  • Megyn Kelly is joined by actor Dennis Quaid, star of the new movie "Reagan," to talk about the challenges and nuances of portraying President Ronald Reagan, whether he had any reservations about doing so in today's politically and culturally divided environment, how the role demanded a deep understanding of Reagan's legacy and the complexities of his era, the lesson about standing up to a bully, how he lived his life on principles not politics, and more.

    I served in the U.S. Navy in 1978 (as an avionics technician) when Jimmy Carter was President. I could not believe the difference in readiness for our squadron after Reagan took office. Reagan was the right man, at the right time.

      My cousin served in an air wing in Hawaii and it was stunning that we had tons of planes that just never were flown because we didn’t have the spare parts to fix them. He said that changed really quickly by the end of 1981.

    There are people who say that we are praising Dennis Quaid because the Democrats think he supports Trump, but that has nothing to do with it because he was already a great actor long before Trump was elected. I also think Robert De Niro is a great actor, but when it comes to politics, he is a complete idiot.

    • @trishasabrina7278
      @trishasabrina7278 22 дня назад

      It’s true, his politics is nonsense, but that’s true of most Hollywood actors. It’s even true of Noam Chomsky and he’s a public intellectual. I took numerous economics courses in college and when he speaks on economics I can tell he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Alyssa Milano once said we need to start printing money to hand out to poor people. This is how clueless most Hollywood actors are.

The Motion Picture Home is gone as well......what Reagan worked hard for has disappeared thanks to the Left leaning Obama administration. My husband and I went from free insurance..which was a union promise.... to over $7000.00. for the same coverage we had prior to the guild dumping their retirees down the tube. I'm 72 years old and Ronald Reagans story hit home. I was in the 3rd grade I think it was and this big boy down the street kept picking in my if I strayed from our yard, and at recess at school. He was a year or two older. I complained to my grandfather I maybe one too many times and instructed me that I had to fight him, and if I didn't, he would give my butt a spanking and my mom agreed. I had never had a real fight, and the how to churned over and in my head. My mom said, go in fast swinging, and the next time that's what I did. I ran at him fast wind milling (the best way to lose a fight) and I tripped, my head rammed him in the nose. He stepped back, put a hand to his face, looked at, saw blood and ran away crying. My grandpa told me, when a bully realizes you'll fight back every time, he'll leave you alone. I found that to be true.

I remember being ordered to take down all the James Watt cartoons from our cubicle walls.
