I know these are based off the Usagi yojimbo episode, i wish Raphael's jacket was his white version from episode 2. I think the reason Neca decided to have these versions, instead of second episode jackets is bc. We couldn't see Leonardo's disguise. He was hiding behind Michaelangelo and Donatello. All you could see was his arm, every frame. It would've been impossible for Neca to give us that version of his punk outfit. Unless Neca would be able to get concept art for that episode. If the concept art exists.
And maybe it leaves room for more! Haha. We love our turtles.
I got my greasy mitts on this set earlier today at target. Everything on em moves so much smoother than my tid set. I told myself I wasn’t gonna go all in on this haulathon but seeing the bros with a dark, matte finish has me rethinking this entire operation. They look so dang good.

Great review and comedic style as always! And I love that you gave Raz Rentals a shout-out! That guy does an amazing job with all the little details you never knew you needed. Lengthy videos for sure, but it's worth it. Ya' just got to devote a lot of time to them... and sometimes take notes on what things you want to comment to him about.
My Turtles in Disguise were a later set, from the Neca store, so mine a matt, but the extra hands look glossy... I've opened the package but didn't fully take them out. So I'm still using the two pack turtles that first came out in Target (Donny-Krang, Leo-Shredder, etc).
I definitely want this set of Turtles, mostly because of those sweet, sweet sneakers! But it's kinda odd that they're not putting cell shading on them now. Though if you got all of them, you got options. And options are GREAT!

Are the heads all one piece on the older two packs?

You said that it is wild that they painted the eyeballs because you can't see them, but then you must be able to see them to know that they have painted them! 🤣
Therefore I am happy that they have painted them because when viewing them at close angles, it is nice to be able to see them rather than them being pure white eyes like I think that Grunt figure had under his shades/glasses.
I like that only Mikey has the teethy grin too, as it kind of gives him more personality and the teethy grin suits his character more. The one thing that is lost with the whole swapping and changing of the lower and upper head parts so that everything is interchangeable between each turtle with some of NECA's previous releases, is that each turtle's individuality is lost a little bit by doing that. This pack at least has unique head sculpts for each of the four turtles that each turtle can call their own.

Thank you very much. I think the different expressions are important for a lot of people, especially photographers. I also matched each expression from the alternate heads to the same turtle to keep that theme going

I’ve always wanted these goofy outfits in figure form so I have to track them down. Definitely would have preferred the season one look with Raph’s white coat, but this will do fine.

the shoes and the alt heads are the highlights for me. thanks for sharing these, always great posing and lighting. This set is tempting but I'm only interested in buying a toy colors set at this point. if I had a 1/12 street scene diorama set up these would be a must-buy.

This 4-pack is on the bottom of my list for things to grab this haulathon. Those extra expressions are nice, but not $150 worth. To me, at least. Those pizza club versions I am hoping to get, however. I have the style guide versions from 2 years ago, but I prefer the dark green, and never saw the TiD ones, and didn't feel like paying $250+ from ebay. Looking forward to the review of that Mikey

I was 50/50 on these, because I already have the TID set, and I absolutely had to get the Pizza Club turtles, so I wasn't sure. I bought the Punk Turtles anyways and almost returned them, but they're just too cool. They display great and look amazing.

I know you love accessories so hopefully you see this message! I came across these Hot Wheels Skate TMNT in Target that go really well with these punk turtles! They have a different skateboards for each turtle! Look it up if you want to spruce up your turtle bois with their own punk skateboards!

How am I supposed to share that with you? Also, it's useless to have that. The barcode ONLY helps if the NECA vendor scans the item into inventory. In that scenario, it would then be placed on the shelf. The items I have purchased from every Haulathon and Geek Out event were never scanned into inventory. They ALL showed as zero in stock.
Neca should send you stuff if they knew what was good for them!

I'm so glad seeing someone giving Gary (Raz Rentals) his due. I've been watching him for years, but feel he mostly flies under the radar.
So as someone who was only going to buy this for the new expressions, can you tell if the punk Turtles are a different color of green, or do they just not seem to match because of the finish? (I gave my disguise Turtles a couple coats of Mr. Hobby flat topcoat.)
I cannot say for certain, but I would wager that mattifying them afterward won't help the color change
I would definitely like to see the differences between the new Pizza Club turtles vs the Turtles in Disguise. I’m curious how they look without that two-tone cell-shading stuff.

You can turn your glossy turtles matte. Just grab a can of Krylon clear matte acrylic coating spray and spray them. That's what I did to both my NECA TID and Super7 sets. Now they look way better, and more premium as they should.

Went to Target to look for Star Wars figures as they're discounted this week for May 4 and didn't find anything I wanted. Out of curiosity I went to the collectors area and found a Batman the animated series batcycle on clearance for $8 so I got it. Looked for TMNT Haulathon and there was nothing in the collectors area so I left. The end.
But WAIT, what is just sitting there on the counter in the electronics area with nobody in sight to have claimed it, this punk set. I was flabbergasted. I hovered around it like a creep and looked in all directions and there was nobody around. Why was it just sitting there? I don't know. So I shrugged and just left it there and walked out the store.
Or did i?
I asked myself, what would Johnny do? Besides rub the box on his face with a quivering smile. So in the cart they went along with the batcycle. I looked around once more and nothing. I did come across a Target employee that just looked at me as I left the electronics area. Was he trying to keep this for himself? Who knows. But these punks are mine now. I honestly didn't like them in video but in person they're quite fun. So that's my story Johnny. Thanks to you I'm $150 less in my bank account. You and your entertaining reviews! Hmph! 😤
