This video is so amazing! Detail by detail, also you were able to show us step by step, the RV looks amazing. I ❤ the white look. You should also try to become a news anchor personally. Your voice and attention to presentation is amazing.
I really don't see what's wrong with the "before" ceiling. That grooved panel is really not the best choice foe a ceiling. Best to keep the roof well sealed on the outside BEFORE leaks occur. I happen to really like the late 80's / 90's look, but it's their RV, and I appreciate the passion.
I do love the look of it, but when I bought my house, the flippers put that bead board on my basement walls and every time I went downstairsI could smell wet cardboard despite running a humidifier. Hubby and I tore it out and drywalled. Curious if everyone putting this bead board in their rv’s notice a smell?
How long did the ceiling take you guys? I imagine 2-3 days for it. I'm planning to redo a trailer ceiling soon and not sure how to budget my time to get it ready for ski season.
LIFESAVERS!!! Thank you for this video!
You are very welcome! I'm so glad that it helped!
Love what you did to the ceiling. Those diagrams will be a treasure for the new owners!
I hope so! It was a lot of work but it turned out so great
We're in the midst of updating the ceiling in our motorhome - yours turned out great! Can't wait to see more videos and progress!
Thank you! I didn't know you guys had a youtube, just gave you a follow!
@@TheFlippinTilbys Yeah, took a took a loooooooong break from posting, haha. Thanks for the follow!

I'm so glad that you found it helpful! And thank you for the very kind compliment!
Beautiful! I want to do mine like this. So clean and fresh.
It is a lot of work, but we are very happy with the result.
compressed cardboard is highly moisture absorbent, (your ceiling material choice) RV's are highly humidity prone and RV ceilings highly leak prone...
I was thinking the same thing. Do you happen to know what material would work best?

Nice job!
Thanks!
How much did materials cost to re place the ceiling?
I love the look of the new ceiling! How much weight did the new ceiling add to the RV?
I don't have an exact number.

I imagine it stays a bit cooler with the added insulation in the ceiling.
We are hoping it helps, but we didn't have any experience in the motorhome before to compare it to.
Do you have to take everything off the walls to take down the ceiling?
awesome video , just wondering on the 1X6 trim boards ive only seen 12ft long, did you guys use puddy to make them look like one peace?
@farmerrick9660 yeah, we will typically use a flex caulking to hide the seam
@@TheFlippinTilbys ahh, thanks, i didnt see anything about it on he video, i thought maybe you mdf longer then 12ft in your area?
Type paint did you use as a primer & final coat. What prep did you do to the walks before priming & poo ainting. Great video.
We use a Gripper primer, and always use Scuff-X paint from Benjamin Moore for our topcoat.
We scuff the walls with 220 and wipe it down with a degreaser for prep work.

From tear out to fully rebuilt was about a week, but we had several other projects thrown into the middle there.
How much does something like this cost ?
Can I hire someone to do this near Massachusetts ?
@@kevinoconnell8802 in just supplies, it will probably cost $800-$1000 for sheeting, trim, insulation, caulking, paint, etc.
@kevinoconnell8802 we do most of our renovations on the West Coast, but there are RV renovators on the East Coast!
What was the R value in those ceiling insulation panels? Cheers from Nanaimo BC Canada 🇨🇦
If I remember right, they are R-9.
I have a 2005 Tioga RV to I need the roof inside to be done
This is one example of what you could do.
Where do yall live? how much does it cost to have you do this for me?
We are on the road right now. We are looking to settle down to be better able to take on more jobs.
