝
a true asian will never complain about tea or dim sum being too hot
i like the way she analyzes
Lol of course her favorite was Chef Tony because it was in Richmond. Richmond has the best dim sum.
Those bbq pork buns looked amazing
Fantastic...
12:06 Gotta love the Jackie Chan lookalike fixing their package in the background.
He was adjusting his belt ... if that was his package I feel sorry for him . 🤣
Glad you came to Vancouver and hope you’ll be back. You can best cheap dim sum as it looks like you went higher end.
And 11:30 is prime dim sum brunch time... there’s always a wait!
Note for next video...it’s sui Mai. There’s no “h”!
in mandarin chinese its shao mai and in a lot of American restaurants its spelled shumai, so honestly the pronunciation depends on where shes from I guess
She's specifically mentioned the focus was Cantonese dim sum, so skipping the "h" is a good default.
@@SquidandCatAdventures Yup. That's the way we say it too. Whenever I hear the "sh" sound, I always think, that must be Mandarin (I only know Cantonese basics 😑)
6:26 look of pure joy through the filter of being jet-lagged and probably stoned
I am a dim sum buff and also a Vancouver resident. Glad my favorite dim sum restaurant Chef Tony was recognized in this video!
I love dim sum. It is the perfect meal and beats any western food style brunch buffet.
Dynasty is my fav place to go in Vancouver!! The lemon bbq pork pastry is my favourite thing ever
That all looked fantastic...especially Chef Tony! A friend and I are headed to Vancouver in July, so this was a welcome video! Unfortunately, we will be tied up for most of the day while we are there (doing some yoga training). Any other suggestions for places to go later in the day/earlier in the evening would be great! We are training on Granville Island and staying in Yaletown.
Lee garden
there is a chef tony here in dc chinatown, probably different tony tho
3:49 Just another reason to love Herrine.
Watching her makes me sleepy and not hungry
Superb vidiyo
Im from Guangzhou and i live in Melbourne and im going to Vancouver in a few monthes cant wait to see if i can go to those restaurants
Did u go
@@Tesla369.7 Yep! but not specifically those restaurants. all the restaurants are So good. Such cheap and quality is same level as China. Cheap and big portions. in australia chef have no motive. Expensive and Crappy quality and tiny portions
WOW.. DUMPLINGS LOVER...
What a great Review.. yummy.. Thanx Herrine..

My list of Dim sum places I still have to try is long....but I guess I'm going to have to add a few more to the list!
Dim sum, gosh! I wish they have it here where I live!!!
This was a great one.
So good
Love dim sum so jealous it’s been so long
I grew up in Vancouver, and moved to NYC. In the 17 years I've lived here, I have gone for dim sum less than 5 times in NY. I just wait till I visit home to Van for my dim sum fix. There's many more good spots to go to than these too!!
Oldies that’s still hold supreme👍.
Let the shrimp-dumpling cool down a bit before you eat it, or the "wrapper" will easily come off (not because it's over-steamed)
3:44 find someone who looks at you the way Herrine looks at that BBQ pork bun.
Great dim sum journey. I would suggest trying Red Star in the South Granville/ Marpole area, which is similar to Chef Tony. A homier and authentic dim sum place would be Western Lake Chinese Seafood Restaurant.
Those are my family’s go to places as well.
Omg, you guys were here? Yass
I love dim sum so much. Beautiful food.
Pink Pearl on Hastings Street is my favorite. I have been going there for years.
Dang it! I hate when I drool on my screen.... YUMMMMM!!
If you come back try Kirin's Richmond location (which I think might be the best) and Fishman's terrace! Also I have a big soft spot for Cindy's Palace in East Van - their taro dumplings are bomb because they put a bit of the mustard/Portugese sauce in around the meat.
me : i dont even like watching mukbangs, people eating is weird
me when herrine ro is hosting : *brings blanket and pillows to desk chair*
LOVE ME SOME DIM SUM!
why am i watching these while im starving at 4 in the morning...
You guys went to the wrong dim sum restaurants! Suggestions: Kirin, seafood terrace, empire restaurant
It’s 2:30am and i am watching this instead of sleeping.
And i am craving for dim sum now!!
Pity me , can’t go to Vancouver now!!!!!!!!!
Pretty lady .... Love her comments
Can we get the spare ribs?= Pure joy. ♥️🤗🤣
Her face when she asked for the spare ribs lol
Finally! my home is being showcased! Van City
Wait your home is literally the whole Vancouver city, Noiceeeeeeee
mid night dim sum and early morning plces in hk after a night drinking feel heaven here in HK !!
oh wow she loves to eat. very impressive.
Classy I want some yummynesssssss
She never knows what she is doing. Great job.
I like the description
I was born and raised in vancouver the dim sum - good also i llke all these dim sum foods :D Also richmond has dim sum
She sounds like a sleepy or drunk girl in the song selfie by chainsmoker.. love your vid bdw 😁
Great video, going to Vancouver next Month for my annual food trip. Next time try Sea Harbour Seafood which is across from the front entrance of the River Rock casino. I have been making a pilgrimage to Vancouver for many years trying out all kinds of restaurants and types of food. Sea Harbour is one of those places that I plan my return flight home around so that I can stop there on my way to the Airport. now for the interesting part... Seafood Harbour IS Chef Tony! It was his first Restaurant that he opened with his brother, still there, I believe?
Hey I remember u with Mikey Chen lol and the foods are amazing mmmmmmmm yummmmmy
The fact that I’ve been to all these is hilarious
oh girl thanks and U look fab!
The dim sum at Pink Flamingo is top shelf, been eating there for 35 years,
Easily one of the best in Van !
They moved locations in the past couple years, due to a fire I believe.
Down on kingsway ave.
the green rice rolls match herrine's nails :P
I think I've been to all of those places lol
you are such a sweetie so cute and happy with joyful personality.enjoy life!
The sushi in Van is next level too.
6:26 mfw i successfully order spareribs and ignore the waiter's suggestions
Nice work
I like egg custard bun hehe 😉
Love fried taro. Wish she took bites so we could see the middles
Looks like common dim sum items in Toronto too!
I have some family that lives in Vancouver so I went there for vacation and i went to 2 for those Dim Sun places
One of my favorite places to eat dim sum is Kirin restaurant at the starlight casino branch
I loveeee dim sum 💗💗💗💗
Next time try Shanghai River Restaurant in Richmond. The dumplings there is awesome!
I’m hoping to see Sun Sui Wah and Western Lake :(
