Best RPG reviews on YT (that I have come across). The way you structure and deliver information is top notch. Clearly a high effort production, rather than low effort droning most people do. Good luck with your first 10K subscribers ;-)
Some of the best CoC I have played has been within the DG setting. Realm of Shadows, also by the same writers, is a masterpiece of rpg writing, layout, art and presentation.
This is the game Bureau 13 from Tri Tac games redone. There are a great many games that Tri Tac created that 7 TV shows took their inspiration from and lord knows how many TTRPGs and board games took their inspiration from. This game even has the super secret government department and the "something nearly wiped us out" event. Tri Tac Games were never, ever, dark so it is nice that everyone who has used tbeir ideas have made them dark. I always felt that Richard's failing was the sillyness that he built into his games, but that could also be the times that he worked in. Nice review, thanks.
I think the idea of Tri Tac’s Bureau 13 and Delta Green’s arrival in the Unspeakable Oath magazine came around the same time. Bureau 13 seems like an older idea from what I google’d. Nothing is original sure but I don’t think anyone was re-doing anything here.
Are there any plans to cover/review any of DG's released sourcebooks, setting guides, and operations? I've a feeling given how immaculately edited your content is, the results can only be spectacular!
SicSemperTyrannis Doing reviews on operations books is tricky, since spoilers are a major consideration. I haven’t looked into the other sourcebooks for reviews but I’ll check them out!
Dave Thaumavore there’s been a recent release of a bunch of factions (allies and enemies alike) in a book called The Labyrinth- might be a worthwhile purchase
Nice pair of overviews, thank you. All the DG books are beautifully made! And a nice evolution of tje CoC rules. Great game. And the Handler's Guide is a fun read.
I'm going to be running a game of delta green soon, and I like a lot of the musical choice in this review-- do you have a list of credits for the tracks used lying around anywhere?
May I ask if there's a supplementary book that functions as a 5e style prewritten adventure? I want to try this with my group but I don't want to get too crazy until I know they enjoy it, I purchased "Night at the Opera" but skimming the pdf it seems as though it's more a prompt or resource book.
Get the free “Need to Know Guide” that has pregens and a short pre-written adventure which has tons of resources and modifications for free from players online.
@@AngelicBeatdown Update, I have the slip case containing the Agent and Handler guide, I ran "Last Things Last" for my group and they loved it. I'll probably run the Reverb case whenever I DM next (all five of us enjoy DMing a variety of RPGs).
Indeed I kind of want to adapt the story of Prototype to a degree ( the virus, the experiments and outbreak in Hope Idaho and such but not the biomass wielding power fantasy)
What's up with this whole 'Day Job' thing... do agents not get paid for their work?! This is something I would expect in a scenario based on the 'Supernatural' TV show but not with government agents.
Old comment I know, but in case anyone in the future has this question: DG is an organization so secret it only exists as a conspiracy. Depending on the time period you play, it may have even been disbanded. Agents have a day job as a way to gather intel and resources and keep suspicion around them low.
@@AngelicBeatdown .. I like the hole paranormal, X-files thing a LOT. I might refer to the monster, creature, spirit types or visuals of them to be ridiculous... looking stupid or in someway extreme.

My group just started call of Cthulhu. So far it’s super easy to understand and is tons of fun! Very role play heavy. Oh and bring a backup character!

SicSemperTyrannis I’ll definitely check this out. Thanks for the lead!
Great video, very informative with professional production value. Cheers!

I enjoy the care you put into these reviews. Helps me explain this system to my friends better than I can. THANKS!!

Good to see they included Howard's contributions to mythos in the history section.

The Preston and child agent pendergast novels are delta greenish
Wow, so you could make a SCP campaign with these books?
Raynee Day Without a doubt. The official mission of The Program is almost literally Secure, Contain, Protect.

@@PVT900 Not sure if you know this, but Dennis Detwiller worked on Prototype! He was one of its creators (in terms of the concept and story).
@@GnomadologyWow that’s awesome! Never knew that.
Whats the song at the top of this video?
Cthulhu fhtagn!
have a scp feel to this
True
Btw- If you're using thus for SCP I recommend playing as UIU agents at the start at least, gives more of the lack of resources and u derstanding vibe
SCP has a Delta Green vibe.
It predates scp

Truly i think delta green has the potential to functionally usurp Call of Cthulhu at their own game.

Most of the "monsters" I've seen in this game looks ridiculous, and is just what I feared this game would be.
Your loss
