While quality of writing is good, there's definite lack of art, most of it is recycled from core books. Another major issue is concept of 'villains'. It's very clear that author adheres to particular political ideology. It starts with retired afro-american cop investigating conspiracy of crooked KKK members. Continues with ADL-like NGO fighting against neo-volkists guilty of 'toxic masculinity'. Then we have amish-like cult with emphasis on oppressing their women, incels, the list goes on. I get it that DG is a game about conspiracy theories being real, but identity politics and first world problems look very out of place in such a grim and doomed setting. Also, part about russian agent is very funny to us, post-soviet folks. But that's not something new to DG, it always treated eastern europe as arcane land of myth & legend.
The fact that the writers for DG understand that much of the modern real life and mundane horror of our present world is born from the popular but warped understanding of conservatism by many is actually the best part of this book.

I'm from central-eastern Europe. Can confirm that it can get pretty arcane here.
Alt-Right groups are probably the closest to modern day cultists unfortunately. Armed people with dogmatic beliefs? Yes.
@@Skullkan6 But hard left Marxist groups like ANTIFA and BLM are cool? Yes
